This place is a roach infested junk hole. The entire time I lived here I've had problems with roaches. They sprayed my apartment weekly and I put traps everywhere but it never helped. Not only that, the elevators are always broken. Management doesn't help anything. They went through 3 different sets of people while I was living there. They're always rude and fake. Poor management and above market rents

The staff working in the office are very "fake" and "plastic". Management seems to be very disorganized. Companies have changed every year I've lived here. The air conditioning doesn't begin to cool units. Rents are well above the area for what you get. Avoid!!!

1. Elevator constantly broken
2. Fridge broken for over 3 weeks
3. Had no AC in the bedroom for almost a year
4. Parking lot floods
5. Change in management 3 times in 2 yrs

This is a great building close to ODU, and downtown Norfolk. Everyone here is very friendly. I love my studio apartment here because it is a bit larger than I would have expected and it is priced graciously compared to similar places near by. The second I moved in I had a horrible roach problem. They have sprayed many times but my problem is still not resolved. There is poor communication between maintenance staff and the office. Nothing is done in a timely mannor or when they tell you they will be coming. They tell you they will work with your schedule but they don't at all. I lived here for a little under a year while I finished up my time in the Navy. The Studio apartment was great and was actually a great side. The vied of the Boat Ramp and Granby was great. You never know how many people really dont know how to operate a boat until you sit on your patio and watch them!!

this is the worst place ive ever lived at
it s nasty noisy, the management and the maintenance are the worst on earth. It s been 4 months that I live here and I cant wait till my lease is over

Great for graduate students at ODU. 10-15 minute bike ride to campus. The renovations that were completed in April 2013 added some nice amenities and make the lobby look great. Number one complaint is that the parking lot floods when it rains a lot, but the building can't really do anything about that.

My experience at Lafayette Towers has been nothing but positive.
The staff is very friendly and forthcoming, and the renovations to the building are beautiful. LT feels like a modern, multi-cultural living community. The security key and lights in the parking lot make me feel safe, and I have never had a problem with noise level.
I would recommend Lafayette Towers to anybody.

We have a huge 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment for a grea price. However, on New Years Eve I was mugged in my parking lot. Yes, gun in my face kind of mugged. The apartments are super quiet and really big, however, we are now looking into moving because I feel like I cannot go out at night.

I lived there for 4 years. When i was leaving they did a massive amount of remodeling. They built new balconies (like literally ripped the old ones out and added new ones). New, better, more weather proof windows. Better, fancier light fixtures. Completely painted over the walls outside and added some more external changes. New hallway carpets and painting, etc.

This property has had a change of management and staff. The new staff is amazing! They are undergoing renovations which we are so excited to see and be a part of!
The staff is warm, and welcoming, maintenace goes above and beyond. What may have been not so great in the past, has definitely made a change for the better.
