The food was absolutely mouth watering. I ordered the Johnny Appleseed with the tomato bisque as the dipper and it was simply AMAZING. Two thumbs up and I will be back in the future.
We had the parmesan and chimichurri fries to start and the shared the Islander and the Giuseppe, complemented by the French press coffee. Everything was so amazing, including the service from Carl. If you want to try a different spin on grilled cheese and have a really fun experience, you must come by!

Not only was the food great but the service was as well! We were in for lunch today and had our 5.5 month old with us. The only seating they had was at the bar near the restrooms. As soon as a short table became available, they immediately moved us so we could be more comfortable with the baby.

Just went for dinner...it was fantastic. Great atmosphere, AMAZING food and spot on service. The staff was almost giddy with excitement about what they are doing. As a business owner that is a great compliment...a happy staff! Will definitely be back!!!
Stopped by today and had the BBQ GC sandwich and daughter had the mac n' cheese GC sandwich. Both were served hot, stuffed, and tasty! I will be back!

Very disappointed with this place. We were one of 8 people in the restaurant on a Monday night and our meals(Grilled Cheese sandwiches) did not come out at the same time. Even worse, our last meal was served after everyone else was finished. Waitress did not even offer to comp that meal. Not worth the parking fee downtown!!

My daughter and I stopped in on Saturday. We had the Woody Allen and a complimentary order of chimichurri fries, as the chef made an extra by accident and saw us drooling over them. We just ate here last night on the recommendation of my daughter and we loved it! The hardest part was deciding which sandwich to try they all looked so good I'm sure will be back to try the all! The sangria was awesome and I'm not even a wine drinker! We can't wait to eat there again keep up the good work.

Mediocre Grilled Cheeses and sub par appetizers. Never going again and wouldn't recommend this to any one. Unless you like blowing your money on crappy food. The only good thing was the waitress because she was fast with drinks.

I've been here twice during the opening weekend. Great food and service. The seating is tight but thats to be expected in such a small place.
A combination I never knew I needed: the Woody Allen -- salmon, brie, dill and capers all melted togther between two perfectly toasted pieces of bread with a side of chimmichurri and parmesan fries.
The food is great and a fabulous change from the ordinary grilled cheese sandwich. Try the awesome sangria, you will not regret it!

Finally had a chance to check out GCB a couple weeks ago. Ordered to-go, and it was quite a wait - but I'd have never known it because the staff was amazing. Chatting people up, getting drinks served (even to those who were standing and waiting for a table). That Johnny Appleseed was the most amazing sandwich - we're talking last-meal-worthy. I took the kids here for lunch one day. Cool spot with a good staff. One kid got 3 cheese one got a smoked salmon with dill & I got one with blueberries on walnut blue cheese sourdough. Cool little spot for excellent grilled cheeses and friendly conversation. Sandwiches are generous in size and stuffins'. The decor is simple and our waitress Chloe was super nice and very attentive.

Four friends go out several times a year and look forward to being together. The food was delicious, I had sangria and a Don Quixote. Yummy. Service was fine until we were asked twice to share our table with two more people, then given to-go containers while we were still eating.....waitresses processed our checks on her iPad-awkward and uncomfortable as she watched us type in the tip amount....

I had the big "O" this morning, no joke. French toast, peanut butter, banana, Nutella and mascarpone, with some fabulous bacon in the middle, drizzled with love. You need to try this.
Well worth the 20 minute wait for a table. My hubby and I split the gooey because the sandwiches are huge. I had the tomato bisque dipper and he had the Parmesan and chimichurri fries. Everything was amazing! Carl was an awesome server. Great atmosphere. Will be back when we visit Norfolk again.
One of the most creative and enjoyable places to eat. It's the kind of place you would want to show off to friends/family from out of town :) friendly atmosphere, great live acoustic music on the weekends. It's clear that the staff does the absolute best that they can to take care of the guests when things are crazy/crowded and the wait is long. Food is incredible... All of it!

My husband and I ate there yesterday, it's not an ordinary Grill cheese sandwich. The Sam I Am with a hard fried egg is really good. Oh and the sphere fried pickles are also delicious. My husband had the apple bacon with apple slices on his grill cheese, he said it was delicious and it's all very filling. The place is small but very cozy. We had a huge table and invited 4 strangers to sit down...
