An Oasis

Average Rating

We dropped in hot and bedraggled from the time we'd spent outdoors walking around the Bear Fest - and we felt very welcome. They helped us settle in (3 kids and 5 adults) and promptly took our orders and kept the water coming. They have a great menu with many selections. Everyone was pleased with their food. We didn't make...

The food was excellent, cooked well and very enjoyable. The shrimp was cooked perfectly! I have been a few times and their salads are very good also, nice crisp vegetables and homemade dressing.

This place was a gem. The service was good. I had the pork chop and it did not disappoint. They were busy, but I saw they take reservations. I would call ahead.

This was recommended by our hotel receptionist. It was a good local choice, down by the river section of town. We had a quite, relaxing dinner after a long day.

An oasis in a food desert

I travel a lot between Raleigh and the Outer Banks. Until recently, I ate fast food. But, dieting forced me to look for something healthier. I finally found it at this restaurant. I had an amazing Shrimp Louie salad - Lemon pepper shrimp served on a bed of greens. Very good value; the dish cost $8.95. The greens were a...

This restaurant is an oasis in the food desert that marks US 64 between the Triangle and OBX. I am on a diet, but found a really tasty Shrimp Louis sakad. Nice greens (no ice berg lettuce), hard...

Mack, from the Sportsman's Inn recommended we try the Garden Spot - and it was just as he promised: good food, cheery atmosphere, and even the other customers were friendly - they commented that anything we tried would be good. That's a great commentary on any eating establishment!

Great place. Got surf and turf. Best steak. So much we had to take home. Service was outstanding. Homemade coconut pie want to eat more but was to full. It had to be the best I have eating hands down. This place is a hidden jewel.

Sweet Little Place to Eat

This is a small, but very good place to eat. The selection is very good and the staff very friendly. We try to eat there on most visits. You must check their hours since they are not open every day.

Good but hot

My coworkers & I ate at this restaurant on a day when the temperature outside was 100 degrees plus with a heat index of 105 plus. The air conditioner in the restaurant had been out since the day before. Let me just say that if I had been by myself or with my husband, I would have left because it...

I visited Plymouth while exploring the area by bicycle and found a nice place beginning to reach for its potential as a small riverside town. I took a little extra time to enjoy lunch at the Garden Spot in downtown. I truly enjoyed this little oasis. The service was excellent and the offerings varied and very tasty. Love the sweet...

I cant review the food because we never got served.
It was a Friday night and there were 4 tables in the entire restaurant.
We got seated and got some ice tea. So far so good.
Then another table came in the waitress got their order. brought the drinks out to them. Still never came back to us to ask...

This is a locally owned family run place that has the best burgers and deserts. The staff is friendly and speaks to you like you are family. So stop in and have the ghost pepper cheese burger and some spirits and maybe some oysters for the G spot upsairs.

We ate dinner here on recommendation of clerk at hotel we had just checked into and this was the only place that looked open in "historic Plymouth" on Friday evening-other places and fast food out of town on route 64. Service was prompt, food very good- fried shrimp dinner and that amazing sweet tea! There was a group of about...

Food OK, Hospitality, not so much

We had a nice lunch there, but the visit was tainted by the woman at the cash register. When we mentioned we were from Massachusetts it was like we'd fouled the air. Her response was "well, God bless you. I'd come south every chance I got too". When we left my husband said "what the heck was that?" I replied,...

Turn off to historic Plymouth

Garden Spot lives up to its name - light and airy with trellises, plants and flowers. There is a subtle Christian presence here along with a full ABC license, no draft beers, but a good selection of bottles. We split a shrimp wrap, which came hot and toasted, large shrimp embedded in gooey melted cheddar. After lunch take a short...

The shrimp wrap was outstanding. This is a spot where the locals eat and it is easy to see why. Food looked and tasted home made. No microwave here.

Little gem on way to OBX

Average Rating

We were headed to the OBX and didn't want fast food. I looked up places on Yelp and found this little diner. Service is super friendly, everything is homemade. We both got wraps - shrimp and chicken - and they were really good. The potato salad wasn't my cup of tea but I'm sure it suits a lot of folks....

A SPOT AT THE FRONT WINDOW IS SUPER

I visited The Garden Spot on April 23 alone--arrived a little early--and headed for that special spot at the front window. Being alone, it was great to sit at the window and watch the world go by. It was the second time I had been there--and enjoyed it just as much as the first time! The food is great, and...

Me and my husband had the opportunity to eat at the "Upstairs Steamer Bar" in "The Garden Spot Cafe in Plymouth, NC this evening. It was recommended to us by the clerk at our hotel. This is a nice spot to eat if you ant something more than your average fast food fare and you happen to be in Plymouth, NC. They make good sandwiches and usually a good lunch special during the week. Weekends they are open at night with a more sustantial menu. They also have a new Oyster Bar around the back....
