My wife come here 3-4 times a year, usually on Friday evenings. The place is always packed so come early to get a good seat. This restaurant serves authentic german food that never ceases to please. Our favorites include the schnitzel and sauerbrauten served with spatzle and a slice of strudel for dessert. The beer selection is the best in Hampton Roads and the service staff is only too eager to accomodate any questions. The decor is casual and reminiscent of a pub found in rural Germany, complete with gracious hosts and attentive wait staff.

Great ambiance and excellent food. The authentic food took me back to memories of my time in Germany. The beer menu was extensive and very reasonably priced giving the opportunity to try a wide range of real German beers. Overall a great place for any occasion and one that I will be returning to soon.

We arrived early for our reservations, but that was not a problem. We were immediately taken to a table by the personable hostess with a big smile. Our server (I am sorry, my hearing is bad and I apologize if I got your name wrong) Britta was outstanding, you will be lucky if she is your server the next time you go. She made sure our drinks stayed full and we had everything we needed to enjoy...

Our birthday get-together for family was a real treat! Our server advised about variations in food and drink menu choices that evening, and helped us make second choices. All food was amply portioned and delicious. Our drinks were hearty and tasty. We are new enough customers to still have fun trying new things (while wishing to repeat previous yummies). The new gift shop around the corner has...

Being there for an early dinner I'm afraid a couple of our dishes may have been left from lunch. The Sauer Braten was tough and had some gristle. The beef rouladen was dry and served barely warm (we had to ask for it to be re heated) at the same time they added more gravy, I think because they realized it was dry too. Our Spatzle was very soft, almost to the point of mushy. Enough of the bad,...

Great food, great service! Best German food we've had since we were actually in Germany! Probably would have preferred to be in the dining room and not on the porch being it was a little chilly by the end of our meal. Prices were the going rate for the cuisine. Will definitely be returning in the future!

Allow yourself time if going for dinner. We arrived at our reserved time and it took 15 minutes before our drink order was taken. We had to find a drink menu on our own. I went here one night for a few drinks. First off parking was a pain, but found a spot a few blocks away. Made my way through the catacombs of the establishment to a overly crowded bar. The only thing I liked about them was that they have a large menu...
