What I would refer to as somewhat of a "boutique" sandwich shop. Great little sandwiches, desserts and other novelty foods. The sassy pimento cheese is to die for. A great lunch spot, and service is pretty quick. They even have a few local VA brews and wines on deck. Prepare to open your wallet a bit because they are a bit pricey ($13-$17) for a sandwich, chips and a drink.
I absolutely love Taste! I gave four stars just because it can become pricey, even when you only have two people in your party. I know it is because of the quality of food but that's why. Definitely a customer for life!

For a Christmas party, I ordered a platter of deviled eggs with ham that was was purported to "serve thirty". When I picked up the tray there were thirty half eggs--for $50.00! We've eaten here a number of times and love it. There are about 5 of these in the Hampton Roads area, including Newport News. The sandwiches are superb, the desserts to die for. Don't mess around anywhere else, go here!

High end deli in Norfolk. This is like a Dean & DeLuca in NYC. It's more expensive than your typical deli, but the food it very good and they have a decent beer and wine collection. They even allow you to purchase beer by the bottle. The selection is very good and one that I would recommend.
