Super 8 offers a complimentary SuperStart Breakfast, including coffee, tea, juice, milk, cereal, and an assortment of baked deliciousness! Super 8 has always had a love for freedom and the open road, believing that everyone should be free to get away. In 1974, Super 8 began this vision with our first hotel in Aberdeen, South Dakota offering rooms for $8.88 per night, making that part of South...
It was clean\n\nThe motel is old. Fridge in room was loud. Cable on tv did not work( had 5 channels). Flies in room. No water pressure in shower.
The price was affordable, The staff was nice and the breakfast was adequate.
Location of where I needed to be.\n\nOmg the room was so gross. The shower head, the knobs and the floor were nasty. The sheets were put on inside out but we slept on our sleeping bag and brought our own blankets!
2 dollars cheaper...not a good bargain\n\nNot enough TV channels and microwave didn't work
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel.
Price and staff were very friendly\n\nI've stayed here before and had a better experience. This time my room wasn't very clean and the tv didn't work properly. The bathroom had hairs all in the tub. I had to go buy cleaning products and clean the bathroom first. Not sure if I'll return.
Staff was welcoming. For the price is very nice. Being on the ground it was easy access to room. I felt safe staying at this motel. I appreciated the refrigerator was plug in and cold and a small microwave was available.\n\nNeeds a little refreshing. The sheet kept coming off the bed corners. I wish the tv had more channels.
Room was not as clean as it should have been.
The odor in the room was impossible to describe; we just wanted to leave the place in the morning
Good location for the event I was attending. Very nice staff.
The price was good.\n\nThe door would not shut well (it was very loose with a large gap). The rooms had old furniture, carpet, and tile. The air conditioner also stopped working on the second day.
Recovering from previous owners. Staff was excellent. Rooms a bit run down but clean.
price
They did not accomodate me when I showed up for check in. I called ahead to let them know when I would arrive & once I arrived there was a miscommunication & they did not have my room for me to stay in. I had to sleep in my truck even though I paid ahead.
The smoke detector went off every ten minutes starting at 5am. Sheets didn't fit on the bed.
Motel looks very rundown. The sheets kept coming off the king size bed which I have never had happen anywhere before. It was annoying. There was a dead mouse in the place where the ice machine was housed which was filthy without the mouse. If you are just staying for a night on the way to somewhere else it's adequate, otherwise go anywhere else.
Great place to stay. Clean
it was clean and decent and no one bothered us while we were there.\n\nlocation was to far from the coast and the cops stopped us and wrote a 161-00 seat belt ticket no warning or anything but a fat ticket.they like tourist 161 percent. The local fast food sucks lousy service and lousy attitudes.\n\nnice and clean and quite ,small pool and one broke ice maker
Not a lot of choices in the area. This property has some age and it shows. It was previously a Super 8. Getting a reservation for four straight nights with double bed, non-smoking was not possible. The local staff was very helpful in making it happen. Due to the limited options and the helpfulness of the staff, I would stay there again.
The pool was great! Management was very nice and went above and beyond what was expected.\n\nBreakfast could have been better but it was still good.
The wasn't really cleaned! I had to go get and get the vacuum cleaner and cleaned my floor in the room! Internet service was really bad!I go somewhere next time!
easy checkin\n\nnot as clean as I was expecting
friendly staff and good location.\n\nobviously old and stairs rusting.
nothing\n\nBed had a plastic cover that made the mattress uncomfortable. Dirty carpet.Bathroom tile floor filthy with mold.Old TV with minimum channels. Continental breakfast was choice of a piece of toast.
I am very familiar with this hotel, since this is my hometown. I was home vistiing family during the holidays. My husband and I decided to stay here because we have stayed here before and never had any problems. Well, this time was different! The sheets did not fit the king size bed and kept coming off during the night. We got up the next morning to use the bathroom and the toilet would not...
Staff was friendly and helpful.\n\nRoom seemed too small for king-sized bed.
Location\n\nRooms need to be updated and better breakfast
this motel use to be a Super 8, just recently changed over to Americas Best Value Inn. When they say" Amercias Best Value" they are correct. Room was cheap!! since they are making changes to motel; my room had a "new" mattress. I had a king size bed, very nice. My room was clean. The front desk was awesome. Location...
I read other people's reviews and apparently people expect the Crowne Plaza for $60 a night. Well guess what you don't get it.
What you do get is friendly helpful staff and a reasonable room equipped with a microwave and a fridge. 1st time here but won't be my last
We stopped for just one night on the road - was clean, quite and a very nice room - breakfast was great and personnel terrific - the lobby was lovely
We were just overnighting while checking out the area for retirement. Choices were Hampton and Super 8. Read the reviews and decided to chance this hotel. We are glad we did.
Though older, the room and grounds were clean. It showed its age in places, but was overall well maintained. The room was clean, the beds comfortable and the staff...
Room is a bit small. It was clean. Staff was super friendly.
After working a long day we set out from NJ about 9pm heading to NC on a quick business trip. Got in VA Beach about 2am and went to our regular Hotel only to find they were booked up. Since we are familiar with the area, we figured we would find something close. NOT A CHANCE!!!! Graduation time and everything...
Every bit of the furnishings had water damage all of the veneer on the furniture was coming off everything in the room was dirty and outdated.
I enjoyed my stay. The staff was very polite and respectful.
We stayed at this hotel July 4th and 5th. We ended up here because all hotels were booked over the 4th of weekend in the outer banks and surrounding cities. We called and they had avaliable room for about 90 a night. Which was a fantastic deal since all other hotel were 250 and up. The staff was nice a...
This is the third and last time I will stay at this hotel. There is always a descrpancy between the price advertized and agreed to and what the hotel actually charges. Management is unknowledgeable and UNWILLING to solve the problem. They keep advertizing refurbished rooms and they all are horrible. NEVER AGAIN!
Room was very clean. Shower was perfect. There was a microwave and mini fridge in the room as well. Absolutely no complaints. Great room for the cost.
It was convenient to the location I was visiting. My room was on the back side of the building and there was NO road noise at all.\n\nThe lobby was dated. The room itself had very poor lighting and it didn't feel clean. Plus, the pool was still closed. Totally not expected in NC in late June.\n\nWe were given only 2 pillows and had to walk to the front desk to get extras and were told that we...
The staff was friendly. I would never stay in this motel by myself as there were many men hanging out and drinking outside their rooms. There was enough space between the door and door jam to see the outside and possibly stick a finger in the space. The sheets were extremely thin. The floor seem ed pretty clean. Bathroom was...
the place is OLD and it shows.......................................................................................................
had great time the best part was having a home cook breakfast every morning. when I travel your hotel will be where I be thanks a lot.
Friendly staff, no amenities, no workout equipment, no espn.
There was nothing really wrong with my stay. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The building is showing its age. It is a long way from the room I stayed in to the ice and vending machines and I had to ask where they were as I did not see a sign directing folks to them. The price was...
Stayed one night for a tour the next day of Edenton. Easy location off the highway. Clean, comfortable room. Paper thin walls, so we had to listen the TV and phone conversation of the guy next door all night. Very friendly and courteous staff. Breakfast is usual continental style. Recommended for a night's stay. Maybe longer if you can get...
This is an older property that has changed hands several times in the years we've been going to it. The pool doesn't work more often than it does, but the mattresses are firm and the room clean. Breakfast is basic, but staff is helpful. You can always pay $30 more and stay in the newer hotel across the street, but...
The room was clean and the staff were pleasant. We were disappointed the swimming pool was closed, had been all season. Rest rooms in lobby were out of order and ice machine on first floor was out of order. Not a first choice recommendation but it is adequate. Continental breakfast was good choices.
If the other beds in the motel are the same as in Room 106, there are other guests who have miserable nights. It felt like you were sleeping on the box springs, minus the mattress.
My Family & I have stayed at this Super 8 Hotel a few times out of the year when we come visit. But I must say that this time was the worst ever, Our room had trash left in the cans, old beer bottles and caps beside the bed, poor lighting in the room, the linens on the bed was...
This place stinks. My husband and I stayed one night and could not take it any longer. Even though we had a non smoking room, it was obvious that the rules were not enforced. The stale smoke was the worst. We used all kinds of disinfectants and odor killers but could not disguise the smell. To make matters worst, the...
We stayed here because the Hampton Inn was sold out! The staff was friendly, the room was clean....but, this hotel is so in need of repair. Our room had a light hanging from the bathroom ceiling, a big gap under the door, a bed hard has concrete, and a TV with 18 channels and no movie channels..The a/c was so...
We were there for a 3 day bike ride so we were out of the room most of the time. The staff were very nice. The lady taking care of breakfast had a yeoman's job which she did with a smile...they even ran out for additional food stuffs when they understood what the biking folk would be focused on for breakfast. My only wish was that the layout of the room was a bit different so you could sit in...
Great location and friendly staff. Rooms are OK, but could use a little updating. The only complaint I have is that their TV station selection is poor. Use to offer Showtime, but now only have basic satelite stations. Pool have been closed for 2 years.
This us a great place to stay. Ask for an upstairs room to avoid noisy people. It is in the middle of no where on Hwy 17. Take the time to visit the historic town of Edenton. It is wonderful! The rooms are clearness and comfortable. I asked for a non smoking room and it was clean with no smell...
I walked into the lobby and found a friendly person at the desk. For the price the room was ok. The TV channels were weak but they had Showtime. The room was clean. Breakfast was not extensive but they did have fresh fruit, cereal, and a friendly staff. I would return.
Not to bad of a hotel considering its off the beaten path in a town that's older then most of the dirt in the area. When we stayed the little old woman behind the counter had some issues with our reservation but was funny. We got to our room wasn't too bad again for being in the boondocks and a...
If you are a smoker you will love this place. My wife and I don't smoke. We thought we were going to get a non smoking room, non were available. The room smelled so bad. I used about half of a spray bottle of ECO Lab Room Refresher to make it more tolerable for us.
The staff was very friendly....
attempted to stay here for a family reunion. room smelled like urine, room was in disarray, did not have the advertized WIFI, if it did the signal was too weak to connect, they also advertized they had a pool, they do, but according to the clerk, the general manager or owner doesnt want it used so that would equate to...
When I first arrived, I checked out the facilities, and decided that they were not for me. Looking a bit tired even for a budget motel chain. Security and privacy seemed to be a concern as well. People sitting outside their rooms in the parking lot in lawn chairs drinking adult beverages. I went to a nearby hotel, the facility...
Pulled back the sheets after a busy day and found a large black spider had decided to stay with us in the sheets. Inexcusable, absolutely no way I willstay there again. Sleeping on the beds was about as comfortable as sleeping on a floor
We came into town late Friday night for my father-in-law's funeral and fell asleep quickly. It is an older hotel, but the room seemed fine and we weren't planning on being there much anyway. When we got up and tried to use the toilet it overflowed immediately. We alerted Christy at the front desk who told us the maintenance man...
Nice clean room, reasonable prices, need to improve wi fi...Terrible connections
Very basic accommodations: clean updated room, efficient staff, refrigerator & microwave, thin towels, fast & free wifi. Firm bed. The only thing available in town during a special event.
My husband and I wanted a quick inexpensive get away so we took a chance for the Super 8, as it was convenient also. I looked at the reviews and some did not seem too bad. I guess if the sheets were more than 1/18th of an inch thicker and stayed on the bed, the mattress pad covered the mattress,...
There were very few options for accommodations in this little town. The Super 8 and The Hampton Inn. After checking prices, we opted for the Super 8 and I am VERY satisfied with our choice. The staff were very friendly and happy to answer questions. At $65 a night, you got a clean room, micro/fridge and a great cup of...
This hotel could really use an update. I thought it was interesting that there is a sign at desk that says "No Locals" and person at the desk informed me that they do not rent to any local residences. From the outside it could look like that type hotel. I really don't have any complaints on the room but I was glad I only used the Hotel as a one night pass through. For that, it was OK.. I was...
I and my wife stayed there for three days. It is great, my room was clean and the quiet. I has a lot of drawer space, but the room has not much space. I was very happy for its breakfast, it was not bad. One very good thing, which was the internet service, the Wi-fi was free and fast. finally,...
There was nothing I liked about this place. The toliets were molded the tubs were molded the sheets were never changed and there were bugs. Breakfast was horrible. The internet was supposed to be high speed it sucked. There is nothing good to say about this place.
I called the hotel in advance to book the room for one night and they wouldn't honor the internet's $67.07 AARP rate. They did tell me that the pool was closed. I booked the room through the Super8 website and check-in was easy. The hotel is an older one and lots of construction workers were staying there. It was clean,...
My family and I arrived to the Super 8 while I was in Edenton on business. My first red flag was the front desk staff- she was EXTREMELY rude, She never smiled upon our arrival - she was actually busy talking to someone else that was clearly a social aquaintance so we weren't even acknowledged. Not only did I not...
I stay here every year or so when visiting my husbands grandmother. In the past years it has been a real dump and I was almost scared to stay there. This time the rooms were refurbished with new carpet, drapes and chairs . It isnt anything fancy but a nice affordable place to sleep. It was clean and the staff...
Ok, I realize we were staying at a Super 8, but this was sub-par even for a low budget chain. The whole place is in need a major overhaul, including staff. We arrived at our room late and when pulling back the covers on the bed, found a nickle and a ball point pen between the covers- guess it could...
Nothing fancy. That's not what anyone expects when staying at a Super 8. Room was clean. King size room has refrigerator and microwave. I do have 2 comments for consideration. 1. When open on a holiday, consider having the continental breakfast available past normal time. Have holiday hours set like weekend hours. I didn't want to get up early on...
My husband, daughter and I arrived on July 4th for a one night stay. I made our reservation over the internet for a non-smoking room/2 double beds. When we arrived to check in we were told that they didn't have this type of room for us but that they had a king with a pull out couch. I showed the...
Well, we knew from previous stays what we were in for. The problem is that when there is something going on, a wedding, graduation, etc....you will get stuck here if you don't book into the Hampton EARLY. We have family in Edenton, and have had to stay her several times because of the things aforementioned. This place really IS nasty....
This place seems to be rather old, and it has not been kept up very well at all. The rooms were very small, the bathroom was really small, the sink was not even in the bathroom, but in the bedroom area. The walls had some sort of stain on them, which looked grimy. When I closed the door to the...
This hotel was a major disappointment. We reserved two non-smoking rooms but there were no non-smoking rooms available. Sinks, tubs and appliances were filthy. Linens were dirty and the debris from a recent insect problem littered both rooms. The continental breakfast was poor as well. Edenton is a great historic town - but I would suggest a local B&B or alternate hotel
