The clerks were soooo helpful. They answered all of our questions and made us feel so welcome. Very informative regarding teas and spices. They listened and provided ideas based on our taste (buds). We went away with some great concoctions and couldn't wait to get home and enjoy them. Also, some rubs (spices) for my next bar-b-que. Prices were reasonable.
Great experience there yesterday. The 2 young ladies were very helpful with suggestions of different teas to try, as well as spice suggestions based on our food preferences. Loved the sample of Pumpkin tea!
Such a neat place!! Great variety and very helpful/friendly staff! We will definitely be returning!
We went to this location while on vacation last week and Raven was so very helpful and kind. She listened to everything we said and helped us make our selections. She was not at all pushy. We have only been home a few days but have already tried all the products we bought and we love them all. Great service...
I could spend all day simply breathing in the exotic flavors and aromas spicing the air! They make all their own blends right there in the shop, which makes for fabulous combinations, as well as the wondeful atmosphere. I purchased an Ethiopian berbere blend to try my hand at some African dishes. There were so many different blends I would...
Any cook or cook wanna be should put this high on their list of best places to go when visiting Williamsburg. This small shoppe carries a great variety of packaged and bulk spices, teas,
and interesting salts.
Easy and fun to pick several types of spice blends to try, then return for more by the scoop!
The staff is friendly...
The Spice & Tea Exchange is a lovely shop chock full of herbs, spices and teas. It's a definite "must visit" while in Williamsburg and it's an easy walk from Merchants Square. I always buy their catnip bags for my feline friends - they LOVE them!
I was taking a walk down Prince George Street & stumbled across this little gem. I love tea & they were having a great special so I stacked up on teas and spices. The ladies were great with their recommendations & so far everything I've tried has been great! Nice little place to visit, since we don't have one back...
My 13 year old daughter is a bit of a "Foodie". We traveled from NY to visit Williamsburg and she was very excited to research the Spice and Tea Shop after having visited one in Florida. We purchased quite a few new spices, teas and flavored sugars. The 2 young ladies in the shop couldn't have been sweeter. They allowed...
Heather and her team provide an excellent atmosphere for learning about spices & seasonings. The staff are polite and approachable, and they know their products too! Looking for gifts? Trying to perfect your next great recipe? Just need a place to soak in some exotic flavors (with the occasional sample!) in the midst of Colonial Williamsburg? This is that place. Will be back early and often!
Williamsburg Spice and Tea is an amazing store with friendly and knowledgable staff and wonderful products! I love all the specialties they offer. I will defiantly continue shopping here.
One of the best experiences ever! the most wonderful and friendliest places I have been. Very knowledgable staff!
Had the best experience at the Spice and Tea exchange of Williamsburg. Variety, combined with knowledable, and friendly staff. Enjoyed creating new & exciting recipes with our spices and my favorite tea is now coconut oolong!
Disappointing visit at the shop today. Found several things I was looking for, including Oolong Tea and Vietnamese Cinnamon. I was rung up by a blond young woman. There was a sign at the register that said if you spent over $25 ( which I did ) you could take a sample of tea that was in a basket on the counter. When I asked if I could take one, the young blond woman said they were only for...
I admit I'm addicted to Spice and Tea Exchange and whenever I travel I seek them out. This one is Williamsburg is just wonderful. Small yet quaint and so well stocked with all my favorite spices and teas. Customer service here is wonderful, they're knowledgable and helpful. If you like to cook you'll love this little shop!
The store and the service were fine. But everything is priced by the ounce, and the prices are quite high compared to a spice shop elsewhere. Fine if you want to buy a bit of something to try, but not otherwise.
Great selection of different teas and spices. Very helpful salesgirls. Loved their enthusiasm of the products. Bought several sampler packages. Smells great.
I love this place, I drive down from New Jersey to buy the finest teas and the girls are easy on the eyes...
I don't drink caffeine and their caffeine free teas are hands down the best around. The rooibos chai is ridiculously good and has the full, spicy, rich flavor that you get with regular black tea chai. The spices are as good as you can get anywhere. Kudos, I will definitely be back frequently.
We love, love, love their spices and teas. Will definitely revisit when we are down there. They usually have great deals going on too.
You've only been under new ownership for just a few short weeks. But, you won't be seeing as many fives on this site anymore unless you have staff that share your vision and carry on the strong reputation from previous owner's. The young lady working Saturday night at 5:30 clearly does not! Your site says you're open until 7pm. We loved this shop before our Saturday visit. She was cold and...
One of the blessings of living in Williamsburg are little shops like the Spice & Tea Exchange.
They have an amazing variety of spices, teas, salts, blends and flavoring powders packed into a tiny little place. Whether you just want the basics or you're learning Indian cooking and want to make a Garam Masala, they'll have all the spices you...
My husband and I both love cooking! It has so many amazing spices and the owner were so kind and helpful. Anyone in the area should go!
We stop into this shop whenever we are in Williamsburg. great variety, fair prices, nice people! Go check it out!
Just open the door and the smell of spices lures you in! This shop has the most awesome variety of spices, teas and food/cooking products. I enjoy cooking, but I have two children that work in the culinary industry and they usually raid my spice cabinet whenever they come home to "borrow" some of the cool products I have found...
The shop is quaint much like a smaller version of Penzey's. We stopped here because of all the positive reviews about how helpful and friendly the staff is. Not so much in our experience. The girl working at the counter was pleasant but not particularly helpful. We were looking for a gift for someone who prefers Earl Grey tea. When...
This was one of my favorite shops that we went to! There were so many things to look at... And smell! There were a ton of teas, spices and sugars. There were also something very blends that they made for meat rubs, soups and baking. Great little place, can't wait to go back !
If you love to cook or know someone who does, this store is a must on your trip to Williamsburg. Beautiful store with so many spices, they have their own spice mixes for purchase and even the hard to find in your local store spices. Prices are reasonable. Lovely smelling teas also. I purchased three of their spice blends and...
Great service and huge variety. Everything she suggested to us we ended up buying! Can't wait to give the blend a try and to use the wasabi powder with our favorite salmon dish.
I didn't know about this place and stumbled upon it while surfing the web. I went downtown to this charming neighborhood marketplace and made a beeline to the store.
OMG. If you're a foodie, then you definitely need to add this to your vacation list. The owners are very friendly and welcome comments and questions. I'm not going to spoil...
I had a c/o for a free 1oz. bag of tea of my choice which caused me to visit this shop. I was very impressed by the large selection of spices that they had from all around the world. I was not so impressed by the smaller area of teas. I have been to other places as such, esp in...
This tiny store is full of high quality specialty items. Here is a just a brief list of the things I remember seeing/smelling: lime sugar, vanilla sugar, raspberry sugar, peppermint sugar, black truffle sea salt, ghost pepper sea salt, about a hundred different BBQ and grilling seasonings, tarragon, thyme, cumin, spearmint, and a whole bunch of loose teas.
The store...
If you are in the city of Williamsburg, you are near this intriguing shop located on Prince George Street just a block from the Historic Area. The friendly owners have an amazing collection of teas and spices from all over the world. Many are packaged in a way that makes them beautiful gifts to take home to friends. But you'll...
Just walk in and sniff and you'll never buy supermarket spices again. These are fresh, properly stored and the difference that will make your dishes head and shoulders above your friends'. There are special blends, more varieties than you can think of - and a staff who can explain the differences. That makes a difference if you're serious about your...
the sign caught my eye and then the aroma dragged me in! If you love spices or teas, look no further, this is the place to be. Very friendly , very attentive without being overbearing. Wonderful tea selection. The scent alone is worth walking in for!
This is quite an superlative store that will suit many of your palatable desires. The smells alone will have you coming back for more and the customer service in some of the best in the area. The staff and atmosphere alike are warm, friendly and very inviting. Whether you are looking for basic spices to complex blends, exotic infused sugars/salts...
The first thing you notice is the wonderful smell of all the spices when you walk in the door! The staff is very welcoming and encourages you to open and smell any of the jars in the store, which makes for a very fun experience. The owners are often there and are very dedicated to their work and customers; they...
