Surprisingly good BBQ for being a semi-fast food restaurant. I would recommend the hush puppies and onion rings, but not the cole slaw on top of a sandwich, because it was pretty bland.

Had eaten here once before and it was... OK. Walked in tonight at 5:45p to eat before going to a concert..... Am told they stopped seating people at 5:40p because they close at 6p but I could order to go.... Talk about making a customer feel like they are not wanted, that's OK won't ever come back.

Came here today for the first time before a baseball game!! Food was excellent! The front staff was friendly and the gentleman walking around ensured we always had everything we needed! He even gave my boys two quarters for the gum ball machine when I didn't have any! Highly recommend! Great little establishment!

The Hushpuppies were spot on. The pork was really watery though and oddly spicy. They should also put a baby changing station in the bathroom.

Good food, decent value. Their pork may be a bit watery, but their sauce and their sides are first class. You can tell that all of the sides are homemade and are very good. If only they could make their pulled pork not be so watery, they would be perfect!

Disappointed. I went there when it first opened and I thought it was great! However, on subsequent visits the ribs just were not tender, but the chicken was delicious. After hearing they got Best in the Beach, I decided to give the ribs another try, and was still disappointed in how tough they were. :(

Well above average. OK, I'm pretty picky when it comes to BBQ. I've lived here long enough to forget my preference -- sliced, smoked beef brisket, realizing that me and my Brinkmann are the only way I'm getting what I want. That said, Smoked From Above is pretty damn good.

Just another in a string of Tidewater BBQ disappointments. That being said this is head and shoulders above Wood Chicks who should be in the BBQ Hall of Shame. Not really any difference between here and Malbons. Hush Puppies were good.
Guess on Monday I will give Tarheel Tommy's a whirl.
Tidewater area needs a good place for ""Q"". No Pierces is not the answer...

I went into this place just because of the smell from outside. The ribs, beans, coleslaw, pulled pork, brunswick stew and hushpuppies were all great. The chicken is a little dry though. I'm just happy that I found a place that had great brunswick stew and hushpuppies. It is too expensive though.
