The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, and it is in a wonderful location. However, rooms are not well sound insulated (as might be expected for an older building) and the bed was not comfortable.

My wife and I spent the weekend her because of a wedding we had to attend in Manchester, and wow what a wonderful hotel! Wow! The owner is so sweet! When we walked in she gave us a very nice tour of the hotel and we had a really nice chat about the history of Danby and the surrounding area. The restoration of the property appears to have stalled, and the overall condition is dilapidated. Breakfast is ordinary at best, and not at all as expected in the average B&B. Based on the rates charged, this is not a good value.
The Innkeeper Kathie is a delight-- an excellent maker of breakfasts who can brief her guests on the history of the town. The inn is authentic but run down. Kathie needs more help in getting it up to par.
