I rarely eat pancakes but I had them 4 days in a row! This is a hole in the wall kind of place but it's clean and the food is good. Service is excellent and they move your food out quick. If there is a wait, no worries, they turn tables fast. We went back every morning!

This place has good food for breakfast. Ate there twice while on vacation. Food was good, big selection, and reasonably priced. Eggs and hashbrowns were cooked to perfection. Ask for "Johnny" to get a super waiter! Pancakes are unbelievable!
The staff at the Ships Wheel were plenty friendly and kept the coffee flowing freely. I had a combo with pancakes. The pancakes are large, very thin and crepe like. They had a nice flavor to them. The hash browns were shredded potatoes; the outer layer was nicely crispy. The eggs were cooked correctly.
This places serves up a fantastic breakfast. They have many selections for breakfast, but the pancakes are especially good and gigantic! They also serve Country Ham which is a personal favorite. They open early, but keep in mind they only serve breakfast!
By far the best pancakes in the Outer Banks, almost a crape status.

The waitress was a little short with us, but the host was really cool and it was great place to catch a late breakfast. Coffee was served right a ways (much needed) and the food came our right after.
Always our favorite breakfast place! The sausage is fantastic- nice and lean with a great herb and spice seasoning. They also have a delicious "parmesan tomato" that's well worth the price, if you like grilled tomato with breakfast. The friendly staff and great coffee are the icing on the cake!

Ate here 3 of the 6 mornings while in the OBX and it was by far the best. Omelets are huge and they come with potato and toast/pancakes. They are stuffed full, not just a little bit that you can hardly taste.
Definately leave here full and it doesn't take a chunk out of the wallet.

Size isn't everything. They're small, clean, friendly, fast, delicious, worth the wait. Large portions, small prices. I eat there for every breakfast of every vacation and always recognize my server from years of visiting...going on 20+. The larger restaurants have nothing on the Ships Wheel.
