Great Seafood

Average Rating
100

I had the seafood platter and my mom had the BBQ sandwich platter. The seafood & BBQ were both very good. You got a lot of food, in fact we both brought half of ours home. They had good coleslaw & macaroni & cheese. I would definitely go there again. I would like to try their other sides as they...

Not to be Missed - YUM YUM YUM and I don't eat meat

Really excellent little country place with BBQ, fresh seafood, and lots of great side dishes and desserts. I cannot say enough good about the variety on the menu, the great service, and the cleanliness of the restaurant. I had the clam strips, cole slaw, potato salad, and fries. Ice tea was fresh brewed and the best. Plenty of food for...

Excellent collard greens, okra, cucumber salad and fries! Steamed shrimp lunch was great. We would definitely eat here again.

Good food, but a little pricey

The food was very good, but you have to buy just about everything a la carte. This adds up to quite a lot. Otherwise, was happy with the taste and amounts.

BBQ'd anything here is awesome

We had the combo plate (almost enough for two), which basically samples every meat they offer, plus the pulled pork sandwich.

Barbecue

Average Rating

They serve barbecue in a variety of ways either as a sandwich or as a dinner. You can also buy it by the pound. The atmosphere inside is all rustic wood with tables and booths, it's a very open area.

Really good home made food, friendly staff, & clean atmosphere that isn't overdone in pig decor like a lot of BBQ joints

A fairly new spot in Gloucester that has a "two thumbs up" from me! The brisket was very nice, they have really good fried pickles, and I had a bread pudding dessert that was to die for. The staff are super friendly. I especially like the old tool chest that is converted into a condiment station. Very clean all around.

Awesome barbeque, best baked beans ever

I found Scoots almost as soon as I moved to the area. What a great find it was! The barbeque is fantastic and Scoots offers a variety of sides. The sliders are especially good because it allows you to try the pork, chicken and brisket in one meal. The staff is friendly and their prices are very good. I recommend...

Awesome Food And Service, Best BBQ

Average Rating

If you haven't tried Scoot's what are you waiting for? They have the best bbq, turkey melt and brisket. The turkey melt is so big, you can't finish it all in one sitting. If they have their Brunswick stew available, it is a must as well. And of course don't forget their fried pickles, sweet potato fries and their homemade...

Good but Not Great

Since I had not been to Scoot's since early last year, I decided to go the other day for a late lunch/early dinner. It was a great time because they were not very busy so my wait was minimal. I ordered the Scoot's combo which consists of a bbq sandwich, coleslaw, a side, and a drink; I chose sweet potato...

Best BBQ I've ever had

Average Rating

Talk about a find! It's a small restaurant but the food is big time.
They had moist, tender brisket.
Succulent pulled pork and chicken
Great bush puppies, fried okra, greens and corn bread.
It's a must visit if you're in the area. You won't be disappointed. I've tried BBQ in Texas and Kansas and this place tops them.

Second Visit

Stopped by for a carry out order after my granddaughter's soccer tournament. As with our first visit, we were warmly greeted and our order taken quickly. The food arrived in a timely manner and was excellent.

Great barbecue

Average Rating

Service and food are really good. We usually order barbecue but decided to try the ribs. They were enjoyable, maybe skimpy on the size of the half rack, but we will probably order it again. We tried the fish which was huge and delicious. Prices were very reasonable.

Good BBQ

Good place to grab some bbq in Gloucester. Nice casual restaurant with good food and friendly staff. You order your food at the counter and they deliver it to your table. I ordered the pulled pork plate with fries and coleslaw. It was very good. I liked the fact that the pork came without sauce. They provided several types of...

Very good BBQ; need a little adult supervision

Nice, clean restaurant with a neat chalkboard wall to showcase the menu. Not particularly busy the day we visited (perhaps a third full) and appeared to be run by all teenagers who did a good job, but there seemed to be a clic which tended to hang out in a corner of the restaurant leaving only one girl (who appeared...

Went there last Saturday, 30 minutes before closing time. Placed our order was offered a table. 10 minutes if that our food came. I ordered the scotts special, large portion. The wait staff were young kids but very polite an helpful an in no hurry to kick us out. A large family of 10 walked in just as we walking...

Sorry everybody who put in a good review but I was not impressed. I did take-out. Got chicken bbq. It was awful. The serving was pathetic. Stuck in a corner of a large styrofoam container might have been 2/3 a cup of bbq. Then about 1 cup of very wet slaw that the roll sopped up before I got home...

Good bbq

We stopped at Scoot's for lunch today, and were quite pleased. Both of us ordered the bbq lunch special with collard greens and slaw. While the bbq pork was tender, We both wished it was not in the tomato-based sauce. Even though the sauce was good, we prefer Eastern Carolina vinegar based sauce, so we would rather have had the...

Right on US 17, north of Coleman Bridge. They have BBQ (pork & beef), pulled chicken, fried oysters, shrimp and seafood. Platters and sandwiches. Great Ice tea! Highly informal, you walk in, read the board, and order and sit down. Platters come with two corn muffins. Onion rings made from scratch are to die for. Many different sides including fried...

Great smell of the smoke pit greets you in the parking lot. Had the combo and throughly enjoyed the pulled chicken. Brisket was tasty, could use a little trimming of the fat but that is my personal preference. Pulled pork was good as well. Sweet potato fries were nothing special and need some refinement. Good house sauce and a very...

We have passed by Scoot's several times and finally stopped in. We were pleasantly surprised of how helpful, friendly the staff was and how very good the BBQ was- we will come back here often!

Very busy on Saturday afternoon. A local favorite. There is one combo available for their pork bar-b-que sandwich. A surprisingly extensive menu.
Very easy access as it is located on the corner of an intersection.

I've been here a few times. The BBQ is good, but not the best I've ever had. The prices are kinda high. They did have the best peanut butter pie I've ever had though.

Texas it Ain't

Average Rating

This is a new restaurant and all Gloucester is abuzz. It is set up like the famous brisket restaurants in Texas. My husband and I thought it was overpriced and confusing. Yes, it is a la cart, but there are no combination selections at all. This is where the over pricing comes in! The food was good, but nothing to...

Loved the BBQ sauce

This was the best BBQ we've had so far in Virginia. My husband had the pulled chicken and I had the ribs. We both loved their house BBQ sauce as well as the sweet and spicy chipotle sauce (really wasn't spicy at all but good flavor). We'll definitely come back for more.

My husband and I had brisket and fried oysters which were terrific. Everything was a la carte which is how we like it. Great slaw and beans. Fast friendly service. The interior was typical of a BBQ joint.

We have eaten at Scoot's probably 10 times since they have opened and have never had a bad experience. The food is very good and the sides are straight out of the south. I have had the pulled pork special and a hamburger and my wife has had the pulled pork, chicken and brisket sandwiches and all have been very...

Scoot's is exactly what it should be. The casual atmosphere is just right. The young people who work the front are charming. The offerings are plenty and there is something just right about this place.
The portions of food are ample and the pace of service is surprising for the volume of business they are doing.
I brought my neighbors...

It's Ok

I want to see this place do well, but I have to say it has been in-consistent in my experience. An example - the beef brisket was wonderful the first 2 times, but the 3rd time was not a charm. It was dry & chewy and in no way compared to the previous ones. I will definitely give them another...

We went for lunch. All was delicious. I had a brisket sandwich which came w/slaw on the side and I ordered collard greens as a side. One of the first places I've had greens where they are actually cooked correctly. The brisket was very tender and good. My daughter had a crab cake which was big and it was all...

Great barbeque

Fabulous! Based on the recommendation of a cousin, I stopped in to purchase dinner to go. The ribs were fantastic - fall off the bone tender with a great barbeque sauce. The pulled chicken was also great, tasty and flavorful. The corn muffins had just the right amount of sweet, the fried shrimp were lightly breaded and delicious as well....

Great BBQ

We met my wife's family here, it was the first time for all. I ordered the Beef Brisket sandwich, and my wife ordered the pulled chicken bbq sandwich. They both were awesome, and there were options of barbecue sauce, but my favorite was the Scoots brand, a very tangy, sweet sauce that made the sandwiches even better.
I lived in...

We've eaten at Scoot's 3 times. Each time, I ordered the pulled chicken. The first two times, it was delicious. The third time, it was extremely greasy. My husband has tried the seafood platter which he found to be good and the brisket which he said was "ok".. Sides don't come with the meals, they are an extra charge. There...

This was our 1st visit to Scoot's. We both had the combo which consisted of a BBQ sandwich, slaw, choice of 1 side and drink for $ 7.99. The BBQ was very good. My husband had the cucumber salad which was very good. I got the fries which were the crinkle cut style. They were also good. All the staff...

Scoots opened a real bbq joint in an existing building that previouslyhoused a long time catering/cafe business that closed. It is a real improvement. On several visits experience, I can recommend this restaurant if you want well made bbq and decent sides in a kind of rustic setting-just right for eating bbq. I have been a bbq lover for many...

The menu is on the chalk wall. You pay first then you go find a spot to sit.
After being settled at the table, our dinner came very quickly, maybe 3 minutes.
I ordered the brisket dinner portion for $14. I had four or five thick slices of brisket and two mini corn bread muffins. I was still hungry when...

We got there at noon on a weekday--and no line, no wait.
Staff was very helpful and cheerful! They seem to love where they work!
We sat in a booth--and the food we ordered was delivered.
The amount of BBQ for the price was excellent!
Sides were also...

Nice addition to Gloucester Point. Good food - especially the pulled pork BBQ. Great staff, courteous and helpful. Parking can be tight at peak times. Highly recommended.

Okay, I'll give it a second chance.... We ordered the Scoot's BBQ combo w/collards and a BBQ chicken sandwich (which you can't get in a combo) with a side of baked beans. The BBQ sandwich and collards were okay. The chicken sandwich and baked beans tasted like fake smoke flavoring. Prices weren't bad. I'll give it a second chance but think I'll order off the seafood menu next time.

Any Seafood?. Flounder would be nice and shrimp

Have found great BBQ and Brisket. Granddaughter loves their Chx fingers and Mac n Cheese. Only down side is chx fingers come with fries and if you want Mac n Cheese you cannot substitute you have to pay $2 for a side.
Everything is a la carte with regard to sides unless you get a combo which includes 1 side....

My BIL ordered to go and picked up food. They only gave half the order to him. He got back home to find only half the order was there. You think they would have added something to the order for the inconvenience. He went back and brought the food back. We couldn't believe the small portion for price. The ribs...

We stopped in on our way back from the airport. We live near here and every time we drive by the parking lot is packed. We found out why. My wife and I had the pulled pork combo and my wife's son had St. Louis Ribs half rack. All was very good. The pork was tasty and moist and the...

Parking is a premium so get there early. Don't wait for a hostess to seat you! Walk up and order at the register, then find a table and they will bring it to you. VERY good pulled pork samich! Food was very reasonable but nothing special. Nice atmosphere. we will try it again. Just opened. The BBQ was ok

Dont waste your time or money. No one to help you when you walk in the door (its like you are see through) Should have left then. They have a juvenile way of getting your order to you once you have figured out how to place it ( a system of cheap child like wooden numbered cut out pigs which if you don't figure out for yourself what to do with them you will never be served. When the servers...

Will give it one more try before I rule Scoot's out totally. My husband and I drive past Scoot's everyday and it always smells amazing! and parking lot is always packed. We decided to try it for the first time yesterday. I got the smoked turkey dinner which was a HUGE let down.... I received three small very dry pieces of turkey, so dry I could only eat 1 and a half pieces and two mini corn...

Great quality meat, but not a fan of'pre-sauced' BBQ

Average Rating

Very happy to see a BBQ restaurant come to Gloucester County, which provides great quality meats, sides and other local alternatives. However, we were quite disappointed to have our pulled pork sandwiches pre-sauced. We would much rather determine whether or not Scoot's sauce is part of my meal. Also would recommend slowing down the pulling process. My wife had a large...

We ate here tonight (April 21, 2015) for the first time and really loved the place (despite the glitch with not accepting credit cards). The owners were so apologetic! The grilled tuna salad is fantastic and the barbecue is to die for. We will have to go back many times to try everything on the menu.
