Schlotzsky's may sound like a New York joint, but the first link in this chain actually opened in 1971 in Austin, Texas. Their original sandwich on warm sourdough bread is still available, but today you can also choose from pizzas, salads, soups and a variety of other sandwiches such as the Texas Schlotzsky's on toasted jalapeño cheese bread or Angus Pastrami Reuben on toasted dark rye bread....

Of course Schlotzkey's is good. Their drive through customer service is absolutely terrible. Not friendly or respectful at all. They could take a tip from chick fil a. I'm a long time customer...

The picture of their sandwiches are deceiving in size. I expected it to be much smaller, but when I received it, I was delightfully surprised that it would take more than 4 bites to eat it all....

Yum city! I adore the soft and fluffy circle-shaped dark rye bread. The turkey sandwich is delicious on the dark rye. A worthy stop if you're in VA Beach!

About what you'd expect from a chain. WE made or order up, (Turkey, small Original, and Regular Original Combo). They somehow heard pastrami in there...

It's been to long old friend.. It has been to long since I've been to Schlotzsky's. I'll bet is been at least 7-8 years since I've stopped in. Due to where I was working in Ches it wasn't an option. All of that has changed now that I'm working in VB again.

Great choice for lunch or a light dinner. My favorite is the vegetarian on sourdough and the redskin potato salad.
