This is the first time I have ever written a review about a hotel, and I have stayed in tons of hotel. I felt I had to write a review because my stay here has been so terrible that I felt I had to warn any future guests. I paid for a week stay, and that has to be one...
This rooming house, because that's what it is, was the absolute worst I've ever stayed in. The rooms were filthy, they smelled terrible and who puts plastic on mattressess. We reserved 3 rooms for a one night stay just to have a place to sleep and shower for our family reunion. We did neither. It wasnt fit to sleep in...
The reviewers who said this place was 'okay' or 'decent for the price' must not mind filth and bugs. This hotel was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in within this area. The booking was last minute but I would have been better off sleeping in my car. The staff was not polite or helpful. The kitchen was absolutely disgusting...
This hotel was booked on a last minute search since the Marriott and all the other 4 star hotels were sold out. I gave it a chance thinking it wouldn't be that bad. How wrong I about that. Upon checking in I get into my room and immediately check beds for cleanliness. That's where I found Hair on covers and...
I have stayed at this property before, but at a much lower rate. I really liked the hotel and it's location, so I absorbed the Easter/Spring Break rate increase. Still the rate was a shock, given what I had paid last November and December.
I did not like it. The elevator was dirty. I had a non smoking room but it smelled like smoke
I don't recommend this this Savannah Suites. There appeared to be many long term residences, many of them hanging around the parking lot doing illegal things. The rooms are equipped with necessary amenities. However, nothing fancy. Breakfast and wifi were not provided.
The worse experience of my life was staying at this hotel. The hotel had a bad odor all through the hotel. There was kids running up and down the halls at 2am. You could hear everything through the walls. I would never stay there again.
It's a SHELTER,not a place to visit they had roachesand BEDBUGS noise all night no clean room service why wood they list this as a regular hotel when people go on vacation they want to relax .This is not fair to the to the people who book this place.they should not be able to book.
you should tell people. that this is a shelter, that has rochers and bedbugs no room service ,and a smell in hall and room ,no coffee in the morning
This is the worse place i ever stayed. Drugs being used openly constant noise on the property. This place is for section 8 and welfare people. No internet rooms are filthy bed bugs exercise equipment broken. You would be better off sleeping in your car. Signed up for a week and left after 3 days. No refunds. The local police...
This hotel was in a good location and no loudness at all.
We arrived at 11:30pm only to find out the hotel front desk closes at 11pm. When I called at 8pm to check on my reservation the clerk never mentioned the desk closes at 11pm she just said the reservation was fine its ok to check in late. I ended up calling their emergency number and a staff member showed up at the door as if I was bothering him. We finally got the keys got to the room and the...
It was in a nice place. I liked the style.\n\nThe hotel had a funny odor that I noticed right away. It seemed more like an apartment complex than a hotel.\n\nOn the outside it had a nice view and seemed very nice. The rooms were clean but did not seem to be up to date. The staff was friendly. I felt like I was in an apartment complex than anything else. You could hear thru the walls. The...
Me and my friends family have been here - when we go to Virginia Beach, Busch Gardens - He just booked the hotel looking at the kitchen facility, he may not have looked at the ratings...and I just relied on him. Finally, we landed in this hotel for two nights....I have been to many hotels around and but this is...
I stayed a few weeks back while on vacation, I had to be moved multiple times do to the ac not working in the rooms I was in, the fridge not getting cold in my second room, moldy mildew smell throughout, the rooms, the last time I went up to the front desk to be moved AGAIN other customers were...
We stayed at the Savannah Suites in Hampton, VA for the jazz festival. The blankets were old and dirty. The rug looked like it had never been cleaned, the mold smell was bad for my sinuses. No ice trays in the freezer. The front desk is not opened 24hrs. I was disappointed because I was recommened by a friend to...
When I initially bid the price was xxx, by the time the bid was accepted it was xxx, by the time i asked for a refund for their being no air conditioning it was xxx. Also there were two stars, now it shows one! BAD CHOICE\n\nI did not initially get the impression it was an extended stay. While the room was clean, and the appliances were new, the hotel smelled poorly, the room as well. There was...
Only the location. I wouldnot recommend this hotel to anyone, nor woul I ever recommend it to anyone.\n\nThe size of the hotel room, no wireless internet access, no minor amenities. Such as lotion or shampoo. Coffee maker didn't work. I would have appreciated one pack of coffee, although I brought my own.\n\nI rate this hotel as poor. I wish I had read the reviews before I booked the room I...
I just got back from the hampton concert for the weeknd of 06/28/thru 07/012013 I stay in the Savannah Suites hotel this hotel needs upgrade the the carpet smell like meldow the covers on the bed was dirty they had a second cover on the bad that look like it was something you could use to srub the floor with...
Was awakened at 6:30 am by the couple in the next room fighting. Apparently they've been living there for some time. A handwritten " Do Not Disturb" sign on thier door. Asked to be moved further down the hall for the next night. MISTAKE. The room had a door to the adjoining room. No matter how quiet they tried to be, you could hear everything. They finally turned off the TV just after midnight...
I already had reservations but I arrive at 10pm and the front desk was closed so I had to hunt down a maintenace man to get my paperwork and he had to let me in my room because he couldn't get a key. Which meant I could not leave my room bc I didnt have my own key. The refrigerator was noisy.
I think this hotel is more of an extended stay location. I went with this one because of cost. You get what you pay for. The Internet didn't work. There is an Ethernet jack in the room, no worky. I told the staff girl at the desk she didn't care or make any attempt to fix. The room smelled like smoking had occurred. I probably wouldn't stay there again
We were between 26 & 30 mins from beach. enjoyed small kitchen unit that came with room. Small discrepancies include: less than full roll of toilet paper in bathroom to start, white sheets not so white with highlighter marks, and something orange on edge of sheet...., sink stopper broken, towels and rags rougher than expected for hotel. Mostly conveniently located and affordable pricing.
Was ok. Just needed a clean hotel to stay in for Memorial Day at the last minute . Nothing special about it. Was good for what we paid for.
Maybe this location is better than the one in Newport News where I moved in after paying for a month and finding a filth...y room and bed bugs. After being blamed by staff from management, Linda Fisher, to VP of Operations Val Rubio and all the way to Owner Thelma Wilke for 'not following proper chain of command' by daring to send an anonymous email through the Savannah Suites website about the...
Worse hotel. Found bed bugs in the room. Had to leave and get a refund... guess u get what you pay for..
U need a get professional staff & customer service. The housekeeping staff stole all my jeans & drawls. Now that's nasty.
It was a pretty good stay, the room smelled like urine and cinnamon and the towels were tiny. But we appreciated the free parking and convenient location. The major issue is that there are some people permanently living there and were quite grumpy about the noise, considering every hotel in Hampton was booked up the entire weekend for the concert. I visited many other hotels and they were a lot...
Nothing\n\nEverything\n\nToo much going on. The people that live there think that it is actually okay to just lounge around.
floor stickywifi not wireless- need your own ethernet cablewalls paper thinone of worse stays ever
Overall, the hotel was one of the best i have staid in during the past trip. The room was great, the gym had most of the needed equipment, and the staff was excellent. The only thing this hotel did not have that most people would look for was a pool
There was nothing I liked about it at all.\n\nEverything!\n\n
This was the only hotel available at the time. No hot water, the room had a terrible odor, the sheets on the bed looked as if they hadn't been washed, very dingy and dirty looking, the carpet was filthy. It was just disgusting. The rate wasn't that cheap either. I ended up going to the Crown Plaza which is more my style. After...
Smells\n\nWould not recommend to anyone , hotel appears to be local hangout for locals .
The rooms was very clean and the staff was very helpful. I would stay there again when visiting Hampton. They didnot have breakfast at the hotel but you have alot to choose from near the hotel
The room was clean but out of date. No pest. Not a 2 star but its comfortable for a couple of nights stay. Only flaw is that you have to state a late arrival on reservation and call before you checkin because they are closed from 11pm-8am with no customer service but fortunately I asked for a late checkin and somebody was still there waiting on me. I was lucky that I called first because they...
The house keeper was very helpful. It was relatively quiet and we really enjoyed our stay.
I am happy to stay there, but I would not take my wife.
The hotel was dirty from the time you walk in the front door. There is only wired internet, not wireless and when one of the guest inquired about a Ethernet wire he was told they do not have any, it was mentioned to purchase some months ago but it did not happen. The refrigerator did not work, but they did switch it out with one that did the next day. The sink was broken and leaking all over...
Walls a bit thin. No cont. breakfast. No computer/printer access for airline pre-check-in.Beds comfortable and room clean. Great value if all you need is a good night’s sleep
Everything was very nice .I would stay here again.
MMM the hotel, is off the beaten path, ample of parking, rooms are small, carpets are dirty, children are screaming in the rooms (can't control this), no wireless internet, after about twelve midnight, it got quiet. no coffee in the room, It was a good price, I expected more, close to where our activity was located, would not recommend this to any of my friends or co workers. I just guess, my...
My problem is not so much with the hotel as it is with priceline's services. I drove 300 plus miles and booked a place to stay to no avail.
Lacked ice machines, no dining facility, no pool and the gym equipment was old and inoperable. The handicapped room decor was second class. The second room was beautifully decorated.
I was there to attend a conference. The hotel had adequate amenities. It provides affordable lodging for many local families so lodgers must be prepared for teen gatherings, children playing, babies crying, mothers scolding and an occasional bout of screaming with profanity. Those are not the usual experiences in other hotels.
I wish there were a pool and a pool table.
It's a great hotel but if any of you are looking to save some $$ then book it at referer.us/8/GoodHotelDeals They usually have some pretty good deals on there!
Enjoy staying at the Savannah Suites Hampton, was great assistance with our transition and move. I would strongly recommend to others.
The way the staff was VERy helpful. Usaully extended stay places are run down but not this one.
was clean and comfortable. stay there again
We had several special requests and the staff stepped up to the challenge. We plan on staying here again. The rooms were clean, nicely decorated and very spacious. All of our needs were met beyond expectations.
Good rates, friendly staff and convenience to town center, excellent.
Enjoyed my stay, would stay again and recommend Savannah Suites to friends and family:)
Tasha was a great receptionist.
The room was mediocre. The best part about the room was the two-burner stove, refrigerator, and microwave. The beds were pretty terrible - I heard the bed every time I moved, and felt like I was going to sink through the middle when I laid down. There was also only 1 bar of soap in a two bed room, and no lotion, etc.
I really enjoyed my stay, everything was wonderful!
Has a kitchnett with microwave and fridge.\n\nThe beds were really uncomfortable and cheap, kind of dirty..\n\nHotel is okay if your looking for a cheap place to stay but the room smell funny and are a little dirty and dingy. You can tell some people are living there so it's a pretty low-scale place.
Everyone here was veyy friendly and made my stay great! Will definetly recomend to friends.
Everyone here was very friendly and made my stay great! Will definetly recomend to friends.
The building was great however it sits kind of off sided of the main street and was very difficult to locate, the rooms next to me were very noisy all night, I could only stay one night there, I loved the price however, people allowed to sit out front of the hotel making it look dangerous at times. lots of children were staying there for some reason.
The services are exemplary for an establishment. The staff and managers are superb in attitude and style. The accommodations are reasonable to my needs and wants.
Front desk staff makes you feel like your at home. I think that the management is really nice. The housekeepers are getting better and they think about what they are doing before they do it. So in all the hotel is great.
I had a great stay here at Savannah Suites. I will refer it to friends family and return here my next visit to V.A. Over all this seems to be a very nice motel.
I locked my keys in my car the first night and the desk worker called maintenance and both helped to unlock my car. Having the Kitchenette was a big advantage. I was finally able to have home cooked meals while on the road.
I can’t speak for everyone but I travel a lot and get tired of eating out all the time! For me it was a great find. Convenient, clean, friendly and very reasonably priced.
This hotel is situated in a nice location down the street from shopping centers, movie theaters, Airport, and other activities. The suite was very clean and arrangemnet was excellent. For the price i was very please and would recommend this place to friends and family.
We definitely would not recommend this hotel. Let's put it this way, when the elevator door opened, there were 3 smelly trash bags escort us up. It desperately needed an overhaul. It's not worth the money. The upside, [...] (front desk clerk) was great!
I suppose the summer rates were not yet in effect for the price was excellent in contrast to other nearby hotels charging much more.
The hotel was clean, the staff was helpful, good central location for Virginia beach and Busch gardens, but the other guests could use some work. The walls are paper thin, which we found out our first night. Our next door neighbors were not trying to be loud, but we could hear everything going in their room. Further down the hallway, the parents felt like the common area was a great place to...
This hotel was decent for the price. Our room was the first room as you entered into the hotel so we heard the front door every time it closed and people coming in and out of the lobby. We were attending the Hampton Jazz Festival so we were within minutes of everything. There was plenty of restaurants, shopping, and we were about 10 minutes from downtown Hampton.
Bad neighborhood. Was afraid to stay there with my son. Had low class permanent residents as well. SCARY
good location, shopping and dinning
The first room provided for me had a cockroach on the bathroom floor. I returned to the front desk and the clerk offered me another room 2 floors above the first. The deadbolt in that room was broken, so she found me yet another room. She took me with her as she examined the room and bathroom completely, checked the locks, all the lights and the air handler. I stayed 2 nights in that room. ...
I found this hotel to be a great location for where I needed to go. It is set off the street and back a little but that made it nicer for me. It was very clean and the staff helped me with directions to my morning meeting. Here's what I liked. Clean room, helpful staff, good inernet and a very good price.
Motel was difficult to find (behind & between two other motels) Halls were filled with loud young people until after midnight.Small kitchen had not even one pot or pan. We moved out after two nights. This motel would not be a bargin if it were FREE!!
The room was dirty ,the sheets and blankets were also dirty.I would not recommend this hotel to a dog
The hotel reminded me of a truck stop. Not a great experience, and definitely overpriced.Do yourself a favor, don't stat here.
The Savannah Suites was great and located very close to the Hampton Coliseum. The room was very spacious and the staff was kind and helpful with needed.
My family and i visited va for a concert the hotel was clean and comfortable. It was nicely located on a main strip full of nice places to eat and shop. The hotel staff were very friendly and did not give me any attitude when i requested a room change. I would certainly recommend this hotel. And am looking forward to staying there again.
