Help us make it rightthe tag says it all. we've been around and have found that this is that pizza we'll return to every week
I used to LOVE this place but after today..probably won't eat here again. I don't know if they have a new cook or something but my food was horrible. I had been craving a Philly Cheese Steak from this place. Was not satisfying at all. The tomatoes tasted old ..The steak wasn't seasoned...very disappointed.
You might not expect much from a strip-mall pizzeria in Suffolk but Sal's is on the move UP! We've has some great dinners here this year. Chef Pasquale brings his culinary skills from Italy and he never disappoints. Food is plated nicely, even the salads. We had one of the specials the other night: filet mignon stuffed with crab and...
First thing first...make sure you visit Sal's by Maurizio's on Main St. (There are 2 "Sal's" in Suffolk...this is real one). I've ordered from Sal's three times and have not been disappointed. The pizza is great..and the large is really a large (not Dominoes "large"). Fresh cheese and sauce and meaty ingredients. The baked ziti is awesome and once again,...
While visiting town, me and my husband stop by for a couple slices. The prices are cheap, the pizza is delicious and they also offered us a couple of complimentary garlic knots while we waited for our slices to come out.
The Sal's on Main St in Suffolk is the authentic Sal's and remains the best pizza in the area....as long as it's made properly. It seems the pizza quality varies depending upon the cook. Recently they hired a new cook, and the pizza wasn't good at all. Same with the Greek Salad...hit or miss. Ask for Daniel (good server).
The rolls and pizza are SOOO good! It's conveniently located in the Big Lots shopping center. The staff is super friendly. The furniture shows some wear, but the food tastes spectacular! And you can hardly beat the price- my family of four ate here for $20 (including a generous tip)!
We've tried nearly all the pizza around and Sal's is the best...tender yet crisp crust, great sauce, generous with the cheese, good variety of toppings. We usually use take-out service so I can't speak for the table service, but I highly recommend Sal's pizza.
their pizza is very good but sal's Stromboli is as good as you will find anywhere..service is good but the real Italian food is off the hook
There was a staple in my pizza and when I told Daniel about it, she was not at all surprised. I had to give back all the food (gladly) and they were rude and nasty. My tongue still hurts.
First, there are 2 Sal's, and I can't figure out if they are a chain. This Sal's is on Main Street in Suffolk next to the Big Lots. We ordered a 24 inch extra large cheese pizza for pick up. I have never seen a pizza box quite that large! The crust is hand-tossed and just the right balance of...
Good family atmosphere. Food was good and the service was pretty good as well. Can get busy in the evenings.
My husband and I were drawn to Sal's by restaurant.com voucher. We live nearer to the Suffolk location than the Virginia Beach location and they let us use the voucher. We enjoyed spaghetti with clams in a white wine sauce along with the Pasta Trio of manicotti, lasagne and penne with their homemade marinara. Both meals were ample and delicious....
We ordered a pizza with 3 toppings for delivery to our hotel. The pizza arrived on time, was hot, and fresh. The pizza was good. The crust had a bit of a crunch, but more would have made it a cut above. The sauce was good, too. Based on our pizza experiences and taste this pizza was average, tasted good,...
Stopped in for lunch the other day. Be prepared to wait a while. The waiter and waitress are super busy and fast and get you your drinks quickly. The back dining room is a little small. The salads were quite good, The chicken philly was a little dry and needs something to moisten it up. I didn't have any pizza...
While decorating for our daughter's reception we had to make a food and supply run. While at the store we asked were we could get some pizza and we named some pizza chains we know. The store representative said you have to go to Sal's! We went and we all loved the pizza. Great value and worth the trip!
Sal's is in a strip mall with Big Lots and Dollar Tree on Main Street. It is very casual and very busy. The food is typical, decent small pizza-with-entrees. Service was attentive in spite of it being very busy.
I just moved to the area not too long ago from NY and I have to say that this place reminds me of home! The prices are fair too. I usually get take-out rather than dining in, and the small red head behind the counter was very nice and helpful when I wanted to try new things and asked for...
We've eaten at the restaurant and the italian food was average, nothing special. Unfortunately I could see through the window outside where the food was being prepared and the kitchen didn't look all that clean. The windows were dirty, the floor was dirty. I wish I hadn't looked through the window. Pizza is tasty though.

Whether you’re in the mood for some soul warming Italian spagetti, eggplant parmesan, a great overstuffed sub sandwich, or just a good old American hamburger, you can find it all at Sal’s! Starting with the best appetizers, like all flavors of WINGS, and working your way down the menu, it’ll take you most of the year to try all the fantastic tasting foods he and his friendly staff create and...
Me and my son went there when they first open and not even a hurricane could stop them from being one of the best places for awesome pizza and Italian cuisine. We always order our usual 14" cheese pizza and wings with the most FANTASTIC, CRUNCHY (need I go on) french fries in Virgina. We simply Love Amy!!!!
Great Wings, Pizza,
Not fine dining but its good
Awesome food. Ordered a calzone large size they should have said it was a monster size. It was enough for 2-3 greedy people. Lol.
Overall, a decent place to go. Plenty of seating, good food and nice atmosphere.
Is is "fine" dining? No. But it's classic Italian food and consistent quality.
The pizza is good, most of the time. Did recieve undercooked pizza one time. Service is not very friendly and most of the time it is younger people working in there who are playing around and not doing their job!
Great food and lovely atmosphere
Really great place to eat! Family oriented business with great employees. The food is always awesome and for a really great price. If you want great pizza, this is the place to go.

We were new to the area in August of 2008, and were delighted to find Sal's...
I thought I'd try out this place since it's relatively new to the area. Since moving to suffolk, I haven't been able to find a decent piece of pizza. Sal's pizza was a little on the dry side and the salad I ordered didn't have any dressing. I'll give them a second chance but so far I'm not impressed. Still better than pizza hut however.
I am a very picky pizza eater and was not sure that Sal's was as good as what I am use too.. I'm from Chicago and never had Dominoes and pizza hut b4 getting to Virginia... Nothing but mom and pop joints, so when i ran up on Sal's, I can honestly say that their pizza is the best i've had since Chicago.. Customer service is fgreat and the prices are even better.. Wait time is a little long but...
Sal's Pizzeria is a Italian/American, Vegetarian, and Italian restaurant where most Menuism users came for fun with friends, paid between $10 and $25, and tipped between 15% to 18%.
