Terrible

DO NOT EVER MOVE IN HERE! The place is an absolute nightmare. Read all the other reviews ain't a one of them lying.

I had property stolen while I lived here.

The people who work up in the office are rude and terrible with service. Nobody communicates with one another. They leave out little details that will cost you extra money.

Maintenance rarely does anything effectively.

They try to charge you outrageous fees when you move out. Make sure you takes lots of pictures before you leave because they never actually do a "move out inspection". The people who work here and the company itself are a bunch of crooks.

I could go on and on, but it's just a repeat of the other reviews. Do not move in here!

Hi! I was really hoping to post a picture onto here, since I made a new friend tonight! Actually the 6th new friend in the past 3 weeks. My friend(s) are wasps of some flavor, who have come to visit my apartment! And by that, I mean inside my apartment! How sweet is that? Pretty awesome, I know! Now, I have informed the property manager, back when my wife, who is highly allergic, as well as...

I really wish I wouldn't have moved here. It's been a joke. This place is very cheaply constructed and the walls are almost paper thin so when someone yells or plays loud music I can hear it all. The people they have come and "paint" get paint on almost everything. The entire perimeter of my bathroom mirror has paint on it. The appliances definitely need to be updated. The carpets are old and...

Everything was fine and dandy until the move out. They said the inspection was fine and then slapped on almost $700 for new carpet. Looks like I'm not the only person who they've gouged. Find somewhere who isn't as shady!

When I lived there they were on top of 90% of the maintenance needs. After I moved out they didn't do a final walk through with me when I turned my keys in. And I did ask for that to be done. They are trying to charge me for a carpet replacement! I was there for 8 months!!! The place was left spotless!

Been living at runaway for six months now and we love it! We moved from the streets of greenbrier because they were extremely rude and the complex had way too many rules. It's cozy, quiet and super dog friendly!

Starts out fine but if you plan on staying longer than a year, don't do it. No upgrades or incentives to renew your lease. Rent goes up every year and your share of the water bill gets higher every month. Frequent water outages with no warning. No snow removal in the winter. No salt on sidewalks. Management and after hours security do nothing about noise complaints. Dog owners do not pick up...

I contacted the leasing office about their available apartments. The woman that was helping we was very nice and quickly provided me with their available units and a quote for the monthly rent. It was a bit higher than the advertised pricing, but that was due to the short term lease that I needed. The problem came after I submitted my application and was contact by another representative, who...

I've been in my new aprtment at Runaway Bay about a month now and since I've moved its been an struggle coming home. The entire team from maintenance, office personnel to management are extremely courteous. What few issues I've had they got to them immediately. This was the first complex that I found that didn't have major pet restrictions as I have a 100lb English Bulldog. The ladies at the front desk are very helpful and friendly. My initial background check came back funky and the lady that helped me initially got ahold of her manager and I was able to move in a week later. The maintenance crew is very helpful and willing to discuss and fix any problems I have. Parking is good, lots of under tree Parking but the covered private spots are cheap.

I've been living here nearly 8 years and I appreciate that you are trying to make improvements - events within the community, trash service - but I would like to see your energy focused on things like cleanliness, noise issues, rats, repairs and upgrades. I have the same old appliances and dingy carpet (it wasn't new) that I had when I moved in. People coming in after me have newer things. Snow and ice removal/treatment in the winter is awful. I've had rats in my walls for 4 months now and no repairs made to the gaping hole in my balcony despite numerous calls. My downstairs neighbors are noisy chain smokers and I can hear/smell them through the walls/floor. There are no penalties for people who don't clean up after their dogs. Young people blast car stereos in the parking lot and tell me to eff off when I ask them to turn it down. It's just sad because this could be such a nice place. I can't afford to move so I feel stuck. I'd love a new fridge and dryer that isn't so loud that I can't hear the television. I got a free carpet cleaning in 2014 but the dude was in and out within 20 minutes and as soon as the carpet dried, the stains came back. Maintenance calls me the "lady who feeds the squirrels" like I committed a horrible offense by feeding them years ago. I'm looking forward to seeing more improvements and pray you will not make me risk life and limb once the weather gets bad trying to walk from my apartment to my car on ice-packed sidewalks. Thank you for listening.

I really like Runaway Bay. It's in a great area. The only issues I have is the lightpole outside of my building has still not been fixed. It was brought to the office's attention at least 3 months ago or more and around 3 times. Also, there was broken glass outside of my building that no one would come out to clean up. I think these 2 things are important because it puts the residents and pets at risk.

I have been a resident since May 2008. Over the years, I've seen the apartment complex fluctuate with the type of service it offers. I am impressed with the new trash services and monthly newsletters. I am happy to see that you are offering tenants events. The office staff is polite and friendly. Now, to the things that need improvement. There is no policing of the leash law or poop scooping. Every single day I witness dogs running freely in the complex and have come close to hitting one or two with my car. There are mounds of dog feces all of the lawn and on warm days, the odor rises up and into my apartment. I have had the same appliances for over 7 years and they were already easily a decade old when I moved in. No upgrades for existing tenants. New tenants get new stuff. Lack of attention to snow removal and sidewalk treatment in the winter is disappointing and dangerous. When the snow is slushy and easy to remove, they do nothing. Then, it freezes over and everything is a sheet of ice and then they say it's too cold to treat. Every winter. EVERY winter. Last winter, I paid someone to come and clear a small path to my car because they wouldn't do anything and I am physically unable to do it. I was advised by the office staff that they are not required to do snow removal. That should not be an excuse. My gutters are overflowing with leaves and debris and water runs like a sheet onto my balcony when it rains. I had a recent run-in with a rat living in my wall and using my balcony as a playground. Their solution was to put a cruel glue trap on my balcony and tell me to give them a yell when something gets stuck. Thank God nothing has. My next door neighbor states she hears the rat in her wall now. Maintenance has not repaired the hole in my siding or screen door that the rat made. I had similar issues three years ago and it took calling the city inspector to get a response. The water is frequently turned off due to one repair or another with no advance warning. The water bills seem incredibly high. There are no perks or discounts for renewing your lease. I was able to get a free carpet cleaning last October and the cleaner was in and out in under 15 minutes and as soon as the carpets dried, they looked like nothing had been done. Sadly, it's more costly to move so I overlook all of the negatives, but I think others should be aware of these items.

The apartments themselves are nice however, the shortage of resident and visitor parking is God awful and if you want an apartment complex with a gym don't bother because though there's a gym in the complex you'll die before receiving a key card, I've been asking for months and they recently created a list and I was told when someone moves out I'll receive a key card. Needless to say I was in awe of what I was told and simply gave up. It's really just crumby service and face smiles from the employees that make it bad the apartments are nice the neighbors are all really friendly and a joy to be around all very helpful people they residents make it worth while.

I enjoyed my time at runaway bay. I NEVER had a problem with maintence or the staff what so ever. Some people are just so picky. This is an apartment not a home. The maintence came quick when i...

I have been living in Runaway Bay for almost a year and a half, and have not had a single problem with the complex. It is a great place to live, and the housing and maintainence staff are very friendly and helpful with any requests or questions I have. The grounds are well kept, clean, and nicely landscaped, and the pool is great. The gym is nice and conveinently open all the time. In addition...

I have been here a little over 3 months and am like the other person on here and trying to find some legal way to get out of my lease. This place is horrible minus the staff! I had a honest to god legit reason to pay rent on the 2nd, and the have NO grace period. I thought that was really wierd and I called around to other complexes and Woodshire right next door has till the 5th also, along...

I lived at Runaway Bay for a year and I honestly had no complaints. Anytime I had a issue regarding the apartment the office offered assistance within that moment. They were very upfront with their expectations upon moving in and gave us proper notice of the upcoming water bills as the months progressed. Parking and noise were not an issue in my building, all of my neighbors were friendly, and...

To be honest I dont know why so many bad reviews. My family and I lived here off and on( from husbands deployments) for 4 years and rarely had any issues. Its quite, good location, and has a nice layout. The grounds are kept up very well and is nice to cookout by the scenic pond. The consultants are always very nice and professional. I would highly recommend to all.

Right off the bat I noticed my apartment was probably redone in about 2 hours. Like a coat of paint and that's it. It stunk really bad. The dumpsters are. Always over flowing, rodents always by them. A lot of navy guys who party. I've complained so many times, I've even said things to them. Neighbors up top throw their cigarette butts in my yard at the bottom. Parking is not fun at all....

The size and layout of the apartment is acceptable compared to other local apartments. However the only thing that had been truly cleaned when I moved in were the carpets. I had to basically clean the apartment myself upon move in. The "patch" work that was done prior to move in was a joke. There was paint splatter everywhere, they attempted to repair two huge chips in the sink-leaving a basin...

Was the first apt we looked at after moving from my parents so it was exciting to us. Right across the street from them, located in the middle of everything, and looked really nice. The rent price is crazy for the actuall apartment. Everything is very basic, needs to be upgraded like NOW. Old dishwasher, washer, dryer, and stove. Landscaping is nice and kept up quit often. I have kids and there...

I lived at Runaway Bay for two years and the only pleasurable part was dealing with the upbeat, friendly leasing consultants. Visitor parking is horrid and the towing company is onsite several times a day looking into peoples cars "checking for decals." Apparently this place provides housing for students that attent ATI, and if you're lucky enough to live near a group of them, be prepared for...
