We have been visiting Rockafeller's for about 5 years. The past time we went will probably be our last. Though the food is good the service was much less than expected. Once being treated poorly by a member of the wait-staff the manager contiuned the behavior. I can usually overlook a bad experience or two but the behavior was beyond that. I do not want to give a business my money that is willing to treat patrons so rude.
One of the best seafood resturants at the beach! You can't go wrong with Rockafellers!
Our party of 5 was promptly seated. Service was above average. The food was excellent. The Caesar salad, and seafood gumbo were very good, as was the Crab Norfolk, a seafood trio, and the Crabcake combo (although the crabcake had a bit more filler than I like). No room for dessert. A bit high on the price side but well worth the trip.
The Down East architecture of this local favorite with double-deck porches hints at the seafood that's available. The view across Rudee Inslet slips was very pleasant during our late evening dinner. Service was impeccably provided by Andrew. The dinner and cocktail menu options were plentiful but not overwhelming. The options were available in multiple preparations. We're had blackened flounder and Ben's Bowl. Both were excellent for portion size and flavor. Five stars!!
Food was great, it was hot when it arrived and very flavorful. Wait staff were polite and quick to get what you needed. We have been going there as a group (I usually have anywhere from 10 to 30 people go each year.) This year was one of our smallest groups due to low attendance at our function, not because of the restaurant. Keep up the good work!
Service was great and Rockafeller's was a great start to our evening getaway in VA beach. The food was once again exceptional and the new drink specials were wonderful. They never disappoint!
Waiter was not attentive. In his defense he had a LARGE table in addition to our party of 2. Our food did arrive hot after a long wait. Our final drink order was forgotten. Explainations/excuses/apologizes expressed.
We had a wonderful family dinner. This pace was recommended by a local and it was great. I had the Trio platter and my husband had the local catch special. Nothing disappointed. Our server was great and even my 8 year old enjoyed her dinner. I will go back next time I am in Va. Beach.
For years, this is my "go to" spot for simple, fresh, properly prepared seafood. Beautiful view of Rudee Inlet, good service, good food..........what else could you want? We go often and in over 25 years we have had only 1 disappointment, and that wasn't a terrible situation. We'll be back soon.

Have gone there last 4 years since was our tradition visiting Sandbridge. Wanted to sit on deck but not available ..it was not open. I had a pasta seafood dish. Absolutely no flavor. Like tomato from a can. My husband had crab cakes They had filler. Salad boring. 80.00 before tip.

Have come here once a year for many years for the Thursday night lobster special. Ambiance and service are still top shelf, the lobsters were not up to the past quality.

We always try to get to Rockafeller's when we're in Va Beach on a Thursday night for the amazing lobster special. You sometimes need to get there early before they run out. we had a great table outside on the deck with a view of the marina. Lobster's were great, service good too.
Food was ok but it was crowded with small tables and we were in the fartherst corner served by the bar. There were several flies alive and dead trying to escape so that was quite unappetizing. We got the two lobster special and while we had to crack them ourselves, it took up several plates and much space not leaving much space for anything. It’s just felt crowded and uncomfortable.
My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. We both had the oysters Rockefeller and garden salads. Our server was very nice and efficient. We will be returning soon!

I was disappointed in the food; it really wasn't very good compared to other restaurants in the area. The food was just okay - I got the crab cakes and was excited for those. But it was lack luster to say the least and had a bit too much filler. The service was impeccable though...I will say that our waiter was on top of his game and really did a great job.
