Richardson's is always a great place to eat. The food, especially the seafood, is tasty and served quickly. The desserts are "out of sight" and yummy. Whenever I am in Mathews, I love to eat there.

Fantastic food I had the steak tip salad and it was enormous!

We come here every time we visit my dad in Cobbs Creek--it's THAT good! Never had a bad meal here. The variety is awesome, and the atmosphere is adorable.

You really can't go wrong here. I was shocked at the talent of the cooks/chefs. These people move rapidly to feed and serve everyone, but the food is served "just right". Imagine a crabcake larger than an 8 oz. hamburger with a secret sauce and sides of coleslaw or potato salad, deserts if you still have room, and everyone treated...

The restaurant was not full but it took at least 10 minutes for our server to take our drink order. No eye contact, no discussion of the specials, no how are you, etc. There was a man who may have been the manager--walking the floor, talking with dinners--I'm not sure what his purpose was as he never spoke to us....

Has an old diner feel and is the original site of a restaurant in Mathews from the 1940-1950s. They have a soda fountain, make homemade sundees and milkshakes.

They have awesome coconut shrimp and the fried shrimp are great, too! The coconut shrimp are only available if they are on special. The onion rings always hit the spot. If you have room, you must try the Double Chocolate Torte.....YUMMM!!

Building is an old drug store. Homemade dinners and great sandwiches. Lots of photos of early Mathews. Good fried oysters, homemade milkshakes and limeades, and friendly staff. Very clean dining room and restroom.

Richardson's was a Pharmacy in the older years on Main Street in Mathews, Va. It has since been converted to a local family Restaurant .. The food is very good and ranges from Burgers & Sandwiches to Steaks and Seafood Dinners. The decor is old town Mathews with photographs of days gone by of main Street and the local businesses...

Set in an old drugstore the soda fountain provides a bit of nostalgia for times past. There is a variety of food options which are good, reasonably priced and served quickly. It's a very casual diner type atmosphere.

Awesome food!. Best bacon-cheeseburger I've ever eaten! I love this place. Quaint, historical, excellent food! My sister-in-law and I had lunch here, went shopping, & came back later for lattes and dessert. Not our first visit and it won't be our last! The quiche is wonderful. Fresh asparagus the day we were there - delicious!

Terrific Surprise!. My husband and I, along with our neighbors enjoyed the Market Days festival in the town of Mathews today. We stopped into Richardson's Cafe with the intention of only purchasing some ice cream. I was expecting this place to have a simple sandwiches, sodas and ice cream of menu. Once I saw they had Poblano-Crab soup, I just had to try some! WOW! I was blown away. Their menu...
