Help us make it rightWe loved this place! The pho and egg rolls were amazing! The service, was very good, despite things lost in translation. We will definitely be returning!
Waiter wouldn't let us pull up a chair for five to sit outside. Sat inside decor is as bland as the broth of the Pho. Have read over the recipe for Pho online and they sure missed most of the seasonings. It was fun adding fixings and soup was filling. It was tasteless and agree with some of the other...
I must be forthright. I grew up on the west coast and eating southeast Asian food. Therefore, I am a little critical of Vietnamese, Thai, Malaysian etc. food. This place was just "ehh" to me. The food was okay, but not particularly good. It was really lacking something, I can't quite describe what it was.
However, the service was excellent....
Visiting area, craving lemongrass chicken Bun. Noodles over cooked, meat didn't look or taste like chicken. Disappointed.
A friend said I had to try this restaurant for lunch. He liked a dish that contained tripe. I am an adventurer and the soup was excellent. The dessert was also very good as was the service.
Expect a limited (but expanding) yet authentic menu, generous portions, at an extra reasonable price. Nice family owned staff, authentic beverages as well, and Chimay for $4.25? Wow.
Wish there are more items on the menu. Noodle soup is always my comfort food. I love a pho place that serves a full menu. I have been driving around Hampton Road to find a good pho restaurant. Half of them that I found is under the same owner who owns the Pho 79 chain. Their pho is good but I get tired of their very limited choices on the menu. There should be more items than what they have to...
I finally got a chance to check this place out and enjoyed the food there. Since I was dining solo, I opted to sit at the small bar I managed to take up all by myself.
Got the Pho Nåm, Gân, Sách, which was the Noodle soup with well-done flank, soft tendon and bible tripe. That may not seem like...
Wife and I went for Saturday lunch about three weeks ago. It's in a great location surrounded by a myriad of other ethnic restaurants. The interior is very nice, unlike the spartan interior at the Aragona location. The pho was f***king good!!! I also ordered a banh mi sandwich. I would have enjoyed better if there were jalepeno peppers on the sandwich which was lacking. A great addition to the...
Good food, great value. Diverse menu with many healthy options. Efficient takeout service. Dining in was acceptable but I have experienced better service.
excellent food and very friendly and resonable. I will return often.
My first bowl of Pho. This was my first Vietnamese food. I thought the Pho and the spring rolls were delicious, and I'll definitely be going back for more.
I went to Pho 79 on the recommendation of some friends. I found the cuisine interesting. The first half of the bowl I was thinking "this really isn't anything spectacular'. The further into the bowl you get the tastier the broth seems to become. There is no exploding of the senses when eating this food. However you walk away feeling...
Great Vietnamese food is now in Ghent! Had takeout Banh Mi Sandwich and Soup. The sandwich was delicious, fresh tasting and full of flavor. The soup was hot and made with fresh vegetables and delicious pork and meatballs that they gave you on the side so it wouldn't get wilted and mushy on the way home.
