Still The Best Pizza - Virginia Beach

Average Rating

I have reviewed Primo before. As a Philadelphia transplant followed by a few years in New York, that sets a very high bar for pizza authenticity. I have tried over a dozen pizza locations in Virginia Beach and find Primo to be the most authentic - flavor and crust characteristics.

Primo is great when you don't feel like cooking or going out. Great pizza with a delicious crust, pasta dishes, and prompt delivery.

I was referred to Dominick and his Primo Pizza Restaurant by my brother in-law to cater my wife's surprise 50th Birthday Party. I had approximately 85 guests attending and I wanted it to be good authentic Italian food. Baked Ziti, Chicken Marsala, Chicken Picata, Bread, and a nice salad with choices of homemade dressings. My guests were not disappointed. Dominick...

Primo’s is an excellent Italian restaurant with two locations in Virginia Beach. We ate at the Primo’s on Princess Anne Road at South Plaza Trail. Primo’s is a typical Italian restaurant with a bar and carryout counter. The restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was good. The restaurant can be noisy, especially when it’s very crowded on the weekends, but...

We had been going to Primo Pizza over the last 20 years. First at the original location on Baxter Rd; then to the current location and even more frequently, the satellite location off Nimmo Parkway. The food is usually very good, except it was very inconsistent at the Red Mill location. So, on January 4, 2016, we opted to go...

Almost immediately after my wife and I had a pizza there both of us had DIARRHEA. I called the place the next day, and spoke with the manager " Stephanie". I explained to her what had happened, and what we ate. Stephanie's conclusion was "the Flu is going around", and taking no responsibilities. No problem Stephanie. We won't be back.

Update on the pricing being wrong...I called 4 times to discuss why our bill was so much. I kept being transferred to a girl that said she was the manager, she hung up on me 3 times in the middle of me explaining my problem...(I was being nice even, not rude, just explaining that we were confused on pricing due...

As a first time visit, it proved to be my last. Ordered a caprese salad. Tomatoes were not ripe, but the flavor was doable when I saw what I thought was a speck of black pepper begin to walk along the top of my mozzarella cheese. There was some sort of bug with wings like a flying ant on my...

My husband and grew up eating New York pizza and are always searching for that taste of home. We have tried many pizza restaurants in the area but Primo is by far the best. We always share one of their outstanding Greek salads. Service is great.

Probably the best NY Style pizza in this particular area. Every pie is perfection. They also have a great little bar and restaurant area with a nice yet casual laid back feel with great Italian classic fare. I have tried everything from their Veal dishes, to pastas, pizzas as well as their hot sandwiches. They always put a smile on my face.

This has become our "go to" spot for Italian food and great pizza. The menu offers excellent choices and the service is attentive, pleasant, without being intrusive. Excellent Food and Service. Primo pizza has always been a good place to get a slice of pizza over the years, but they have truly built their restaurant into a local powerhouse that serves top notch italian dishes with super tasty pizza. Locals favorite.

We've always enjoyed Primo whether for pizza or pasta. The atmosphere is nice, the menu quite varied and portions are enormous. I plan on taking half home for later. Locals love this place - don't let the strip mall location fool you. It is quite nice inside. The lunch menu is surprisingly reasonable for the substantial portions. Lasagna and iced tea, $10.50. I have been a loyal Primo customer for years and even wrote a favorable review on TripSAdvisor. Something went wrong today. Food quality was up to their standard; however, the service was very slow and neglectful. When I called later for the name and fax numbver of their General Manager to register my concerns, I was cut off. Very disappointing!!

This place seems to want to be authentic and at the same time appeal to the different palate of the southeast and comes up with something a little better than the rest in Hampton Roads, though definitely not up to the standard of the northeast. My wife and I stopped in for lunch and it was just simply delicious. The garlic knots for a starter are the only way to go, followed by the lasagna and some baked ziti. The pizza here is superb as well and great in the restaurant or for carry out. This is a must visit for your next trip to...

Yummy pizza, friendly service. Try one of the Italian lemon sodas - they are great! Built a custom pie with feta, peppers and spinach. Good stuff!

Great food, but below par service.. Primo's has really great food (and pizza), however, like the other posters have noted, the service is really sub-par. People say you have to wait in order to great food, however, Primo's takes it to the limit. Even though you wait what seems like forever, the food will come out nice and hot, but that makes you wonder...is the kitchen just taking their time or...

This is their new location at Brennan Farms Shopping Center at the intersection of South Plaza, Princess Anne and Providence. I regret that I don't recall our servers' name but he was excellent - friendly, very attentive without being bothersome. I highly recommend for an easy, no frills dinner out.

Long time customer. I have been coming here since I was 10. and 20 years later Primo's still has the best ny style pizza in town. Real cheese. Also the Greek salad is by far my favorite anywhere. Only Ynot can come in at a close second. As far as other menu items, the garlic knots and mussels are great. Have never really ventured past these old standby's

So my wife and I have walked past Primos numerous times and it has smelled wonderful, so we finally went. Our experience...ehh. First we ordered calamari with our drinks. Service was extremely slow. Our server was abrupt and somewhat rude and all the time my wife and I never even knew her name.
