Great first experience. My steak came to the table sizzling and it was very good.
Atmosphere is good. Steak was a little under cooked, Had to send back so did the couple at the table next to me. A little under seasoned as well. My wife enjoyed her seafood dish and the sides were pretty good.
Very upscale and friendly staff! Really amazing food too!
We ended up here after struggling to find a nice place that stayed open later than 9 p.m. What a great vacation find. Service was attentive and pleasant despite our late arrival. Great ambiance in the outside seating area at night. Food was delicious. Brie pecan appetizer was out of this world. Seafood bisque and cheese/potato soup were both excellent. Steaks cooked perfectly with just the...
We went here for the first time 03/23/2018. The ambience was really nice. The service gets a 5 rating. Our server Anna was great and was very sensitive to our need to leave by 7:30 pm to catch a concert. I didn't think much of the pastry bag filled with butter. With as much elegance as she could muster, Anna squirted the butter out of the bag into two nice blobs on the butter dish. Anna...
Great meal... perfect filet. Excellent service. Darrick professional at all times.
WEnt for an early Valentine dinner. Service was outstanding and the food matched. One of the best steaks I have ever eaten. My wife had the rockfish and that too was excellent. Great place for that special occasion outing.
Excellent food; steaks done perfectly as ordered. Side dishes great. Classic "old-school" style steakhouse with some modern touches.
I've been to this restaurant twice now with my wife, and yes the food is good, but for what you pay I'm not sure the value is there. Dinner for two with one cocktail is about $130+, so be prepared for an expensive night out.
Always a great lunch menu. Steak has always been cooked as requested.
Absolutely fantastic! Great food and service definitely worth the $$
Opus9 offers a lovely environment, quiet with excellent service and delicious food. Their wait staff are dressed up and it is very nice. (although some of the patrons are too casually dressed :O). All 3 times we've been to the Sunday Brunch. A separate omlett/beef/ham/waffle station. In a separate room are other breakfast options; eggs benedict, bacon, sausage, broccoli fratatta; fish, ham,...
Our Server, Jane, was fantastic. The food was amazing and we didn't feel rushed, nor did we feel as though we were waiting for the next dish. Overall, a great date night with my Wife for Valentine's.
Food was okay. Expensive for the portions we received. I was expecting to be blown away with all the reviews but I unfortunately was not.
Love opus for lunch with the ladies dates with my honey or group fun
It was a busy Friday lunch time and the restaurant was full. We had to wait longer than us usual for our food . The noise level was higher than usual with three large groups in the back room.
Excellent meal and great service. The quality of the food was very good. Specialty drink list a little overpriced.
I always (or usually) make a reservation by phone or OpenTable, this time I placed reservation by OpenTable, specified/requested to sit at the booth table closest to the grand piano and restrooms, and called before arriving, and confirmed that they got my reservation and my special request, they said they did. I love listening to (and watching) the jazz music played by the grand piano and sound...
Great place to have a business or friend's lunch. Good food & service.
The food was very good, but very pricey - I can't say that it was "worth" the price as though it was good, I honestly could not tell the difference between the $50 steak I had and the same cut elsewhere for less than 1/2 the price?? I have to say the lump crab meat was very good, but for the price, I was disappointed at how very little lump crab there was on the Oscar. The salad and the salad...
A very large party was seated next to our table and was a little distracting.....otherwise same good service and food.
We were celebrating a belated anniversary and had a great experience. The food, wine, and service was superb; Sean was a intentive and warm server. The only glitch was the reserved table was for someone named Bobby who was having a birthday and not under my name for a wedding anniversary
Another absolutely wonderful experience. Great food!
Great place and great service! Food was delicious and service was excellent.
Love this place! Not cheap but great food, service and atmosphere! Great lunch deals!
My reason to try out this restaurant was the fact that it was restaurant week. It was quite disappointing to get there and not have a beef entree, their specialty, on the restaurant week menu.
Great place, food, wine and excellent service. Thanks
Excellent steaks and service.
We have been to Opus 9 many times and never a bad meal. One of the best deals in the Williamsburg area for lunch. Food is wonderfully prepared and service is impeccable.
We celebrated my wife's birthday on January 28th, but January 27th is her real birthday; however, family and grandchildren arrived from northern Virginia and we celebrated together at home.
Great service, food was outstanding, great value, superb ambiance
Jason is a fantastic waiter. Really great! Love to have him every time.
Our first time at Opus 9 was for my birthday. Fortunately NO sombreros and singing wait staff. We were promptly seated in a cozy corner. Our waiter, Sean, was friendly, engaging and attentive. We opted for the Roast Duck comfit and the Crab cake main courses. Bread and honey butter were promptly served while we reviewed the menu and ordered our wine. A nice selection of wines to accompany our...
We had amazing service and an overall fantastic experience! We will definitely be dining again!!
For the value the best Sunday brunch that I ever had. Nice ambience with the Jazz duo. Service is very prompt.
The service was outstanding. Our waiter Michael was very accommodating. The only down side was the steak was dry but the pork chops my friend ordrered was moist and tasty. The next time I'm in the area again I will visit Opus9
Wonderful steak! Good food all around. Attentive service. Great ambience - but the music could have been a couple of notches lower.
Would definitely recommend Opus 9 to everyone! Dinner is great for special occasions and lunch is always super affordable! There is something for everyone on the menu. Expect great service and expect great food. Whether you come for lunch, dinner, or happy hour, you can bet you will always leave with complete satisfaction after an incredible meal.
Great Food - Great Service - really understand customer service - pricey for everyday dinning but great for those special occasions
Opus 9 was fine. It was good, not great, but maybe I'm jaded from too many steakhouses in the DC area. Service was very good; the owner/maitre'd was friendly and courteous. Food was very good, wine was good, too. Crab cake appetizer was average; steak au poivre was excellent and cooked to perfection.
Service was outstanding, our waiter was top notch, Luis. The food was fantastic, starting with the complimentary soft rolls with honey butter that were warm and melted in your mouth, to a spicy bloody mary and crisp fresh salad--and we hadn't even been served our meals yet. Steaks cooked to perfection as ordered, and adding a fresh bernaise sauce sent it over the top! Cant imagine a better...
Food was really good and served in a very reasonable time. Wasn't our first visit and won't be the last. The server, Sean, explained the menu and specials professionally and it affected our decisions.
The experience was great. The steaks are better than I imagined. Service was very good. I will be returning.
Opus 9 is an elegant, delicious restaurant to get together with friends, have a romantic dinner, or celebrate a special occasion!
I ❤❤❤❤Opus 9. I celebrate New Yrar's eve and my birthday theee for the past two years.
Extensive menu and wine list. Professional staff handled a large professional group with spouses/guests in a most efficient manner while explaining the menu choices. Excellent wine suggestions. Top drawer location.
Took my father and some family members for Sunday brunch, this has got to be the best Sunday brunch in the area. Service is great, the food selection is really good but there were a few problems. The reason I did not give this place 5 stars is because of the following. When we arrived they seated us as far away...
While in Williamsburg for three nights, we were very selective with our choice of restaurants. We hit a homerun with this choice. The food was outstanding. I choose the 8oz filet mignon which was cooked to perfection and very tender. The sides that accompanied the meal were very generous. We made the mistake of ordering two of their special sides...
We went to Opus 9 for my birthday dinner - and knowing that it's supposed to be one of the best steakhouses in Williamsburg I was pretty excited! The food is absolutely delicious and the service is outstanding. We both had steaks that were perfectly cooked and tender, and our dessert of crème brulee was amazing. The only thing was...
We usually frequent Ruth Chris however on vacation we could not find one.
With 3 very picky Steak eaters, this was given 5 stars. Better than R. Chris
and the staff was amazing as well.
I have been to a lot of Steak Houses and this resturant is right up there in quality. A very nice setting and the food was very good. I go the impressiion though that the service people were a bit snobby ,not poor service so don't get me wrong but just not up beat or positive. But if you are...
At the spur of the moment we decided to go out. We had no trouble getting a seat at the bar which is what we intended. The bartender, Rebecca, was very helpful with their new wine list and allowed us to taste several before selecting what we enjoyed most. We ate from the bar menu; lighter fare, very good and...
Excellent service, venue, presentation, location and food. Been there 50+ times. A locals favorite. Reservations suggested. Great local bar scene especially on Fridays Happy Hour.
A perfect place for Sunday brunch! Very classy environment with green and brown organic decor. A duo was playing the piano and cello, and it was devine! Food was delicious and replenished regularly. Brandon at the omlet station was friendly and delivered delicious omlets to order as well as waffles and prime rib. Eggs benedict, a mountain of bacon, and...
Wonderful restaurant, great for lunch or special occasions. The food is good and the service impeccable! Great wine selections

Any day of the week. We have been both to Sunday brunch Wednesday wine and one of the best wine dinners ever. Patricia green, not to drop any names but, this is a great restaurant wonderful service nice bar area, and Sunday brunch is a real treat. We live in Richmond but we will be back again, we have been 3 times so far and we find it well worth the trip
Not bad food usually but not worth the price. Sort of Morton's prices for lesser quality (and I am not a big Morton's fan...).
Opulent Sunday brunch. I'd heard good things about their Sunday brunch and it was indeed wonderful. It is a buffet with tons of options, as well as a carving station, made-to-order omelet station, and freshly cooked Belgian waffle station. There was a large selection of dishes ranging from cheesy grits, maple pepper bacon, smoked sausage, and Opus hash brown cakes to chilled pasta salad, lox...
I have heen eating there since opening and it is inconsistent. The jumbo lump crab cakes used to be excellent now small and not good or tasty. The steaks never were seared properly on top but lately tough. We have sent food back at least 2 to 3 timews and got manager's apologies and gift cards. They need to stay atop of this place because it could be a gold mine.
Lunch for $10 great.
The services is fantastic and the steaks are definitely amazing - but its guaranteed that you're paying for it. An 8oz fillet is about $33 with a side. The salads are a decent size, and the crab…
Fresh, quality food in a beautiful setting and friendly staff. The dinner menu is a bit pricey, but sure to impress. I opt for the lunch menu, since the food is just as good for a lot less money. I…
High price, everything else poor. Had a business dinner at this establishment. We are not fussy and try to be as fair as possible, but in this economy where client retention is paramount this eatery does not understand what it takes to be a high end Resturant. We have eaten at all the major steakhouses in NY,Chicago, California and Texas. Steak was over cooked, the thin and flimsy for price....
No 1 Steak - Absolute MUST !. As a steak lover, this place is a must visit. They have their own cut and aged steaks. One of the best cuts I have encountered in quite a long time. They have a HOT grill so don't expect anything less than a warm rare (in my opinion), but regardless, the cut and age make up for it.
Ate there once for lunch and we were sorry we ordered the steaks. Everything else was good. I prefer my steaks sizzling hot, pan seared, grilly tasting and marbled with fat. For lunch, there are two options of steak cuts prepared four ways (though lots of other attractive sounding non-steak lunch choices at just $10 each). The steak was just warm (not sure how or why) and was tender but grainy...
Great service, ask for Phil! Pricey menu, but it was to be expected just looking at the place. The food was delicious, I had the rockfish topped with jumbo lump cab meat and a lemon-caper beurre Blanc…

We went last Sunday for the brunch buffet. It was a very nice spread :) The salads and fruit were fresh and beautifully arranged. There was only 1 chef at the carving station and omelet station but the line went quickly. The dessert portion of the buffet was incredible! They make the best chocolate chip cookies that I have ever eaten. The chocolate fountain was an elegant touch too.
We were...
A very enjoyable meal ; Very good service, pleasant surroundings, very good steaks (although the garlic mashed potatoes lacked seasoning), all wines half priced on Sunday. Priced like a good steakhouse. Had we not had a later engagement, relaxing with a bottle of wine instead of a glass would have been in order. Worth visiting again.
I went here for brunch with my aunt. It was a really good. The atmosphere was nice, the wait staff very friendly, and they had a jazz duet playing live music. The food is buffet style. There is a…
We went here for my grandmother's 80th birthday last night and it was really good. They put us in a private room, which made the experience even better. My aunt and uncle are regulars here, so she…
A bit pretentious - the waiter writes his name on a card and places it on a little stand on the table - but it's a good steakhouse with a very good wine list. If youre in need of a protein fix, this is a good possibility.
Great food and the reserved wine list is nice. The service is always attentive and ,as you would expect in Williamsburg, gracious.
I expected more from a steakhouse than the experience I had at this restaurant. Yes, the restaurant is fancy looking but that is it. The oyster they had on for their special were bad. I don't no…
A very nice addition to the ever growing presence of excellent restaurants in Williamsburg. Steaks and chops are prepared to order and the portions are huge. The wine list is (as it is most everywhere) grossly overpriced but overall, this is a very good restaurant.
Sophisticated and urban chic. Definately rare for Williamsburg. Dinner is extremely pricey, however the lunch menu is an excellent value. I had the petit sirloin plate with sauted vegetables and…
Had dinner with two business associates during the week. Though the potential for this restaurant is there, we did not experience it. The decor was great, the service was bad, and the food was okay. I do not believe the total experience was great.
GREAT!! BEST STEAK IN TOWN! Great service and Wine List Too! Cowboy Cut Ribeye is to die for, my wife loved the oscar 9! You Will NOT be Sorry!
This is one of my favorite restaurants! The food is excellent, the service perfect and the restaurant beautiful. The only set back for some might be the time spent and the price tag, but you get what you pay for. If you want Outback, and it has it's place, this isn't it. Your meal at Opus 9 will be leisurely with your every need attend to as you enjoy every bite!
This is the best steak I've ever had! Great Service, Great Food!
Wonderful variety. Superb service. From casual business meetings (try the Executive Lunch) to intimate dinner night out, Opus 9 exudes quality. Well known for perfectly aged steaks and ultimate wine list, but other options abound (crab cake - to die for!). Whatever fits your taste: Light Fare, Prix Fix, Happy Hour, Group Functions. . .think nowhere else. Try it. . .you'll agree.
My boyfriend and I celebrated our one year anniversary at Opus 9 and we had an amazing experience. I was very impressed by the menu, we had the ahi tuna and the calamari as appetizers-which I recommend both. I had the oscar 9 filet for dinner with crabmeat and bearnaise sauce and my boyfriend had the new york strip, which he also loved. I highly recomment this restaurant!
Pricey restaurant with personable service and incredibly fresh, tasty food. This is the PERFECT place to take a date to impress. I enjoyed their crabcake (zero filler) dinner and was very impressed.…
This was a GREAT Night! My husband and I came here for our anniversary Dinner and were sooo pleased. The service was impeccable, the food was to die for(make sure you get the chocolate concerto with its warm fudge filling...), our server recommended a Great bottle of wine from their ample list. This Place is #1 in the area!recommendedrecommended
We wanted good steak, and found it here at Opus 9! As another reviewer mentioned, the atmosphere is very nice. We had a party of 6, and enjoyed a semi-private table. The service was spotty - at times…
Great Restaurant. My Company recently had a meeting here and it was perfect. The food was out of this world, the service was excellent and the wine list was devine(that would explain the Wine Spectator Award Of Excellence haning on the wall). This place was just what the Dr. Ordered.
Opus9, white-cloth upscale rest located in New Town section of Williamsburg. This place belongs to adults, so only bring your children if they are over 18. The steaks, prime rib, pork chops & lobster were prepared exactly as we requested. The portions were perfect, no small plates here. Service is impeccable. This is the non-rush dinner; do not come here at 6 if you are trying to make the 7...
BEST STEAK EVER! Better then Mortons or Lawry's BY FAR! A great place for a nice steak and a good bottle of wine. Plus Sundays are 1/2 Price Wine Night! I got a Bottle of Silver Oaks for $75! OUTSTANDING! LOVE IT
Another steakhouse! High end atmosphere. High end prices. Here you have another steakhouse that has very overpriced food. You're paying for the atmosphere. If you want to impress, this is where…
