I live very near the Air Station. I find myself watching the jets fly every day. Sometime I just park at the end of the runway and watch them take off or land for long periods of time.

Had a Master Chief call me an ethnic slur today as I walked into medical and he was walking out. I guess since we are both white he felt it was acceptable. I don't recall his name otherwise I'd be filing a complaint.

A great place to work and live. I worked/lived at Oceana from 2008-2013 when I was with VFA-87. I would go back there in a heartbeat if given the chance.

One of the Navy's four major jet bases, this air station covers 6,000 acres and is home to over 9,700 Navy personnel and around 12,300 of their dependents. Eight F-14 Tomcat fighter squadrons and eleven F/A-18 Hornet squadrons assigned to the Atlantic and Pacific Fleets are based at NAS Oceana.
