Restaurant critics, neighborhood regulars, and first time visitors alwaysagree about My Brother's Place: the atmosphere is great, the food is superb, and the service is outstanding. The restaurant offers a casual atmospherethat is perfect for dining with friends, co-workers, and family members. Thecreative menu features a wide array of great selections, always made fromthe highest quality...
This Capitol Hill "hole-in-the-wall" is "great for interns" or "post-softball" celebrations, luring a "very fratty" clientele with "amazing" happy-hour specials and collegiate amusements ("beer pong, flip cup" and the like); "don't expect super-fancy" surroundings (though there is a snug outdoor patio) – still, bromantics should "feel right at home."
We ate here a few times as close to where our son is going to Law School and it's a descent downtown local to grab a snack and beer. It's not crowded - clean enough and the nachos are fantastic. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a lunch and near the law center.
We originally wanted to go to the sushi spot next door but when arriving we found it closed. So we decided to eat at this place instead. We were there on July 4th so they had a limited menu. There were 4 of us. We were greeted by our server. I don't like to say negative things about people but,...
In the bathroom, I spotted a pair of panties in the trash can but I saw no toilet paper. Classic MBP.
We stopped here after a long day of site seeing for dinner. The place was quiet but the food was awesome. We had pizza and pasta and both dishes were exceptional and reasonably priced. We returned again later in the week for pizza again - it was wonderful! The place looks like a dive bar but the food was more...
We spent New Year's eve here. Reminded me of some of my favorite dive bars from home. Great location, just around the corner from the hill. I will definitely stop back in on my next trip to D.C.
Do not order beer from the tap it tastes bad, just avoid this place!
Get the Gyro you will thank me.
The food's decent. The staff are pleasant folks. The bartenders can make a decent drink. I just wish that the beer selection wasn't so generic. There's really not much to it. Which is fine for a lot of people. I'm just a fan of craft beer and think that they're superior in taste and alcohol content to your typical Guinness...
We ate here twice. My husbands fish sandwich was so good we went back the second day for lunch and I had it. It was very good it's kinda off the beaten path but the food and people were great.
while touring the downtown d.c. area we found a shortage of sit down restaurants that didn't cost a fortune. we just happened to stumble on this place because of a sidewalk sign we almost missed.
its bar food plain and simple, however it was priced right with decent portions. atmosphere is nothing to write home about.
hamiltons bar and grill...
I’ve been here 4 times now. It never disappoints. It’s on the Northeast end of the mall not very far from the capital. Prices are reasonable and the food is good as are the beverages. The offer a full bar and cater to a lot of local sport teams. Young children might not enjoy this place but teenagers and adults...
You have to know WHERE it is to get there, but once you do you won't be disappointed. Good food, fast and cold drinks. What more to you want?
Around the Capitol, there's not many places to sit down and grab a bite. That's why I ended up here. The air conditioning and chance to sit down were valuable enough alone.
The food wasn't good though. While my portion was huge, I really didn't enjoy eating it at all and wondered more than once if I was making a...
What you'd expect. Went here my second weekend (Saturday night) in town and it was what i expected. The all you can drink $15 wristbands are nice if you get a good bartender to take care of you when it gets busy. this place gets crowded and if you like dancing this is your place. My roommate ordered some Tater Tots and it was the largest portion i have ever seen. Def hooked us up. Overall had a...
Good bar for happy hour or to just hang out. great wings; would highly recommend. have a good selection if that does not interest you. They also have real good drink specials. very cute bartender too as a bonus.
Cool atmosphere, delicious food, and nice service. I'm definitely coming back when I'm in D.C.
I loved the Cuban sandwich will be back next time I'm in dc
two words: steak salad. other than that, a solid bar for post-softball shenanigans
Website says their open until 1am, went at 11:30 and they were closing. Got dressed up for nothing, do yourself a favor and skip this place. First impression it's a dive, didn't get a chance to make a…
Finding a place to eat near the mall in DC when you're sweaty and gross is hard. This place is kind of off the beaten path, but it fit the bill. We sat in the enclosed patio type area. I ordered a cheeseburger that came without cheese (I was so hungry at that poin in time that I didn't tell...
My family and I ate here on May 29. We were skeptical based on the reviews but it was so close to the Hyatt at Capital Hill where we were staying that we decided to give it a try. The food was fantastic! I was nervous and ordered a simple grilled chicken sandwich. My husband and sons (ages 6 &...
Saturday Night...October 24th was marked by a heart breaking moment in my life. This moment was the realization that their people out there that still do not respect and support our troops. No matter you view on the war. Respect our men and women fighting for us. How this involves My Brothers Place, you may ask. Well...while waiting outside to into the bar three young passed by me mumbling...
Owner and two bouncers tonight 10/25/09 refused entrance and service to 3 active duty US Army personnel. They were stopped at the door and admittance denied.... You and your bouncers claimed, when ask by another patron why, their response was that all GI's start trouble. Man who claimed to be owner appears to be of Mexican origin, funny if I felt all Mexicans were illegal aliens, I am sure you...
On the Hill and want a beer or bite? This is a great spot. Hidden gem.
This bar is the s@#t. No long lines, cheap beer, really chill staff.
From the moment I walked in I was greeted like I was a regular for years!! The place definatley has a welcoming vibe and is decorated with placks and posters thanking customersfor their patronage for at least 30 years. I started with the Chicken Napoleon appetizer...so delicious and took advantage of the 1/2 price wine special and paid $4.00 for New Harbour Sauv Blanc from the Marlborough...
Brothers is the shittiest bar in the Washington area. I don't know why people go there. Don't waste your time at this place. You'd be better off to go party at the bar next door, Hamiltons. It sucks!!!!!
I lived on the hill for five years before I even knew they served food. For anyone looking to have a good cheap time on a Saturday night.... 15 bucks all you can drink.
I think I got an appetizer at Brothers once, but I know I had plenty of beers. Great atmosphere for happy hour or a late night bar outing, but I can't truly rate it as a restaurant.
never had the food, but its the place for hill-staffers to have a few after softball
Such a dive, food isn't that bad though and it can be a fun place when it gets busy.
I've gone to this spot several times hoping it would improve. I love the location, however, the food and especially the service sucks. I've had my food brought to me raw and the waitress said, OH MY, the cook forgot to cook it!,.....another time my company had an happy hour after work, we placed a large order of drinks and food, of course we got the drinks, but after an hour we never got the...
One of the best and funniest bars I've ever been to!!!
The Turkey Bacon Melt is amazing. Great place to grab a quick lunch if touring the capital area. A very laid back and friendly atmosphere. Great bar scene at night with college kids from Catholic University.
One of the perks of a local dive bar is that it is in fact, local. You can walk or stumble home and back and the free world will be A-Okay. Unfortunately my dive bars usually requires me taking a cab...When I first heard fo My Brother's Pla...
For everything from $1 drafts to trivia nights to pool tables to juke boxes to intriguing locals, My Brother's Place is great for whatever type of mood you might be in. Without any trimmings except bar stools, tables, and chairs, some may ...
A truly outstanding neighborhood spot! More beers on tap than I remember seeing anywhere in town. Very friendly staff, and the food quality and pricing are not to be believed. I have been back several times, with a group of friends and then back to watch the NBA playoffs on one of their many TVs. They even have a theatre size TV screen for events. About the food...I have had their Chicken Wrap,...

If you’re one of DC’s many college students, kickball enthusiasts, or unpaid interns on the Hill, you’re probably quite familiar with My Brother’s Place.
