Help us make it rightMy go-to Chinese restaurant used to be Mandarin Palace on Connecticut Ave., but ever since they left, I've been looking for a new one. I really like this place. The food is good and the portions are…
Moongate was our "go-to" neighborhood restaurant when my Mom came to town for visits - that is, until dinner on Saturday. We arrived early for dinner and were the second table seated in the dining…
Things I like: Really good prices, $9.95 dinner special Monday - Thursday. The ambiance is lovely: two rooms separated by a high stone arch with etched glass windows and a gas log fire glowing in…
After 2 years, I finally made a trip to Moongate to get some take out. I was encouraged by some of the reviews I got from neighbors and my boss, but ended up with the wrong order. I ordered spicy…
I tried Moongate Restaurant again just to be sure that I wasn't hitting them on an off day the first couple of times I went. Well, they seem to be pretty consistent in the "not good" department. …

After several more lunches here, I felt that I really needed to give Moongate an upgrade. My FA dines here every Wednesday for lunch and then hits up the Women's Farmers Market next door and some days…
We've been going there for years, after we had found it to be a white tablecloth place with an extensive menu, tasty food, and always cheerful, prompt service. It is our favorite "don't feel like cooking tonight" destination, and when we've been away for a while to someplace lacking in high quality Chinese food, we usually go there the first night back in town. Highly recommended for a party...
A friend tipped me off to this charming Chinese restaurant which is just blocks from my home. I had no idea it was tucked back in the street across from the Farmers Market. Needless to say the food is great. I’ve had over 10 meals and have not tired of it yet. Make sure you ask for Ray, he is a great server and will treat you with first class. He makes great recommendations and the food is...
Moongate would have to be the best Chinese restaurants I've ever experienced dining at. I have been to Chinese restaurants all over the U.S. and this one is absolutely fabulous. There are items not listed on the menu that are wonderful such as Egg Foo Yung. The service is very good -- your water glass is always full and your pot of tea always hot. Highly recommended.
Thoughtful Chinese restaurant with a small restaurant, cozy feel. Nice attentive service. The service is prompt and accurate, I always feel Iwant to stay there longer. Nice menu with a few above average dishes.

House of Foong Lin replaces the Moon Gate Restaurant and Bar. It's owned by Fu Cheung, the owner of the former Foong-Lin restaurant that closed in 2012 in Bethesda.
According to Cheung, many of the menu’s dishes should be familiar to Foong-Lin fans, but House of Foong Lin also prepares dishes in several new cooking styles, including Szechuan and Hong Kong-style fare, Bethesda Patch reported.
Go to Moongate for a place that focuses on Chinese.
