I'm currently a patient at the Midwifery Center and absolutely love the care given by my midwife, Beth. Nothing is more comforting than developing a trusting relationship with your midwife. I did want to add water births are alive and well at the MWC and I plan to have one myself this April.

It is with mixed emotions that I write this review. Hence the reason I waited a year. Upon researching the midwifery center and their philosophy about natural birth I was immediately in love. There was no where else that I wanted to deliver my baby. Through out my pregnancy I had good and bad experiences with them. I love Depaul. If you are going natural, they are the place. It appauls me that one person had a bad view there and it's a bad hospital. It's not! I had troubles with my thrid child and they took care of me and wheeled me over to the other side. My son was born healthy through it all and the midwives were there the entire way! Almost a Year ago now Blair Conger delivered my baby and almost cost me my life. I had a large blood clot that she swore she had removed. My mother had asked her if she was sure that I had delivered all of the placenta, She did not even check. I did not. The Midwifery Center at DePaul is a warm, welcoming home-like environment situated within a hospital. We have delivered 3 children there, and as a doula, I have worked with several other families there. I would highly recommend this option for birthing women. Took me a month to get in, then they called me at 7:45 AM the morning of my appt to cancel it. It couldn't be rescheduled for another month. These people do not call you back, you must initiate everything. The nurse I spoke with was snide. I went elsewhere, good luck if you risk going here.
