I should have gone to Taco Bell

This was the most expensive Mexican restaurant I've ever been to and the food was horrible. The service was ok and the waitress was friendly.

Avoid at all costs

Average Rating

Avoid this place at costs!!
We were greeted by the owner who showed us to our table. My wife and I asked for an upside down high chair for our baby. His reply "I can get you one, but that car seat will fit just fine in that chair." I told him I'd rather have a hight chair and he...

We have patronized the 80th St. location for 30 years; this is our 1st visit to this location in Ocean Pines. We arrived about 6PM Fri after Labor day, there were lots of people on the deck and 4-5 tables occupied inside. We were seated right away. Happy hour is only in the bar area. The complimentary chips and salsa...

Poor service

Average Rating

Recently visited this restaurant and was shocked to receive such lousy service. When we first walked in, the owner saw us and said hello. But that was it. We went to the bar and thought that we could get a drink while we waited for our friends. We sat at a table in the bar and waited for someone to...

Fall from grace

When we first adored the restaurant I would have given it all the stars in the world. This was 18 years ago or so. The food was fresh, delicious and a taste treat beyond compare. It slipped very slowly, prices rising and menu changing. …

best mexican in ocean city

La Hacienda is located in a strip mall on the bay side of the coastal highway. It is easy to miss, but well worth trying to find. The guacamole is the best I have ever eaten in a restaurant. Our favorite appetizer is the crab flautas,…

Good Burritos

This place has great burritos but their salsa is not as good as a local competitor. We do stop in here from time to time but we tend to favor the other place when we are closer to it. If you want a great burrito then this is the place…

Glutton for punishment.... went back again and very happy

After I swore I would write off this restaurant for good, my darling hubby convinced me to go back for the steak fajitas. I had very bad experiences in the past with the Neptune Burrito and tacos. After all, my first "love" is their fajitas ever since I first visited in 1991. The fajitas were as wonderful as ever... however...

Great long time Ocean City Mexican Restaurant

Average Rating

Normally get the fajitas or burrito, tried the fish tacos this time and they were great. Big portions, always enough for a doggie bag or shared entree. The new location on the west side of the bay is easy to get to.

Neptune Burrito - worth it for 9 years and counting

Average Rating

The Neptune Burrito is worth every cent and has been for the past 9 years! My husband and I make sure this is on the agenda every year for our OC, MD vacation!

Terrible mistake

Average Rating

We drove past this Mexican restaurant and thought it looked like a nice place to eat. What a mistake! From the minute we walked in, everything was terrible. The gentleman that seated us seemed very condescending, like we were bothering him. We then waited and waited for our server. We were just ready to leave when a waitress showed up....

Solid tex-mex

Average Rating

La Hacienda is traditional tex-mex food. No oddball ingredients to try to make it "signature" so the kids loved all the meals here and the price is moderate. This is a good bet for families.

First time I've gone home hungry from a Mexican Restaurant

The setting is very nice, close to a small lake. You can choose to be outside on the water or indoors. The waitress were very friendly and hospitable. There was also a nice mural on the wall. That about covers the positives.
The food was terrible. I've never tasted bad refried beans, but they proved me wrong because the beans...

It was definately worth the trip from OC, only about 10 minutes, guacamole and salsa were excellent and my margarita was the BEST, my wife had the chicken fajitas and I had a seafood burrito, think it was called neptune, any how it had nice large scallops and shrimp, great flavor,

I have not been to this restaurant in years. When they were in Ocean city I think we tried it maybe 3 times. They moved to Ocean Pines and my husband and decided we would stop in and I have to say glad we did, Margaretta's were great and they serve you warm chips with salsa just like Mexico. We...

Came here during off season so we were seated right away. Salsa and chips were delivered right after our drink order was taken. loved the homemade salsa! Husband and I both had burritos which were so huge we both took 1/2 back to our hotel. Loved that the chicken was real chunks instead of shredded chicken that you find in...

Salsa was from a can almost positive it was Old El Paso. I ordered steak fajitas in which they didn't come out sizzling or with rice which is weird, the beans were cold and old, the steak looked processed and like it had been reheated from earlier, it even had a shine too it. Do not waste your money!

This was the worst dinner I have ever had. My son ordered steak fajitas and they did not come out sizzling in fact the dish was Luke warm at best. The meat was not fresh steak cut up and grilled. It was processed meat that was frozen and out of a bag. Do not order the quesadilla. It was one...

Best Mexican Restaurant in Ocean Pines, MD

Last week we had the pleasure of dining at La Hacienda a Mexican restaurant, 10 minutes away from Ocean City, MD. Since they have moved to Ocean Pines after 30 years in Ocean City, this drive and visit was worth it. I have been going to La Hacienda for last 7 years in a row till 2005 with 3 families...

Arrogant owner and hostess wife. Rude Rude Rude!!! I always thought that the owner had an air of arrogance and fakeness to him, but I don't have to live with him and the food was always good so I just over looked it. the food is good but way too expensive for what you get. A $20 burrito?? We got during happy hour when the food is reasonably priced, but I'd never pay full price for their food. Huge Burritos, but can be expensive

Loved the burrito I got here. It was tasty and huge (I got 2 meals out of it). the only issue I had was that after all the add ons, salsa, sour cream and guac, it became avery expensive burrito. Sangarita was good and chips and salsa were good as well. Will go back, now that I know the 'drill'.

I really wanted to like this restaurant...it is close to our place in OP and I love this type of cuisine. Everything about this place though is awful- the food, drinks, and service. $15 for a burrito?!? You've got to be kidding me. I don't care if it's a big burrito or not. We visited in early October, so there were only a relatively few diners. I can imagine how crowded this restaurant must be in season. We have coming to this restaurant for a couple of years now. They are always pretty good and this year was no exception. Disappointing Meal

Average Rating

We went to La Hacienda on a Friday night shortly after arriving in OC. At the recommendation of our server, my wife and I both ordered the rockfish taco. The rockfish was lightly breaded. It was served in a tortilla shell with lettuce, onion, cucumber, and salsa.
The rockfish was all right, but I would have preferred it broiled instead...

This is my first to their Ocean Pines location, and I was not impressed. The food lacked flavor and the staff lacked personality. It was empty when we arrived (I should have known something was wrong). I would definately go to the location in Ocean City again, I've been there plenty of times and have never had an "okay" meal....

A tourist trap to avoid

Average Rating

The most authentic part of this restaurant is the “Viva Mexico” poster framed on the wall. The restaurant serves one type of salsa – a mild, runny concoction made from canned tomatoes and diced onions. No cilantro, no fresh tomatoes, no taste. They don’t serve medium or hot salsa – only hot sauce that resembles ketchup and Tabasco that you...

There is indoor seating and a few outdoor tables. We decided to eat outdoors because it was pleasant and breezy outside and they had large fans blowing also. It is expensive but very good quality. Ocean City takes all comers, so the reviews that are negative are probably by people who think Chi-Chi's is top of the line Mexican.

Not what it's cracked up to be. Nothing distinctive about the food but pricey. Imagine the alacart menu where everything imagineable is extra like - sour cream? The food here is fair, at best. They only had one menu item that distinguished them in my opinion, the Crab Flautas, but they have seen fit to remove them from the menu - what a shame. It was the only item not drowned in melted cheese until unrecognizable as food. The rest is just slopped together ingredients they like to call Mexican.
