Help us make it rightMy favorite lunch venue, and also the place to get a take-out when family are in town.
The Scene:
If you like Chinese then skip the buffets and head to Kin's Wok, where the credo is ""To serve the best and charge the least,"" and where prices already include tax. Every...
Good portions and highly respectable Gen. Tao's chicken (not too sweet or overbreaded). Have tried China Ocean and Yummy Wok (which overcharged me and made me ill) and out of the three, Kin's is the knockout winner.
I own DJH Fine Home Furnishings in Ghent! I eat at this restaurant 4-6 times per week both lunch and dinner! The kitchen is always clean and the food exceptional. I have never been sicken by the food and am sorry to see such a harsh review below!Social media is a wonderful tool, we will never all agree but glad to compliment a JOB WELL DONE! KIN's WOK in Ghent is the best!
great lunch specials. like the people that work there. very please with my experience
It's very odd because I could have sworn I wrote a review for this place awhile back. Maybe I was too negative then and they paid yelp to delete it. Who knows? Anyway- this is one of many local "New York Style Chinese" places that dot/blot each and every strip mall in Hampton Roads. The …
I'm really not sure why Ken's is number 1. It's descent Chinese food, don't get me wrong, but I've had better in Norfolk. Middle of the road Chinese at Ken's.
I having been going to this joint since they opened! I was working at Bank of America which was "Nationsbank" at the time! I will not eat at any other...
Started going here when I began college at ODU in 2001. Since I no longer live in the Hampton Roads area, I only get to go once a year or so, but it never...
My favorite Chinese take-out restaurant in Norfolk. Food is excellent, good portions, and reasonably priced. Seating is available and is cafeteria style.
Food was fresh & hot. Service was very good & prices were resonable. It on the way home from work. The Chinese food seems to be better in Norfolk.
very good food for your standard chinese food restaurant. huge portions for a great price and you can always get two meals out of one. good delivery service as well.
I find most Chinese bland. This place is clean, efficient, convenient and tasty. The chicken they use has little or no fat. The veggie egg rolls are okay but try the spring rolls. Advertises 300 items and menu and has many devoted followers and several positive newspaper reviews.
This place operates mainly on take-out and delivery. Not a very comfortable place to eat. But the food tastes good and they have all the standard American style Chinese staples. I especially like the beef and string beans.
I got the chicken with broccoli and vegetable fried rice. Tons of fresh veggies in the rice and delicious!
Have eaten here numerous times. Really like their use of fresh vegetables, would recommend the chicken with bean sprouts. The food quality is far better than other Chinese take-out restaurants.
I love good Chinese food, but I'm not too fond of Kin's Wok. Here's why:1. Meat sticks to my teeth which weirds me out. The chicken has an odd, dare I say, cheap texture.2. Too many vegetables.3. The…
This is my Chinese food place of choice! Seriously, love this place & have been going there ever since I moved to Norfolk. They have some of the best pork egg rolls ever. I usually get Lo-Mein, Shrimp…
Kin's Wok has become indispensible for local vegetarians, but anyone who...
Yuck! Sorry ya'll. I have to be pretty offended to give someplace a 1-star rating. I said it once and I'll say it again: Yuckyuckyuck. So I had a hankering for a big dose of delicious, greasy, gut-bomb…
Yes, I am a fan.... Then again, I'm a fan of quick, hot, greasy, MSG-covered meats. Sanitary? Yes. Of all the Chinese restaurants in the Ghent area, this is probably the cleanest of them. They are…
This place is awesome. It's one of the best chinese places I've had food from...
I work off Lafayette Blvd. in Norfolk, and even though this is a bit further...
Okay, anybody from Virginia beach can appreciate a good deal on... Basically...
I had the General Tso's and it was good. Sweet and not too hot. I could have...
Kin's Wok is casual; you can eat in or carry out, and the wait staff are brisk but welcoming. I have a hard time to narrow down a favorite dish since I've tried many dishes, mainly on the Lunch Special listing. I'm consistently amazed, every time I get an order, that I can get so much, that includes fresh vegetables and good meat or seafood, at such a low price. Consistency in taste is what...
They don't accept credit cards. The portions were smaller than other chinese restaurants. Food was okay. I won't go there again. Priced higher than other locations for the same meal. But that would also have to do w/ the location-GHENT.
The Singapore Style Mai Fun is fantastic as are the Kung Pao veggies and the Moo Shu chicken. And for the money the potions are generous! The crab rangoons were terrible. Actually the filling for them was flavorful, but the external wrapper was too think and kind of rubber-like. I would say to stay away from the fried appatizer portion of the menu, but the remained is excellent!
Pros
+ The food is FANTASTIC, for the most part
Cons
- This is a CASH ONLY establisment

You’ve undoubtedly heard the tale of the gal, “when she was good, she was very very good, but when she was bad, she was rotten (or horrid, depending on version!)”? Well, Kin’s Wok could be her restaurant! When they are good, they are very very good, excellent even! Thankfully this is a good solid 90% of the time. But if its a bad night, and theres no telling what makes for their bad night, you...
Not sure what part of chia the other reviewer hails from but there a precious few items on the menu that might be considered authentic. None the less it is good quality american style chinese food. Much less greasy than many of the other restaraunts in the area. Portions are excellent but prices reaching the expensive side. Dish that I might expect to pay 6 dollars for in new york are closer to 10.00 here.
The food here is very good. They have the best chinese hot wings in town!!
Kin's wok is not only a great carryout restaurant, it is also the best Chinese restaurant in the area period. The food is very authentic (I would know, i am Chinese). The food is perfectly seasoned and cooked. And unlike other Chinese joints in the area, the food is not smothered in a thick pre-made, usually overly sweet goo.
The one dish you will absolutely have to order is their Singapore...

The Scene: If you like Chinese then skip the buffets and head to Kin's Wok, where the credo is "To serve the best and charge the least," and where prices already include tax. Every one of the menu's over-two hundred items are fresh and prepared to order. The portions are large enough for leftovers to become the next day's lunch. The combo plates include an egg roll and plenty of fried rice. With the bulk of the clientele coming in for takeout, Kin's Wok is extremely casual; order at the counter and pour your own tea. If you need to be pampered go somewhere else, but for good Chinese at a...
A pleasant staff offers up delicious take with a smile.
