Kara came to my house for an initial paint/carpet consultation. She stayed for 3 hours and provided a recommendation for one local painter, one tile referral, and one carpet referral. She charged me $450 on the spot. Kara had no carpet samples with her. Her painting advice changed over the course of the 3 hour consultation, leaving this customer as confused as she was before Kara enterred the picture. Kara failed to follow up with me on providing enlarged paint swatches as promised. 3 weeks after the consultation (and 2 days after this post), her husband showed up at my house with the enlarged paint swatches. He explained that Kara had been hospitalized after our appointment and is now recovering at home. After talking with several other people, I learned that the initial consultation fee should have been considerably lower. Additionally the consultation fee should have included carpet samples, a variety of vendors, etc. While I wish Kara a speedy and complete recovery, I cannot recommend her services.
