Another nice stay at the Wales

We were in New York October 6-9 and spent two nights at the Wales. Same great service as before from Rosalyn and Felicia. Jr Suite was nice though noisy as it faced Madison Ave. Room was clean, comfortable, and a short walk to our daughter's apartment. Breakfast at Sara Beths was wonderful as usual and we will definitely book at the Wales again

I can't say enough good things about the Hotel Wales.

The location, the amenities, the staff - all add up to a wonderfully enjoyable stay. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we were treated with nothing but the utmost respect and courtesy. The staff members throughout the property were professional and friendly. We stayed in a suite, which was lovely and large. When we first entered the suite, we were greeted with a complimentary...

Summer trip

The location is great and near many restaurants, coffee shops, museums and Central Park. We booked this hotel, because it is near my father. I brought 2 kids and we had a 2 room suite with 2 queen beds, and it was quite spacious and comfortable. They did not have a coffee maker in the room, but had it offered most of the time in a community room on the 2nd floor (at some times it was hotter...

This is a review of two extremes - excellent and appalling.
First, the appalling: They deducted $50 per night in advance for 'incidentals' without informing me. When I discovered this and queried it, having stayed and paid for 2 nights, there was no response or reaction, just that it was 'hotel policy'. I asked for them to refund the $100...

We had a few days in New York before going down to Florida for our son's wedding, and chose to stay in the "Museum Mile" area, as to my mind, the best part of NY is it's galleries and museums. We couldn't afford most of the classy accommodation in the area, and chose the Wales for its reasonable rates and old worldly character. Very good coffee was always available in the guest lounge; a large...

Only one negative thing to say and that was the late at night noise of either construction or removal of street debris?? We could never figure out what the cause of this noise was but, it woke us up several times during the nights we were there.

I would definitely recommend this hotel. It is located in Carnegie Hill which is one of my favorite neighborhoods in NYC. The shopping in the area is great with small boutiques instead of the bigger stores you find further down Madison and Fifth Avenue. The restaurants in the the hotel are an excellent combination.
