This hotel worked because we drove from NYC area and had to quickly change for an afternoon wedding at a Mechanicsville church that was just minutes away. Checking in was a breeze. This hotel was fine, but not up to par with the many other Holiday Inn Express hotels I have stayed in. It is an older hotel, and it shows. The room was fairly clean and the bed was fine, but the hallway had a terrible odor. It felt like a lingering cigarette smell was everywhere.
Was okay, liked being within a mile of my friend. I had my own bar of soap, and yes, it was getting smaller. The housekeeper threw it away. I use Dove soap for sensitive skin, and I had to use the hotel soap for my last two nights. I wasn't too happy about that.
