Stayed here during drive to NY from Florida. Loved this hotel ! Staff was lovely. Room was nice and clean. Free breakfast in the morning is always convenient , especially when you are not familiar with the area.

Self parking no valet, parking spots were a little tight.
Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff at the front desk were very helpful. Free shuttle bus service within a 2 mile radius that we were able to take advantage of.
Breakfast was fine.
All in all a favorable experience.

The King Suite was very comfortable and quiet, 2 TV's and lots of space to move about. The staff was friendly and helpful as well. They directed us to several local fine restaurants. Great location! Many famous sights were within walking distance. The neighborhood felt safe and was very clean. The only issue was that the Holiday Inn website offered poor...

My friend and I went to a 2 day genealogy seminar at the LVA sponsored by GSV. I made the reservations at this hotel for several reasons. First reason was because I am very familiar with this hotel chain and have used them in the past for other genealogy trips. I like the free breakfast they offer and also for...

This property is conveniently located in Downtown Richmond within walking distance to all kinds of places to eat and live music venues. We had a small hiccup with check-in (our rooms were not ready at 4:00 when we checked in) But, the staff was friendly and worked quickly to get us in to our room so we could make our...

Stayed for one evening. Found front desk staff very helpful. Great location near VCU & downtown attractions/restaurants. Left my car in the parking garage and walked to get a better feel for the city. Would definitely stay here again when in the area.

We stayed here for the weekend for the VA Wine Expo. It's a great location to downtown venues and walking distance to many restaurants. The rooms are nice and we had a great view of VCU. The gym is very basic but in good shape. Breakfast was yummy with the staff very attentive of what needed to be restocked and...

We were in town for a college visit, so the proximity to VCU was the best thing about the hotel. The staff was also very nice. I don't think the condition of the hotel is worth the money but for a downtown location, the rate was expected

Good Stay

We spent one night at this hotel, as we were in town to take a tour of VCU, which was nearby. The hotel was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the staff was friendly. The breakfast was what I would expect - cereal, bagels, eggs, bacon, pancakes, etc - all of the usual items on a buffet. We were all...

Facility is exactly what you would expect. To me, the benefit of the HIE chain is its predictability...you always know what to expect. This one is clean, well run, provides a full breakfast, just as we've come to expect. It is walking distance to pretty much everything downtown, but just far enough off the main thoroughfares to be quiet. Parking...

Great venue to downtown Richmond. Within walking distance to the Coliseum. We walked from the hotel to a show and it was very convenient.
Also a nice short walk to the cobble stone part of Cary Street with a lot of fun restaurants and such.
Comfortable rooms and there is In and Out Parking available.

I stayed there for three nights on business in January. It's a great location with a few restaurants within walking distance and the canal walk about 10 minutes away. The property is clean, quiet and the staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is what you'd expect from a Holiday Inn.
If you have to call though, you'll be greeted by...

I was a little weary about staying here but we had a pleasant time. The hotel is updated, clean, and quiet. The staff could be a little more welcoming and motivated -- they talk to you as if they hate their jobs and are looking for a reason to be fired. However, breakfast was good, I felt safe in all...

Rooms updated and clean, but that's the only good part of this hotel. The mattresses are squishy and bouncy, the room was stuffy, and the majority of the staff you deal with are unprofessional and uninspired. Worst, I held the reservation with a debit card, but when I checked in with my mother, we immediately charged the room to her...

Richmond visit

visited lots of holiday inn locations nationwide and this one disappointed. It is near some better quality hotels, so I had hoped some of that would rub off on this place. It is simple, but dated, and no restaurant or bar either onsite or nearby.
The rooms were spacious and clean, but again in need of a make over.

I stayed here on a Wednesday night so I could attend a concert at the Coliseum. My room on the 4th floor was actually a two-room suite. Very clean and very spacious. The receptionist was welcoming, and although her answer about the shuttle that I had hoped to take to and from the concert was disappointing (it runs from 7...

What a reception! Judy, the receptionist has a smile and character as big as can be. She and housekeeper Tammie made us feel great. Our room was a corner room which had a strange design. A lot of nothingness. The bed was big and comfy and the bathroom what you would expect from this type of hotel. The neighbourhood, not...

My fiance and I opted for the king suite with a whirlpool tub. The tub was the best part of the stay; it was deep enough to cover my entire body and large enough to fit two. I chose this hotel because of its proximity to VCU campus. The room was clean and comfortable . The front desk staff was friendly . I have stayed in pricier hotels in Richmond, but this is my new go-to hotel. Room was spacious and clean, ample parking ($10 a day, a bargain in any city), and free breakfast! Staff was friendly. Wish my clerk had mentioned the "free pancakes in the evening" program when I checked in, could have used a late night snack.

I had never been to Richmond. Was there to tour and to visit Williamsburg in a contingency plan. WOW! The accommodations were so comfortable and inviting I really enjoyed my short stay. The Holiday Inn is very comfortable with a hot buffet...

Good Hotel With Great Staff

This Holiday Inn Express is right in downtown Richmond, close to restaurants, museums, and the VCU campus. It is a short drive to Carytown with great stores to shop.
The housekeeping staff is wonderful. Very cheerful and helpful. One problem we had was the complementary breakfast of scrambled eggs were cold, and the biscuts were hard as a rock,

This hotel is downtown, but our room was very quiet. Housekeeping was very good. There is no pool. Front desk staff were very helpful. Parking garage is under hotel, but requires use of room key to get to the hotel floors. Restaurants were nearby and there was a lot of college foot traffic, so we always felt safe.

My family and I were visiting Richmond for my younger sister's orientation at VCU. The hotel was very easy to locate and was within perfect proximity to the university. We would stay here again if in the area.

The hotel is pretty nice. It could use new carpet but other than that the room was fine. I appreciated having a microwave and fridge. I continue to be impressed by Holiday inn Express. The rooms are consistently clean, well furnished, with frig, microwave and coffee maker (which one really doesn't need as breakfast is included), and WiFi. I stayed here one night on business. The downtown location is very convenient. However, I was underwhelmed with the hotel. Almost all hotels these days have a small snack/sundry shop in the lobby, but none of the Holiday Inn hotels seem to have these. Let me start with something that I consider funny about this hotel. To take the elevators from the lobby to your room you have to use your room card. Fine, this is for security. However, there are at least two doors in the lobby area that lead to staircases which do not require a room key. I used those stairs...

The location of this HOliday Inn Express is really good and there is an attached garage so if you want to be downtown it is very convenient.
