A beautiful property from the outside. We found our room to show its age in the yellowed sheets and shower curtain. The fitted sheet was, not well fitted, barely hanging on. I usually book a room or two for visiting family or friends at the Hilton Garden Inn on the waterfront. It's central from Virginia Beach and Smithfield routes. While the room was very scenic, along the river, the bed which was supposed to be adjustable, was so hard i could not stay asleep long. the Breakfast was ordinary, not a lot of selection. the staff was very friendly and courteous.
This is an exceptional facility. GRAND and impressive. And totally unexpected for the area. And great value for a Hilton. We also had dinner at the restaurant and the food was wonderful and the view, equally as good.

I was working nights during my stay and had no difficulties sleeping. Staff was kind and helpful. I will stay here again if I am in the Suffolk area. The porch is a great place to meet up with members of your group to socialize after work, or to hang out with family and friends.

I have stayed in Hilton Hotels for the last 20 years and have found them always to be clean, quite, the staff always friendly and helpful. They are always easy to get to and have plenty of parking even in the middle of the larger cities. I feel safe and comfortable.

After checking in online and picking my room for some reason it was not available when I arrived but I was put in a similar room on a different floor. The room was big and comfortable. Check in was a breeze and the staff very friendly.

The hotel was beautiful and comfortable, but while the restaurant appears to be a nice compliment, the food was terrible. The steaks were over cooked and bland. It was a bit pricy but for the convenience and comfort I can't complain. Loved that it was near the interstate and major shopping venues. I stayed here for New Years Eve while visiting family. The staff was very courteous and polite. The room (Deluxe King) was beautiful and well equipped with amenities such as a Keurig coffee machine, small refrigerator and microwave. Both the room And bathroom were very spacious. I stayed on the first floor across from the pool. The air was incredibly caustic and drying to my throat, making it impossible to sleep at night. It could have been the chlorine in the air or the lack of humidity from the central heat. Either way, I'll never stay by the pool again and will bring a humidifier in the winter.
I worked with events manager Sheri Klym, she was amazing! Everything was perfect and the value for the money was even better. With a lot of planning, we pulled off an entire ceremony and reception at the venue for under 5,000. That included meals for 150 people! It was delicious and elegant, I'd recommend it to anyone! The location is gorgeous, too, it made for beautiful wedding photographs! :)

I really like that they were able to give me a dsicount to have a block of rooms for my guest and I. I did however have a few issues with guest trying to book them and also trying to get my own room the day of book in. All in all wonderful place and enjoyed the stay.
Poor service! Not helpful at all. If it weren't for our families taking the dirty linens off the table from the night before themselves and trying to clean up the room our wedding would have been a disaster.

Was on Honeymoon and hotel switched rooms from kings sized beds with a view to two full sized beds with no view.\n\nBefore accepting this hotel we discussed arrangements for a romantic room with a view of the Nansemond River. The hotel had agreed to this and reserved the room and then switched at the last minute on my son and daughter-in-law. I am upset and will recommend they stay elsewhere.
