I once again enjoyed my trip to Tangier Island, Virginia. Hilda Crockett's Chesapeake House was an experience all its own. This restaurant provides an atmosphere of family style dining. To save the tourist time, most of the food is already laid out on the table....

"I really wanted to like this place but just couldn't" is SOOO true. First- I reserved the one whole house, as I was traveling with my 5 kids and 2 grandkids...but when we got there, they split us up and put us in separate HOUSES....

Went for birthday...last weekend they’re open until spring

Took ferry out of Onancock (36’ Downeaster) and was met on Tangier Dock for golf cart ride to B&B. Loved my room and staff great. All u can eat breakfast and dinner with terrific crab cakes and corn pudding! Will go back again in 2018!

Of course Tangier Island is a story in itself and I highly recommend a visit to this interesting and historic island.
But, when I go there, my place to eat is Hilda Crocketts.

Hilda Crockett's Chesapeake house is a restaurant that serves meals. The meals are served Family-Style Meals. The customer services was good. Disability access is limited due to clearance space. You can eat in about 1/2 hour. You have to walk from the docks to the restaurant. You can prepaid you meal with the cruise tickets.

Hilda Crockett's restaurant servers family-style Southern meals. It is located about 1/4 mile walk from the docks. Disability access is limited with no disability bathrooms. You can order your meal when you get your boat tour tickets and it is highly recommend to do so.
