My mom had to have a tracheotomy done almost two weeks ago. She is in a rehab center and doing better than I expected. Today I found out she may not have to keep the trach. My mom has been through so much over the last 5 years and she keeps fighting. I wish I was as strong as she is.

Hampton Roads Specialty Hospital is the best, not only to the patients but they make the family feels right at home. The fourth floor is awesome, thank you Heather ( the military nurse for 20years) sorry I don't know your last name. The inside joke from the patient ( go home and take care of your children). You were the best nurse keep up the good work.

Here's another update.
They treated Dad for the pneumonia and he got better so they moved him out of ICU 6/16/15 and the next day they moved him to HRSH (Hampton Roads Specialty Hospital) which is located on the 4th floor of the old Buxton Hospital on Chesapeake Ave where he was for rehab after the first surgery. His breathing is better and he is now off the oxygen but his stitches are not...

Had a pretty rough start to my admission but now I'm two doses of pain medicine in and things are finally settling down! Unfortunately they were unable to access my port that was placed under my skin so it looks like another trip to Riverside on Monday to verify port placement in the meantime please pray that this Iv site on my arm lasts until then so I can at least continue to get Iv meds...
