No room service!

Average Rating

I have stayed here before but this time we had no room service no clean towels etc. This was a horrible experience! No more!!

Worst stay ever

Average Rating
20

This was probably the worse place I've ever stayed. I'm a retired Marine and I've had better night under the stars than at this location. Upon arrival I discovered that there was construction and the clerk informed me of this as well. When I arrived to the room the vanity light did not work and the room appeared to be dark and with an odor. As I pulled back the sheets it appeared that someone...

Sleazy joint, noisy too

Average Rating

Clean but sleazy. Very noisy. Prostitutes (plural) working the parking lot. Room furnishings adequate - no complaint there. Only problem was lots and lots of noise and some very strange people hanging out. Glad I had my dog with me - but I bathed him the next day just to be sure.

This is one of the worst hotel that we ever stayed. No.room for breakfast and finish at 9 AM. We went second day for bf. Literally nothing to eat. Just some bagle and coffee and oj, no cereal and no fruits. No place to eat. There is no laundromat. The machine is broken. Over all, it was not a good experience. Very sorry to be there

No good breakfast.

Out of over juice machine. No soup. Just some breads, coffee, and 2chairs. you can't have breakfast with your family.

Cheapest, but the worst

Average Rating

We were looking for a cheap place to stay on our way to the Outer Banks and decided to stop in Elizabeth City. This was the least expensive motel listed on Expedia, so I booked it for one night. I had previously stayed in an EconoLodge in Williamsburg, VA and it was minimal, but nice. This motel was shabby and run-down and the whole place felt a little creepy. It was also difficult to find from...

Too expensive for the quality

Average Rating
40

Paying over $50 per night for this motel is a disgrace...my room had burn stains on the ceiling and smelled of smoke despite it being non-smoking. The mini-fridge was unplugged and not cold when I arrived. Beds were uncomfortable. I expected better for $68 per night (with taxes).

Nice friendly location close to stores and shops.

Awful!!! Reservations not available. Nightmare.

Reservations that I made were not available after driving 7 hours to get rest. Very disappointed and disgusted. Never again.

Basic hotel

Average Rating

This is a basic, fairly economic hotel. We stayed one night while traveling. The room was clean, air conditioner worked and bathroom was in good condition.

Pitstop on the way to OBX

this hotel was perfect for an overnight stay after a long day of traveling. Lots of places to eat within walking distance. Would use it again in the future.

No Sleep Saturday Night

Average Rating
20

Friday night wasn't too bad, but Saturday night was extremely noisy until after 2am. No help from staff on duty. It seemed like maybe locals had rented rooms for partying, but with several men seen sitting in their cars in the parking lot we wondered if something else was going on. We thought that we would save money by staying here and driving to the outer banks, but it was not a good idea....

Impressed with cleanliness

So very clean in my room both nights and the microwave was a plus. Alex was at the front desk and helped me with ice pack when I sprained my ankle off site--very thoughtful.24 hour coffee was also nice.

The beds were somewhat uncomfy. You could tell they havent been replaced in a very long time. The room was very warm when we got in there. But overall it served it purpose and i would stay there again if i needed a room passing through that area.

Its amazing what a little paint and some new furniture and beddings would do. Staff was great, breakfast fine, stay ok. But , First my door looked like the police had knocked it down with a ram, bent and they didn't even bother to cover all the chipped paint. Room was cozy bit needed painting, one corner moulding was hanging 2 inches from wall in leading to bathroom .Someone couldn't stick a...

We went to The Outer Banks. The hotel was close and not as expensive as the hotels on the beach. Spent the day on the beach and came back to a clean room to sleep and go back to the beach again.

Average Rating

The bathroom door knob was very loose and about to fall off. The room was smoke free but I could smell that it has been smoked in.

Terrible experience

Average Rating
20

Smelled of urine and tobacco. The drains in sink and tub did not drain! There were bugs on the floor. Beds were more like hammocks! Worst place we have ever seen. Even the TV didn't work! We left and lost the money we paid! Expedia was very understanding. We left after about 10 minutes after we called around and found another hotel for July 4th. Staff not very helpful.

Mixed feelings about hotel.

Average Rating

the hotel itself was hard to find, and the room was also difficult to find once we got to the hotel. the room was clean and comfortable to be in. the complimentary breakfast was located in the lobby itself and very disappointing (not much of a selection of food, and only two counter seats to sit at).

Its a 2.5 star hotel

Average Rating

This motel was clean, nice service and overall a good stay. There was a faint odor in the "non-smoking" rooms but that's not unusual. If I am in Elizabeth City working with a crew I would definitely be staying at the EconoLodge. However, if I'm traveling with my wife? No way, Jose!

Nice hotel at fair price

The staff in this place is great, specially a guy (don't know his name) at the front desk but he speaks also Spanish. He was very helpful and courteous. The hotel is fine, the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast is very very simple so do not expect too much. Free parking and free wi-fi, nice!

I booked this reservation on hotels.com after the Fairfield Inn I had requested was sold out. I was told this was a "very highly rated hotel" which is not true. no way this would be considered comparable to the Fairfield Inn. The "non smoking" room reeked of stale smoke. It was disgusting.

The room lighting was bad. The room didn't smell very fresh. I had to leave the door open to get fresh air in. The furniture had stains in it, smelled, and was old. The blanket on the bed had cigarette burn holes in it. The refrigerator was loud. The only good thing about the room was the shower and hotel location. I felt dirty staying there. Never Again

Average Rating
20

Econo Lodge has seen my name for the last time. I only stayed two nights. The first room, I couldn't get the shower to work, there was no stopper for the tub, and I had to lift the lid off the tank to flush the toilet. They moved me to another room. This room had no bath plug either, took two hands to operate the shower, the tub had no caulking, and the exhaust fan provided no ventilation.

We had a ground floor room. The staff was very friendly and helpful and provided us with extra pillows and even poured our coffee for us as the room was already full. Decent Hotel

Average Rating

I give this hotel 3 stars since it was an OK stay for one night. We asked for a non-smoking room, but room smells like someone had been smoking there (it wasn't a strong smell, but I can tell since my nose is very sensitive). Didn't bother getting a new room, since fiancé and I arrived late for check-in, around 11pm at night, after a long day in OBX. I just slept under covers, and I was fine....

Outer Banks

Average Rating

It was a good central location to ride the Outer Banks area on our motorcycle. We liked the room for the price. It was very clean, quiet and the bed was good but the furniture all had holes and tears in the fabric, so what. I would say there again.

The room was clean, comfortable, convenient.

Staff was friendly. Room was nice, accommodating. Easy to find. Price was very affordable. Would recommend to anyone.

Old style motor lodge

Average Rating

The room was to be non-smoking yet the draperies smelled of smoke. The room was adequately clean etc. but the odor was a problem. Some of the surrounding guests were quite rowdy into the early hours. We were looking for a close stop over before going to the beach but am sure it will not be the Econo Lodge next time.

Elizabeth City Econologe.

Average Rating

Room was quiet and clean, however, it should have been a non-smoking room. Even after changing rooms I still got a smoking room. They probably do not have a non-smoking room in that hotel. Continental breakfast was sparse. The Econolodge in Batlesboro had a much nicer breakfast.

This is a what you pay what you get type of hotel. We stayed in this hotel because everything was very expensive in Outer Banks and we needed just a place for shelter which does not make a hole in our pocket. If I am with my friends, I can consider staying in this hotel but staying there with a family will definitely need a 2nd thought.

I was directed to this place by a Hotels.com phone advisor...BIG mistake.
1. Check-in: the clerk had his snack and drink on the roughly 18-inch wide opening that I had to use...he removed them but left residue and a dirty napkin in the space the entire time I was registering. Hotels.com told me the room was non-smoking...the clerk said it...

A little over priced considering the age of the motel. Room was adequate for our needs. Very disappointed in the breakfast choices. Coffee, juice, plain bagels, small danish and instant oatmeal.
