Given the short stay and the basement rate, not much was expected of the accommodations.
The hotel was older, The staff tried really hard to keep the room and the grounds clean.
Management was not very friendly. Could care less if you stayed there or not. All they wanted was the money.
This was a good place for the emergency it was needed for. Felt it was a bit pricey for a weekday and the location, but in all it wasn't a bad place to stay
Overall everything is perfect...location was great...staff was nice people...
Ants in the room
No place to sit except on the bed.
no table, desk or surface to sit at and work
I checked in at night and was very tired. But before I could get to my room, I could hear a large dog barking in one of the rooms. When I got inside my room, I realized quickly that it was an adjo...
This was the worst hotel I ever stayed at. The place needs remodeled badly. Myroom had roaches everywhere. I tried to get my money back and she said try another room. The next room had roaches as well. The kitchens apliances were disgusting .
Very filthy, cockroaches ( the palmetto bug type) mold around shower, coffee pot dirty, heard every noise made in the hotel. do not stay here. of course the people at the desk didn't care about the problems.
Nothing\n\nEverything\n\nIt was dirty . Had so much bugs crawling . It was raining out and the ceiling was leaking . It was just a horrible stay at that hotel
The room was run down. There were rust stains on tub and metal work. The bed had a sway so deep I felt I was going to fall in and never get out. All in all a 2 star would be a good fit for this place. I wish I would have had time for the pool though since it looked very clean and refreshing.
the hotel was and absolute horror.the carpeting was so filthy we couldn't even take our socks off.the tub and shower was so bad the bath mat was black and mildewed so we couldn't take showers.the box spring was so stained with what looked like blood or it was something someone had thrown out.and the ait conditioner was so encrusted with...
Didn't smell as bad as last visit.\n\nBed and linens\n\nCould use tefresh
The place was over run with what appeared to be permanent residents. Someone tried to break into our room at 2:30 AM. The room conditions were OK. Never again. When I told the agent at the desk about the attempted break in, his response was "that's too bad , I'm sorry"
vacation stop over , very easy to get off and on the interstate, near shopping and restaurants in the area
It was dirty and I felt unsafe.\n\nThe hotel was very dirty. I booked in another hotel after I saw our room. The location of the hotel wad not ideal either. There were 4 cop cars outside our room due to some problems with another guest. I did not feel safe in this hotel. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.
The Room was very dirty. The shets was dirty. It's the worst hôtel I slept in. I sleep in this hôtel at that moment cause It was to late to find another hôtel at that moment
Close to where I use to live before leaving Virginia moving to Kentucky\n\nTook pictures with my cell phone: iron was black and brown, ice build up in frig, light at edge of entry door, dirty corner in bath, previous guess hair in towel after showering which got on my face, rm safe had combination torn off could not use. other\n\nCigarette buts all about, guess sitting outside with room doors...
Cheap.....what I expected\n\nAll.....but it was expected
This place has roaches!!! And its wayyy overpriced!!! Please believe me!!! Not a good experience!!! The bathroom tiles are broken permanant stains in the tub the toilet runs oh yeah... And ROACHES!!! Whoever runs these hotels needs to shut this one down!!
The matress was old and had multiple urine stains. My friend hadto overturn the matress.Likewise, the bedspread had blood stains on the inside of the fabric yuk. There was also a moldy smell coming from the rug. As if this werent enough, the security chain on the door was rusty. We will NEVER return to this dirty hotel again. It...
ok but toilet flapper leaking, bath valve pulls out of wall room 111
great center of attractions in Chesapeake area
desk could not answer questions about All State discounts if they were applied
Very nice place. Had a good time and enjoyed our stay. Staff was friendly and helpful, room was very clean and nice. Great distance from everything.
Proximity to expressway.\n\nParking lot was full . Pretty sure there were people parked there that were not staying there .\n\nDecent hotel for the price. Would stay there again if I opt to visit VA beach again.
If I had not driven 13 hours to meet with my 2 sons (1 in the Army and 1 coming home from deployment with the Navy) I would not have stayed there even with the reservation. We were not even in the room yet when 2 police cars drove up to drop off a live-in resident of the hotel. The...
I got a non-smoking room which smelled full of cigarette smoke. The toilets looked old and I guess this is what to expect when you book a room in a two star hotel. Book a room here if all other hotels in VA Beach are full.
This was an excellent hotel for the price. The room was kept clean and the towel were as if new in whiteness and cleanliness. I think you could improve on the breakfast menu. I did not enjoy what was offered.
price, location\n\nmiantenance(plugged up sink)\n\nI have stayed there about 6-8 times in the last 4 months. It shows signs of wear and tear, but is in much better condition than most any immigrant operated motel I have ever seen. It's pretty clean and there's a small continental breakfast. The wifi hookup works well. The staff is courteous.
The room was awful! The wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling off and moldy/mildew. The bed was so used that it was sunken it and was like laying on the springs.
\n\nThe only thing I would share about this hotel is to stay clear because its dirty and a waste of money!
I stayed at the Days Inn in Virginia Beach during my daughters soccer tournament. Luckily she was staying at a different Hotel with her team. When I arrived I quickly realized it wasn't the type of place I had anticipated. This Inn was a bad experince from the onset. Once I checked into my room I (king size single/non smoking)...
I had no complains till the pool.\n\nMy grand daughter and i were locked out of the pool when we went to lay in the sun. Luckily a couple came into the pool and let us in.
Booked room for granddaughter 's birthday party because they had pool. Took kids to pool while other adultsgot the room decorated hot out of pool and slipped due to area being paintedwas injured paramedics came said very dangerous environment. Management locked kids out of room because I was injured. Needs to be closed.
Cheap price and free parking.\n\nCleanliness.\n\n
Hotel is a motel 6 style hotel - poor lighting in car park, which is free to use. Staff seemed uninterested and while able to help they had to google the most basic of directions. The room. Every room (we tried more than 1 before settling into one) had something wrong with it. The cleanliness was not good, with sticky stuff I don't even want to...
This is a motel 6 type of hotel. The staff are polite, but uninterested. The lobby is also the dining room and the breakfast area. The Breakfast is mini muffins and half bagels, which while nice are not filling. The juice - apple or orange is minute maid and comes from a machine in the lobby. The rates are cheap...
Kitchenette w/full sized frig.\n\nNeeds a little work but was clean and functional. The wifi worked so that was all I needed.
Absolutely nothing!\n\n
It looked like a hang out for drug dealers and users and was disgusting!
\n\n
This hotel was filthy dirty! The noise was outrageous from some of the guests that were staying at the hotel. The parking lot was full of what appeared to be partying. The clerk tried to find us a cleaner room to no avail, the 5 rooms that he checked, that were supposedly available, had not...
For the price, I really can't complain about this hotel. It had a great location, right next to a major highway. Had an outdoor pool that I saw some people enjoying, as well as a free breakfast - donuts, muffins, waffles, etc. My only gripe was the carpeting. Very dirty. It didn't take long for our feet to turn black from walking around in our room in our bare feet. Also killed a couple worms...
I have stayed in Days Inn facilities many times.I have NEVER been as disappointed by any before now.The wall paper was coming off the wall by the air conditioner - which was totally disgusting and in great need of a through cleaning; AND - there were bugs in the commode/shower area, the shower heating lamp was not in working order. The front desk staff were not the most friendly I've encountered.
This hotel had no lights, and people hanging outside. the rooms where not clean and four people had mice in their rooms. do not go here we had kids there and it was un safe and unhealthy. I feared for my life people where walking pass trying to unlock room doors the guest service was very unprofessional and rude.
clean and comfortable place, friendly staff, rooms are good, nice location
Overall, it was pretty good. But, there were a few problems. For example, the bathroom door wouldn't lock and the faucet needed a repair. The safe's lock needed to be fixed. If these problems were resolved, it would have been a good hotel experience.
Needed a place close to Virginia beach for surfing trip that would take 5 to a room. This was only place we could find on short notice. Was worried after reading negative reviews. Was pleasantly surprised upon room inspection. The negatives were cracked tile on bathroom floor, bathroom fan light inop, ceiling has water stains. The positives were nice clean...
had to go here for business, and booked this Days Inn as it had offered me the best price online. As I didnt pay high price, my expectations were low too. But when I stayed for 2 nites, I was realy surprised by this hotel. The staff was very helpful, the rooms were clean, all the lights were working and...
last year i went to virginia beach , i booked Days Inn as tariff was in my budget.
i thought that i will compromised with other amenities, but surprisigly i didnot need to do anything
yes i am very very much satisfied with front desk staff.
Close to the highway.\n\nI had two different rooms there and both stunk and felt dirty.\n\nI will never stay there again.
Days Inn Cheasapeake
I stayed here on a Sunday night in mid-June 1012. When I arrived at the office they found my reservation w/o any problem. I had ordered through Priceline the day before, so I had already paid. It only took a few minutes and I got my key.
This is a two story property arranged in a "U"...
The curtains were improperly installed, so that it was impossible to close them completely. We had to jerry-rig them by using the chain lock on the door to hold them closed. Also, the vent in the bathroom was missing, there was just a hole in the ceiling, but the fan ran and was very loud and annoying.
This is a dog friendly hotel. Very reasonable for the extra cost of having my dog with me for three nights.
Excellent location to the highway and spots to dine and/or have drinks.\n\nFurnishings were out-dated and not kept in good working order.\n\nA one-day stay is almost tolerable. It was surprisingly quiet at night.
I checked in on Friday, November 4 in a non-smoking room for 1 week. I was bitten by bed bugs while I slept Friday evening and all day Saturday. I have over 100 bites across my back, shoulders, arms, and legs. When I showed management my bites they graciously offered to move me to another room which I accepted instead...
I booked a stay at this hotel for two nights to participate in my sisters wedding in Virginia Beach, VA. I ended up needing to stay one more night. When I asked to extend my stay, the manager locked me out of my room (cut off my key card) and demanded that I pay $100 more for the extra night!...
The hotel was very clean. Staff was nice. The hotel was located near Restaraunts and shopping. Only 20 miles from Va. Beach. Dunkin Donots right in praking lot.You can walk to the restaraunts.
Went to VA for a friends wedding. Was worried due to all the bad reviews but instead found a super clean hotel that looked looked on the inside, and the outside wasn't horrible either. Complimentary breakfast was fine. The bad? the cleaning service started at 9 am and didn't end until 5 or 6, including the fact we got kicked out so they could finish. Other than that, nice stay.
staff was friendly and helpful. i would stay again
Costumer service was the worst, rude and not helpful at all. The rooms did not look like what you see on the website, stinky and nasty. The room where one of my friends was staying with her 6 month old baby did not had an ac, it had broke and when she went to the office, they told her there was nothing they could do. Next to my room were some people drinking and being loud. and last but not...
The location was excellent. It was near stores, gas stations, the post office, and all different kinds of foods places to choose from. The hotel it self looked dreary. Boards were missing from the stairs, curtains were dirty, bed had stains on it, rug needed a good cleaning.I guess it was true you get what you pay for. This was really only a place to lay your head down. Nothing spectacular about...
I reserved two rooms three plus months in advance for my wife and I as well as another couple we were traveling with. On arrival I was informed we were not going to have adjoining rooms, we got to our rooms and in my wife and I had our towels and was cloths tossed in the middle of our bed, the mini fridge had food left in it and a container that looked to have urine in it. The television worked...
We worked in the area for several weeks and the staff was always ready to help and was quite friendly. we had no problems really worth mentioning
When I first went in I checked out the bathroom, that was clean but needs some updating and remodeling. The floors were not vacumed very good. That night after my shower,I pulled the covers down and the sheets were all wrinkled like they were not changed. I looked closer and they were DIRTY. Had crumbs all over them and dirt,...
Hello,
I am very disappointed and disgusted with this Days Inn.
My family went to vacation in VA Beach and decided to stay at a Days Inn. I picked this one because it had the best reviews. Well to my surprise it was HORRIBLE.
When we arrived and checked the room for cleanliness there was actual BLOOD stains on the...
went to the beach
Without a doubt, this was one of the worst motels I have ever stayed in. As you pull into the parking lot you see peeling paint, overgrown weeds, nasty parking lot. When checking in, there are velvet poinsettias in the lobby, (this is July!) Rooms were nasty, dead mosquitos on the walls, bugs in the bathroom light, nasty box springs, rusty hinges on doors. Just to sum it up, we slept in our...
Upon arrival, the area was dark and noisy; people were sitting outside one or two rooms despite the fact that the temperature and humidity were in the high 80's; the bed was hard and the linen was wrinkled, the bathroom floor was weak and cracked; the microwave was dirty with left-over, spilled food inside; the furniture was sticky; hair dryer light flickered all night; and the vanity faucet...
[...] We had filthy towels that had been used by someone else and the bed cover smelled bad. The employees weren't out in front to help the customers. We had to ring for service. The continental breakfast was watered down juice, not much to put on the bagels and bread, and put away before we had time to eat. They were supposed to have it out until 9:30.
We Had a awesome time and the location was great from the oceanfront bcach location. It was very convenient to the shopping areas and resturants. I would give it 3 1/2 stars becos our hotels sink knob was broken and everytime we turn on the water the comes it would comes off other than that the location was Awesome.
We recently stayed at a Days Inns in Chesapeake and experienced a nice stay, but we felt that the premises were run down. This particular Days Inn needs some serious upgrading. The bed squeaked every time you moved. The light switches were not clean. The bathroom was too small and the "flap" in the toilet bowl needed to be manually put in place or the water would run all the time. The carpeting...
not too shabby
The rooms can be cleaner and they need some remodeling done to the rooms; because i have been at least to 3 other rooms at this hotel and maintence is needed.
for my personal needs it has the perfect location and they usually have good service depending on whos working. i would like a better rate but overall im satisfied with my stay when i go there.
This place may not have been a Hilton or anything, but it sure is located in a wonderful place for business meetings. Right off of the highway, I got great sleep and for less money than I would have ever expected. Didn't get to use the pool since it was too cold. The best part was the breakfast! Always need...
nice relaxing
It was okay. It was cheap place and you get what you pay for. :) The staff was friendly.
we called before making the reservation, they said the rooms have wi-fi. after checking in they said "it's supposed to, depending which room you are in, if its close enough to the lobby then you should get it, if not then just come downstairs and sit at the lobby". the tv was so old, left side of the screen was pink and green, there was "snow" and static noise on every channel.found hair on the...
My night at the Days Inn in Summerton was so plesant, I looked forward to another very enjoyable stay in Chesepeake. I was extremely dissapointed! Everything right before was wrong here. The room was dirty with mold all around the bathroom and shower. The shower fixture was held to the wall with duct tape. The pompus gentleman who ran it was argumentative. It was noisy and difficult to...
Room could use a good cleaning. Sheets looked dirty and stained. Could not wait to leave this Hotel.
the location was fantastic ...many stores and restaurants. The bed was super comfortable and Hugh. I liked the full size refrigerator and stove. The maintenance man was quick to respond and repair stuff. The check in was easy and fast. They had a continental breakfast. The housekeeping staff was good about giving me clean towels. I found the door lock did not lock behind me. I called the desk...
quiet and pleasant
Hotel was great except there were not enough towels, they were small and very rough on the skin
the room needed a better cleaning .no maid service on second day no towels.
We stayed for two nights for business in Portsmouth and Virginia Beach. Lots of hot water, Ok cable.Staff works hard to make things right. Our AC brokethe first hour we were there and they moved us toanother room. This is not a Hilton, so don't expect fluffy towels. This place fills quickly between6 and 9 pm, so it is best to get there early forthe quieter rooms, if that is important. ...
quick check in, out. great for over night stay. clean room. easy parking. quiet.
Everybody seem very friendly but you could not get extra pillows
Good location, walking distance to many restaurants. Fairly clean. Pool was too tiny to mention. I chose this hotel for the wireless internet access, which was only available close to the office, I did not have a signal in my room. This was very aggravating.
Whilst travelling down the East coast we stopped off in Virginia Beach for 4 nights. We booked this Days Inn online mainly due to the very cheap and value for money rates that we were getting.
Even though the rooms were cheap I can honestly say we thoroughly enjoyed our whole stay at Days Inn. We were very surprised by...
The picture was beautiful, the motel was not.
The hotel was dirty and basically falling apart. Aside from the good location, and the friendly desk clerk, our hotel was terrible! We won't be staying there again.
We didn't have enough washcloths and towels to accommadate our needs. There was hair left on the faucet in the bathroom. We had to go out and buy our own soap. Also, there were stain on the iron board cover.
The location was excellent. Lots of stores, and restaurants all right by. We liked the the fact we were about a half hour away from Virginia Beach, The Aquarium and the Water Park, yet we weren't right on the busy beach front. The pool was really nice as well. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody.
In short: This place rates as one of the worst rat holes that I have stayed in during my 55 years of travel. Other than the nice new heating/cooling unit in the room, I could find nothing else worthy of praise. Details follow:
My family of four came down to Chesapeake with a sports team that booked rooms for two...
Had business in Chesapeake and went to Va. Beach for a couple days. Wasn't in the room much, but it was convenient to the 2 places I had to go to.
We were just staying over 1 night - thankfully. The room was filthy, had roaches in the bathroom and stunk like smnoke. The door lock was broken, lights did not work and there were no towels. When we asked the front for towels we were told we could have 2 more - there were 4 people !Overall people were friendly but the place is a dump.
Rooms were clean and prepared for us.Would have liked to have a small refrigerator in the room.Pool was a pleasant surprise!Lots of good and affordable eating places nearby, including the Dunkin Donuts/Baskin Robbins store in the middle of the lot.
You get what you pay for. Cheap motel with dirty bathroom. Did not get room service for our second night stay.Why?. Lousy review at Orbitz. Orbitz sucks as a hotel reservation site!!!
Hotel was located in nearby area of lots of stores and fast food restaurants. However, the staff was very slow to do check in. Took him about 30 minutes to check in every guest. Hotels needs maintenance, specially in the bathtub and stairs going to second floor. Overall, it is ok but I would recommend it.
The kids enjoyed the pool. The continental breakfast offered a good selection. We were unable to get towels when requested-we had to wait and there was never enough for a family of 4. It was ok to just sleep and watch TV before going to bed after our day's jouney. My husband loved having Dunkin Donuts right in the lot.
peaceful and in a good location for shopping
When I checked into this hotel, I felt fairly comfortable with it. It seemed pretty clean and I didn't see anything that would alarm me. That was until my hsuband and I were laying in bed watching tv and he kept complaining of his legs and arms itching. We wrote if off as dry skin, since he had taken a...

the picture is soooooo not the rooms that you get, this was supposed to be remodled in 09/05 NOOOOO way , holes in the carpet, my 4 year old left with half dollar size WELTS on her leg from either a spider bite or BED BUGS YUCK the mattress sagged soooo bad major back ache, they reuse shampoo containers that...
Our room had not been cleaned in several months - cobwebs around the windows - mold on the shower curtains - Gum on the carpet - rust around the sink and tub - room had not been dusted in several months - fridge was dirty = there was garbage in the trash cans - above all of this the hotel had bed bugs - can you imagine laying in bed and seeing these bugs crawling on the linnen - I about went...
This was one of the nastiest hotel i have ever stayed before. The carpet looked like it had never been cleaned, big spots on carpet like grease stains or dog mess. Bathtub was not clean and had white stuff floating in water. Not enough towels for 4 guests, not enough toilet paper or pillows. Only 2 pillows for 2 full beds and 4 guests. Very very unhappy with room.
This hotel, Days Inn off Battlefield in Chesapeake, was DISGUSTING! The front service was very nice as were the cleaning people, BUT:
-It looked like someone had thrown up beside the bed on the carpet.
-There were black, curly hairs on the sink faucet!
-The bathroom makes you dizzy, the tile is sinking in as if there's floor damage, and...
the front staff was great. The rooms were dirty and had worms on the floor, which were not cleaned up . Sheets not changed in a week. Keep your shoes on. Filthy just filthy.
I lived in Chesapeake for 21 years an often had family members stay here while visiting. After moving to PA an wanting to visit my active duty daughter we booked 6 rooms. That was the biggest mistake we ever made! Rooms were dirty, toilet was over flowing in one of the rooms as we entered and the clientele was questionable....
Days Inn Chesapeake/Virginia Beach Norfolk, Chesapeake, Virginia This motel was very convenient to the weekend activity that was planned. It was close to many restaurant options, shopping options and the highway. What I really did not like about the motel was that the bed linen did not look fresh. Also, we were in a non-smoking room and the room service individual was smoking while...
We were here for 5 nights. First they gave us a non-smoking romm that reeked of smoke. Second the next room didn't have a shower curtain and the room wasn't very clean. Two days our beds were not made and one day they didn't have any bath towels. I stayed at this motel in 1994 and it was nice but...
I called the hotel and made my reservation. When I arrived the price was $10.00 more than quoted on the phone and the grounds did not look at all like the pic. It was scary and I was alone. I didn't say anything. I went to the room and found the TV had no remote and no buttons on the...
Had I read the reviews on this hotel, I would have cancelled my reservation for sure. I experienced the same disgusting accomodations as everyone else. Dirty, stained carpeting...dirty linens, only 2 towels with no other towels available at the front desk...PLUS, the boxspring collapsed while we were sleeping on it! Never again...
My husband and I have family out in Chesapeake so we decided that we would vacation for a week out there. We decided to get a hotel that is access to everything from restaurants to attractions. That was Days in Chesapeake. I must say that when we first got there the desk attendant was very nice she hooked us up...
This Place is nothing like you see on thier website.
It was the dirtiest room i've ever seen.
the sheets were even dirty!!!
We booked this room for 4 days but left the very next morning.
I could not believe how filthy this room was(seriously)
all the amenities we paid for were not available either.
Don't stay at the Days...
The first nite of my honeymoon involved this hotel. I booked it ahead of time. The photos on their website gave the idea the hotel was cozy. Very mis leading. We arrived and were confused since the hotel didn't look ANYTHING like its photo, and our room was gross. Imagine driving from Toronto, ON early that morning and opening a...
I was somewhat disapointed when I got to my room at 12:am and found no towels or bath clothes. Had to go to front dest to get some. Other than that, the stay was fine.
I had this great idea for a family vacation with extended family to vist other family members. I had booked this hotel for the " great " price. We stayed for 4 days. I wish we could've afforded something else. I had reserved two rooms under two differnt confirmation numbers. What I found out later was they only used one...
This has to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The carpet was so dirty you couldn't walk on it in bare feet or socks without them getting dirty. The carpet had 2 spots with iron burns.
The shower floor must have been broken at some point in the past and was 'repaired' by glueing a shower mat...
Paid for Nonsmoking room - Door was open when we arrived and the room smelled of smoke. There was a pack of cigarettes in the room. We thought that the maid might have been in there smoking because the door was not locked or latched, it was open!!!!!!!
The room was filthy. I took the blunt end of a pencil...
A coworker and I stayed here for a nearby conference. Upon arriving and stepping into the room, I was hit with a coughing fit from some cleaning product that was used. The mirrors were streaked, the shower curtain moldy, the chairs had hair and dust on them and the back of the door was filthy. We asked for and received...
