Attorney and Guardian ad Litem guilty of professional misconduct and committing fraud against the court. Ms. King engaged in inappropriate relations with the father of minor clients she was appointed, by the court, to represent. Ms King is also guilty of committing perjury, presenting a biased and false report to the court and withholding critical evidence from the court, which was obtained in her investigation. All of the above is supported by evidence and witness testimony, beyond a reasonable doubt. Her actions initiated minor children being removed from their mother and life-long, full-time caregiver, upon her recommendation to the court and without cause, then being placed in the primary custody of their father, despite his well-documented history of spousal abuse, arrest record and multiple protective orders issued against him for acts of domestic assault against his wife, the mother of the children, all of which were known to Ms. King, to include a current protective order issued by the court at the time Ms. King made such statements to the court regarding the father's fitness as a parent. While these acts of domestic violence took place in the presence of the minor children, Ms. King included in her official report to the court that because there was no evidence that the father had ever been physically abusive to the children, she had no reason to believe he would do so. This, despite her awareness of his acts of abuse against his wife when the children were present. Her unlawful removal of the children (both toddlers) from their mother began a year-long court battle that earned her more than $32,000 in GAL fees, for which she is currently in litigation to obtain from the parents, despite the mother's lack of employment and impending bankruptcy as a direct result of this case and a total of more than $90,000 in attorney's fees. The mother has not been employed since the birth of her son, now more than five years of age, and she has, to date, been unable to obtain employment. The mother fears she could be held in contempt and jailed for her failure to pay any court-ordered GAL fees, which would, again, prevent reasonable access to her children and cause them emotional damage, in addition to the profound suffering they have already endured as a result of Ms. King's fraudulent actions and abuse of power.
If this attorney is suggested as the court-appointed Guardian ad Litem in your case, insist on another attorney to represent the interests of your minor children--you have the option of declining a particular Guardian ad Litem. In my case, she filed her report with the court and made recommendations as to custody without even attempting to meet my children and discover how they were doing, or...
