In Short
The first Marriott hotel opened in 1957, and has since expanded to several different brands, with Courtyard serving business travelers. In addition to free daily newspaper...
We recently stayed at the Courtyard after selecting it for two key amenities: room wifi and a pool. As we were combining a family trip with the need to work in the evening when kids were asleep, it was doubly disappointing to find that a)the pool was out of service both days of our stay and b)the wifi in the...
Nice Marriott Courtyard with good rates within walking distance of several great places to eat. Just steps away from the Texas Roadhouse, which is THE place to eat in this vicinity. (Be prepared to wait for seating however.) Whitney at the front desk took very good care of checking me in and made me feel like I was the most...
I give this visit a 3, because Tara took great care of us and tried to find solutions for us. When we booked, I confirmed that the hotel had WiFi and an indoor pool. They said yes. A previous review had said it was broken, so I wanted to confirm from a review in from the past.
When we arrived,...
I absolutely love this hotel. The Manager works very closely with me when I schedule guest in town for lectures, interviews, or events on behalf of my university to ensure that the guest have a wonderful experience. They have gone above and behind to make special shuttle van arrangements and taxi accommodations. It is truly a pleasure working with this...
Off the beaten path yet close to plenty of restaurants and shopping. Ample parking provided. My room was clean and easily accessed. Only complaint would be that the lamps in the room had very low wattage bulbs and it was impossible to read with such poor lighting.
This hotel was as expected for $83 a night ? Hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. Room was comfortable and quiet. Minor complaints (very minor!), there was two shampoos & no conditioner, and no coffee cups stocked by the coffee pot. There were two glasses on the desk, both of which did not look very clean. Again, these wouldn't sway my decision to stay there again. Overall, would...
From beginning to end the stay at this hotel was a wonderful experience in spite of the sad circumstances. My large family stayed here recently for a funeral. Angela Neal checked in our large group efficiently and professionally. She even walked around the reception desk to hand each one of us our room key. During our stay Tara Ransom arranged...
Very nice property. Rooms are very comfortable, staff responsive and courteous. Have what most need for a pleasant business experience. Would recommend for any reason travel brings to the area. Convenient to nearby history.
Great room and location, right near I-64. The staff was quite accommodating, able to fix a room issue quickly.
Used the weekend to visit my son who was here from Alaska for USCG training. Location was convenient.
Nice hotel. I booked it for the indoor pool Which was unusable due to the water temperature. Kids were disappointed.
We decided to stay here based on the reviews and rate. We were not disappointed. Other than some damage to the front of the building, this property was immaculate. The staff was so friendly, but it was genuine friendliness, not forced. Each staff member we encountered asked us how our stay was going and if we needed anything. As a...
When I came to check in with front desk I was pleasantly surprised by the courteous and helpful staff. Any questions I had were answered and I was informed of extra amenities offered by the hotel. When I got in my room I was very pleased with how nice the room was.
Standardhotel ohne besonderen Charm, geeignet für Businessaufenthalte, kurze Besuche und dergleichen. Gastronomieauswahl in unmittelbarer Nähe.
Great staff, nice rooms, good gym and pool. Only down side was the mold in the air.
The staff was great the service at the Bistro sucked. It took 45 minutes to get a latte.
Staff was friendly, room was always cleaned even though I had a crazy daily schedule. More than once they brought the coffee area to life for me when I would come dragging in after regular hours. Highly recommend you give this hotel a try!
Awesome! I arrived late and was greeted with sunshine.
Tristan and September were so gracious and patient. I enjoyed my stay..the location is a well kept secret!
The next morning the housekeeping staff was just as professional. You could hear them in the hallway doing their work but they were careful not too be loud and disturbing....
A wonderful overnight stay.
From Angela, to Malcomb, and most definitely Colby who put on a spectacular wine tasting event and had guest laughing and smiling until the very end, the atmosphere is great. With familiar restaurants in the area and the coastline a few miles away...nice place to stay on the road.
Only issue I saw was a front pillar has been broken holding a facial awning which was roped off. Other than that the place was wonderful
Me and my wife stayed here for the first time on our way to Myrtle beach. It was a great stop and we would love to do it again next time we drive down south. Great view of the center pond and fountain. Clean and comfortable!
There are many restaurants nearby, some within walking distance. Easy on off to freeway. Short drive to Ferguson Center for the Arts. One drawback: heavy sweet smell from cleaning products or some kind of air freshener.
We stayed here Nov 2015 when son's hockey team had some games in Yorktown. The hotel was super reasonable and the staff was great. All the dads especially liked the gas fire pit for hanging out at night.
Was down from Richmond for soccer tournament. Texas Roadhouse right across parking lot. Clean, friendly and well kept.
My son and I were in town for baseball at CNU and stayed at this Marriott for just one night. It was very nice, clean and everyone was friendly. It is only 10 minutes from the university and there are restaurants within walking distance and others just a short drive. The room was spacious and clean. The staff at the...
Water pressure in Room low, hair dryer would only blow semi warm air, lighting too dim in vanity area,
No place to put luggage - no luggage rack, only 1 regular coffee and 1 decaf - we drink regular. Overall not a satisfying stay
Stayed here on business. I have used this Courtyard on several previous trips to the Hampton Roads area. This is just a good, solid choice for a business trip. Good location. Quiet. Exceptional cleanliness. TV was all HD, and WiFi was fast enough to stream Netflix. Food at the Bistro was actually not too bad, and the service was friendly...
Great room, microwave, fridge, pool, bath very clean and new, small porch, movies right down the road.
I love to stay at this Courtyard. The staff is amazing--friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Bistro style restaurant for breakfast and dinner; but is you prefer, other choices are available within a short distance.
I've stayed here several times and for the most part have had a great experience. Room is clean and comfortable. Staff is friendly. I didn't stay for breakfast but there is a small bistro-type eatery downstairs where you can purchase breakfast. I would like for coffee to be available 24 hours a day like in some hotels but there is...
I've stayed in Marriott Courtyard hotels many times before, and one of their hallmarks is that they are generally the same wherever you go, i.e. the furniture and room looks modern and more upscale as does the hotel lobby and social areas. This location was true in that sense, and much more. The rooms held to the same design but were far nicer than past locations because the layout was better;...
Great staff, Awesome beds, clean and quiet rooms....what more is there to know?
We had a softball tournament. Was a very pleasant stay
Quiet location but still very close to the interstate for getting around. Lots of shopping and food choices nearby. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The only negative is we came back to our room around 2pm and it had not been cleaned yet. Hotel staff came to the door about 30 min later and asked if we needed service. I declined since we were there to relax a bit before going out for...
The staff were very polite and helpful. The room was clean but had a musty odor. The room stayed humid. The bathroom had hair left in the shower.
Love the staff everyone was so friendly.....very cordial
We stayed here just one night. The staff was very friendly and made you feel very welcome. The hotel looked clean and modern. It is in a suburban-like location so you will need a car to get to local attractions from here.
In the morning, we enjoyed breakfast at the hotel cafe. The breakfast staff were very nice staff and atmosphere was peaceful and relaxed.
My only complaint about this hotel...
Usually a reliable consistent experience wherever you go, although this time our first-floor room had a disagreeable smell that may have been mildew in the heating/AC unit. If we had not checked in so late (11 PM) and were staying more than one night I would have insisted on being moved but we were just too tired to go through...
At all times, everyone one was extremely helpful.
We stayed for three nights at this hotel while in the Yorktown area. We arrived late and although we had requested a quiet king room, were given a room right next to the kitchen and eating area. The evening desk clerk was concerned it might be noisy so we instead took a look at a queen room, which turned out...
Great friendly, helpful staff. Easy to deal with/getting an early check in time. Room was quality like most all Courtyards you see. Water pressure could have been a little better, especially in the sink I think.
Staff was grwat. They actually gave out a goodie bag when checking in, which came in handy for a little snap. The location us good. There are plenty restaurants nearby. The room was clean and comfy.
I just stayed here a second time and they continue to have a great place to stay. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Classic Courtyard hotel, facility offers all that a business traveler would need and a great price.
Worst hotel stay out of hundreds.
As I approached the hotel doorway, I smelled very toxic air. Inside, there was "very" heavy perfume; however, there was a layer of toxic air underneath. It existed throughout the hotel.
By the third night, I was so ill that I could not remain in the hotel. - I doubt that many guests can detect more than the perfume. But undoubtedly the owners know about this...
My stay was great. Room was clean. Front desk staff nice. My only complaint was that housekeeping knocked on my door at 9:30!to clean it. Check isn't until 11:00 and they disturbed me by knocking on my door.
Location, location, location. Its the reason we chose the hotel. We were on the fourth floor. There was no breakfast provided. The staff was courteous and friendly.
The staff was great very helpful and the location is also good, this is my second time staying and will book again.
Nice stay, staff was very friendly and helpful. Clean and decent gym with 2 treadmills, elliptical and room to do weights. Had free wi-fi and comfortable beds. Close to Busch Gardens and williamsburg to be away from tourist but close to attraction.
Absolutely wonderful. Everyone was accommodating and friendly, the room was beautiful. We loved it.
I was assisted very professionally and helpfully by Michelle at the front desk in finding a room in a pinch. My stay, in spite of the hotel being very full was very quiet and restful. Beneficially, the hotel is located near many restaurants and stores in Newport News. I would highly recommend staying here and really appreciate their hospitality!
The husband and I have been on vacation for a week. Traveling to different Marriott from DC to Norfolk, and now Yorktown. All I can say is pleaseeeee STAY HERE. OMGGGG. This place is magical. The rooms are so clean, the staff is excellent. The pictures speak for there self. This place brought me to tears. We stayed at the...
This was my second stay...enjoyed the stay and if I am to return to the area - I will stay again. Excellent - shopping, restaurants, banking , all within walkingdistance
We hosted a family reunion at the hotel and couldn't have had a better experience! My stay at the Courtyard Newport News Yorktown was by far the best I have ever enjoyed at a hotel. EVERY single staff member that we dealt with was friendly, accommodating and went out of their way to meet our needs and expectations. The overall...
Our room was always in tip top shape, we were always stocked, the staff was very friendly, it was an overall great stay. If there's only one thing that bothered me a bit was the AC, I'm used to literally sleeping next to one that's cranked all the way with the lowest possible degrees, so for me the AC wasn't...
Dirty bed linens, room was not cleaned when we arrived an checked in
The staff was amazing and helpful and courteous. The staff was genuinely courteous, you could tell they meant it and were not just saying the words. Their actions in fulfilling all of our requests proved this, and we made numerous requests
Someone else mentioned the marvelous, friendly, customer-focused staff - and I wholeheartedly agree! Michelle on the front desk checked us in with the warmest,
Most informative check-in I think I've ever experienced anywhere. She even walked us round the corner to show us where the info brochures on area attractions were displayed.
And when I bought a couple beers out...
We stayed there this weekend for a baseball tournament (apologies to previous reviewer). With over 40 families with rowdy boys descending on the hotel, the staff was incredibly accommodating. From the welcome we received at the front desk, to the housekeeping supervisor and staff, to the maintenance guys, every single person greeted us with a smile and a great hello,...
Soon as I walked in the door, I was greeted by the friendliest hotel staff I've ever encounter. The room was great as well, my stay was great except for the fact that there's only one elevator, and then the kids baseball tournament group checked in. The chaos!!! I know the staff have no control on it, specially with the...
Good stay the poll area could use some updating
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I was impressed that virtually everyone greeted us with a smile and helpful attitude. Although I was only there for one night, I will definitely use that hotel again.
The hotel itself was very clean and quiet, but what set it apart were the incredible people working there. Everyone was unbelievably friendly and helpful. I'm not sure I've ever felt more welcome at a hotel. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. The location was convenient with many restaurants in the area.
I stayed here for a tennis tournament and it was delightful. EVERYONE who worked there was friendly and so helpful. Rooms were clean and comfy and the BISTRO was perfect for freshly made quick eats but tons of nearby restaurants some you could easy walk to. Very nice neighborhood. Would definitely stay again if I had the same schedule.
Excellent accommodation, good neighbor, hotel staff was very professional. & helpful.
I enjoyed my stay at the hotel everything was nice
Wonderful front desk helped get us checked in early after our red eye flight. Convenient and comfortable, a good value.
The Courtyard Marriott in Yorktown Virginia, has to be one of the best hotels I have visited to date. The Team of Staff was extremely pleasant, professional, and obviously enjoyed their jobs. Tarra and Mike were just a few among the amazing staff that went over and above to ensure my stay was effortless. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms...
We were in town for a family function and found this little gem. The staff could not have been more helpful! We were planning on going to Virginia Beach for the day but were dreading the 45 minute drive. The staff at the bistro suggested a closer beach that locals go to, we loved it! Thanks Deb and Coretta!!! I...
I felt like this hotel was not kept up as well as it should have been and was a bit overpriced.
The staff at this hotel provided an excellent welcome. I used the Marriott app to check in and it was seamless. The room was well outfitted and in great condition. It was well situated with plenty of eating establishments in close proximity.
We stayed here as a family while visiting historic Yorktown. My husband mistakenly left two hand-made shirts in the room when we checked out. We called two days later, they had found the shirts and immediately sent them back to us. They also received a package for my husband which came to the hotel after we left, so they called...
The only problem was the proximity of a bar that was noisy due to loud customers arguing outside!
Great rate for a great room in a great location. I booked this hotel for one night and was quite impressed with the service. I didn't get to enjoy any of the amenities due to checking in late at night and checking out early in the morning. However, the room was lovely, and the bed was absolutely phenomenal. I slept very well. I will book this hotel if I'm ever in the area again.
Checked in at 2 AM, was offered late check out! Thankful for an indoor pool for my two granddaughters to enjoy. A continental breakfast would have been nice! Breakfast at the Bristo was expensive for what was actually a contintental breakfast. Coffee was over $2.00 and no refills.
We had a fantastic weekend away at the Courtyard Marriott. It was relaxing, clean environment and made our beach getaway so nice.
Nice hotel close to everything - lots of places to eat and shop if that's your thing. Hotel staff very friendly and hotel very clean. Reasonable rates. Only complaints are that the rug in the room was very old and needs to be replaced and mattress was less than comfortable = lumpy.
Highly recommended...great price. Stayed 2 days and would stay again
Needed a hotel fairly close to the Hampton Convention Center. This one is about 6 miles away via I64. There are hotels closer but the folks we traveled with stayed here so we followed suit. The hotel is clean and the staff friendly. The free breakfast is good. The free WiFi worked well. Our room had two queen sized beds...
I don't stay in hotels often because they tend to get my reservation messed up or something. The staff here were all very curtious and the manager made sure everything was prefect. I've never felt more as home at a hotel. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Room Service went beyond the normal; cleaning services put in an extra personal touch for our celebration
Great
The service was excellent. We had a great stay. We will definitely be back when we are in the area next.
Let me first say thank you for the great customer service in the Bistro and the front desk. I really appreciated the effort to get my husband and I checked in before check-in time. We had a funeral to attend at 11am and needed to get changed.
We were also very thankful for the great service in the Bistro.
Now...
The customer service was emasculate! The beds were very comfortable and the facility was very clean, rooms, gym, pool area etc. Staff was available to help for whatever your needs or concerns were.
We are not having a good start so far the room was dirty the bed had stains in it and hair and the pillows we saw had sweat stains one at least one of them. We are here for week let's hope it gets better.

No coffee or food until 06:30 is an inconvenience to working guests
The room and common areas were all very clean and quiet. The room itself was very comfortable, with more than enough pillows, blankets, and towels. The staff are all very friendly and helpful--my keycard stopped working (probably because it was next to my cell phone), but they fixed it fast with no problems.
The only issue I ran into was an alarm clock that went off at 5 AM in one of the...
Everyone was so friendly and nice. Our room was very clean, large and so comfortable. We enjoyed our one night stay and it was very reasonable. Will stay again at a Marriott!
Quick getaway for my husband and I. Very enjoyable and very comfortable. The bed was a little slice of heaven.
I can't say enough about this hotel. I accompanied my husband on a business trip last week and we stayed at this property for just a couple of days. Everyone, I mean *everyone* was friendly, courteous, and helpful. Special kudos to the kind bartender--she was exceptional! The hotel was clean to include our room and all public areas. The entire...
Last month for business I stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott in Yorktown but had to change my future reservations to another hotel due to lower per night cost elsewhere. When I brought this to Angela's attention, she informed me that she was able to match the lower rate.
In addition, she asked where I was working and told me...
The staff at this hotel started the process right, cheerful and professional! The bed was wonderfully comfortable and the room clean and nicely decorated. Will certainly use this hotel again and recommend it to others.
Courtyard by Marriott in Yorktown is a wonderful place to stay for your visits to the area. The hotel itself is about 5 minutes from I-64 and is located across the street from a shopping area with numerous restaurants, a grocery and other stores. The hotel itself is attractive, with easy, spacious free parking and a welcoming, pretty lobby. The...
If you are okay with no one at the front desks, questionable visitors (not guests), staff that goes out to cars (that are not guests) and just a horrible stay, this is your hotel. As a Gold Elite member, i now question if I should try other chains. I travel 40 weeks out of the year for almost 10 years...
Overall we were satisfied with our stay. The staff was welcoming and pleasant, the room appeared to be clean. However there was a bad odor in the hall and the room. It smelled like animal. I think it might be in the carpet. I researched several hotels in the area and I don't remember this one being pet friendly but...
This hotel is a great deal. The room rate is low but the accommodations were above what I expected. The room looks as nice as the pictures and I also noted that it was very quiet which was surprising because the parking lot was almost completely full. The room and bathroom was clean and all the appliances worked pretty good....
My wife and I stayed at the hotel over Thanksgiving. We have family that lives in the area. The staff at this hotel is unbelievably friendly and will go out of their way to assist you. On Thanksgiving morning we had breakfast at the hotel. No one wants to work on Thanksgiving. Yet, the woman who was working at the...
The Courtyard in Newport News is one of the newer buildings we've stayed in (clerk told us it was built in 2008, but it looked new!). Nice lobby area with a bistro. Unlike another review I just read, we were greeted very nicely by Dawn who also suggested area restaurants that were easy to get to. We found Trader Joe's,...
Stayed here for the NCAA National Volleyball Championships being held at Christopher Newport. The staff was great, helpful, nice and accommodating. We had several rooms of students who were coming to support the team and they all arrived a different times and the staff accommodated each room when they arrived even though they were coming in the morning.
The location...
Staff was friendly and accommodating. No free breakfast. Very comfortable bed and better than average linens. Bathroom sink area is cramped, but the rest of the room is spacious. This is conveniently located to all Yorktown attractions.
Travelled to the area for a tournament and absolutely loved this hotel. Close to excellent steak house
They staff was exceptional! Walk our the door, cross their parking lot, and you are at a steak house.
I am a silver rewards member of Marriott and wasn't even recognized upon arrival. The hotel is well appointed but the staff was a big disappointment. There are not a lot of perks (managers welcome or free breakfast for example) and that is standard for most Courtyards however the free popcorn wasn't even replenished and when I asked if they...
Always the convenience, the pleasant staff, the cleanliness of the rooms and no pets are allowed!\n\nNo\n\nWe love staying at the Marriott. We always get our money's worth.
Everything!\n\nNo!\n\nLoved, loved, LOVED staying here. Nice room with balcony and the most comfortable bed ever. Everything was clean and the sheets and towels smelled nice. Desk staff was very nice and housekeeping was fantastic. One woman I'm particular whom I think was a supervisor (wish ro got her name) was super fantastic - genuinely friendly and helpful. She is a credit to the hotel....
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel.
The calm vibe and location.\n\nTaking our daughter to Orientation at CNU. Very convenient location to the campus. Will definitely be back many times over the next 4 years!
The staff was completely over the moon. Very friendly and welcoming. Easy to access.\n\nNo\n\nThe location was off the beaten path and surrounded by great restaurants that I frequently enjoy going to.
The room was exactly what we wanted.\n\nNo.\n\nThe staff was very friendly and helpful.
Good location for my work. Close to shopping and restaurants. It's always clean and the staff is very accommodating.\n\nNo.
front desk service, room service, indoor pool and whirlpool\n\nwi-fi wouldn't connect and front desk computer need updating
It was a convenient location. The room was very clean and the staff courteous. The hotel is fairly new. The bed was very comfortable!\n\nThe room was a small and crowded with furniture. The TV was placed so that I had to twist to the right to watch it. The shampoo, etc. were not replaced after the room was cleaned so I had to go to the front desk and ask for some.\n\nI have never stayed at...
Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms very clean. No hidden fees.\n\nNo.\n\nIt's located within walking distance of several chain restaurants. Cafe inside the hotel was good too. There is a small indoor pool with a Jacuzzi. Room had a refigerator and microwave. In-room wifi was included and reception was pretty good. No surprise fees.
I've stayed here a few times now due to family living in the neighborhood. No complaints to speak of. Usually a a pretty decent nightly rate for the area,...
Large rooms, great heated pool!\n\nHeating unit was noisy in the room....had to turn of during nite\n\nVery friendly staff, clean, nice common areas, comfortable bedding
Wonderfully clean......\n\nFree breakfast would be nice.\n\nThe only thing except for breakfast, the hot tub was not hot.
Area of location.\n\nN/A\n\nMarriott is a good hotel with your pricing.
We really liked this hotel. The standout was the staff. They were always friendly and extremely helpful. We had no complaints. It was a bonus that it's only 4 miles from the airport.
The room was comfortable.\n\nMy card was charged for incidentals. I have been trying for over a week to get my money returned. Every time I call I get a different "story".
Excellent staff and accommodations\n\nAbsolutely not\n\nGreat location
I always hold my breathe with the bidding process and pray I get the courtyard when visiting the Yorktown area. Great location from I-64, shops , grocery , dinning options. I enjoy the lounge always great guest to meet .\n\nNo\n\nThe staff from guest services ( front desk) to housekeeping are very helpful and accommodating, friendly ,the shuttle driver was fun and very nice. The grounds are...
The friendly and helpful staff stood out. Despite being Priceline guests, we were treated with the same courtesy shown to others. The staff obligingly gave us a room with two beds rather than a king. Rooms and public areas were clean and well tended.\n\nMy bed was not terribly comfortable, but it was by no means bad.
The staff was excellent; helpful & very friendly.\n\nFor a king room, it was quite small & the mattress was uncomfortable.\n\nGreat staff, small room, good location
The hotel was actually close to many attractions and easily accessible from the highway. The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful with any questions I had.\n\nThe bed left something to be desired, it was not horrible but it could have been better for a 3 star hotel.
Clean and quiet.\n\nno\n\nnice courteous staff. Nice room clean and quiet.
it was conveneiently located\n\nmaid tried opening door before wake up call\n\nnice and clean, reasonably priced, staff was friendly
Price, location, helpful staff.\n\nJust there for one night, but overall, very good for the money. VERY knowledgeable staff.
The staff\n\nThe in room AC/heater was loud. Almost sounded like a bearing was going bad in the blower
Good location, clean and friendly\n\nAll was very good.\n\nExcellent choice. Breakfast was a plus!
Amenities.\n\nNo continental breakfast. No premium channels.
The location\n\nOne minor complaint, the bathroom door had a very bad squeak. I forgot to mention this before I left so they could oil it; Very minor complaint but I kept waking my husband as I ran back and forth to the bathroom getting ready to go out! :0)\n\nEnjoyed the hotel and the staff was very nice and helpful! This was our second stay here and were pleased each time.
Great location and very nice for the price. It has a refridgerator and microwave in the rooms.\n\nNot really. It perfectly met my needs.\n\nThis is very nice and what I have come to expect from Courtyard.
The staff. They made me feel right at home, always greeted with a smile and very polite, even the night reception was excellent.\n\nNo
Nice clean room, Great Price through Priceline.\n\nNice clean Hotel.
The staff at the hotel are very kind and helpful. I recommended putting a clock in the pool area. I will stay there next week and hope to see this done. I was in room 129. I rise at 5 AM every morning. If I had not, the noise from the work area may very well have awoken me.
The rooms are very spacious and have modern, up-to-date furniture and televisions.\n\nThe room service / restaurant menu is very limited.
Room was very nicely designed and clean, and bed was comfortable.\n\nMandatory incidental charge upon arrival, staff attitudes, being woken up by housekeeping to "check on vacancy," having room next to kitchen and woken also by loud voices and banging from there.\n\nIt was an ok experience, but not what I'd expect for the star level. There was a mandatory incidental charge charged upon arrival....
clean room ,and the staff\n\nyes . no free breakfast\n\nthis was a great stay
Clean, modern, inviting, good spaces for waiting for guests, coffee, drinks.\n\nThat I couldn't get a room with 2 queen-sized beds, but that is a Priceline thing (I didn't call soon enough to request bed preferences and the hotel was sold out when I checked in).\n\nA clean, modern, inviting hotel that is well-situated to major roads around the Newport News/Yorktown area. It was ideally placed...
my husband found a used hair tie on the floor of the bathroom and brown hair on the bathtub drainage which made my husband disgusted
clean . food was great. the people was nice\n\ni wish have more time to say\n\nit was very nice.
Cleanliness, friendly staff, great bed\n\nNo it was great!\n\nThis was a last minute hotel for us and Priceline had a great price for it. We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel. Its location was perfect. You could walk to everything (restaurants, shopping, etc). The bed was extremely comfortable and my kids enjoyed the pool area a lot (it rained every day we were there). The...
Conveniently located to where were going.\n\nn/a\n\nWe've stayed several times before and always had a great experience. Staff is friendly and helpful, always takes care of any need as soon as possible. Hotel is clean and quiet. Will definitely stay here again.
Clean hotel\n\nWould have liked to have access to free coffee in the lobby as opposed to buying coffee
Cleanliness, size of room, ac system easy to use\n\nI was delayed at checkout-no staff at front desk. Dierctions to hotel provided by website were confusing\n\nI would recommend the hotel for its comforts, but I was not entirely happy with the staff or the directions provided by the website.
Upon arrival around 4:15pm, there was no one at the front desk. I waited a few minutes and heard giggles so I went around towards the back and shouted out a...
best customer service that I have received at a hotel. minus the mishap with a stain on my comforter I was pleased with the hotel. They were so apologetic.
everything was excellent\n\nit's in a bit of a strange place, set back off the road in a office park scenario
This hotel is 15 minutes from Busch Gardens and 1hour from the Outer Banks!\n\nThey said they had free breakfast but we never found it.\n\nGreat room, the sink was outside the bathroom, meaning one person could shower or whatever, while one person brushes teeth, puts on makeup or makes coffee:) Pro: fridge, microwave, coffee pot, clean soft comfy bed, marble countertops and sitting area. Con:...
The staff on arrival and the next night were awesome. One night the lady was rude. Bruce, the guy that cleans up around the lobby, is polite and an extremely hard worker. I told him so....\n\nNo, it was perfect.\n\nI did not get the 3.5 stars upon arrival. Until I started traveling around the next few days. This hotel has a wonderful location very close to the main highway. The staff was...
The staff was unbeatable ... friendly, informative and fun.\n\nNo.\n\nVery nice property but the staff was the best part of the whole deal ... as well as the Priceline deal, of course.
Very easy to find, central location, restaurants nearby.
Great place to stay in Newport news. Friendly staff. Live staying here!\n\nNothing ... all good
The location of the hotel was excellent.\n\nThe hotel did not offer a complementary breakfast.
Very helpful staff! Room was great size and very comfortable.
Room was much smaller than photos made it seem. It was cramped with two people and luggage. Front desk seemed confused about reservation and asked us to pay for room upon check-in even though we had paid already.Fortunately, we had our Priceline receipt.
Great location. They have always accommodated my request for a ground floor room.\n\nGood price, located near shopping, clean.
Awesome staff!\n\nLocation is great if you like fast food and shopping malls.
I love this hotel and the location. I stay here everytime I'm in the area and that's often. Staff and amenities are top notch!
Came into town for my nephews funeral and reserved a room online.Cozy, clean, and my son loved the pool. For the price there should be a breakfast included. Excellent stay.
What made the visit was the exceptionally friendly and helpful staff!
Great location with restaurants within walking distance. The staff was exectional!
Stayed in a double queen bedroom with one adult with three kids. The room was very comfortable and all the basic amenities were there. It was a great location for doing all the historical areas and sightseeing around Newport News etc.
Everything was professional in every way. Marriott Courtyard will be our 1st choice the next time we return to the area. The staff was great and the rooms well maintained. The pool and spa were clean and accessible. Check In/Out was non eventful and went extremely smooth. The quality of the food service was excellent coupled with the buffet breakfast which was reasonably priced. Access to the...
The hotel is conveniently located allowing us to go to Busch Gardens, historical sites in Williamsburg, and enjoy the local beaches. The staff were super friendly and nice, and the rooms were sufficiently large and comfortable. There was a laundry facility down the hall as well as free coffee, tea, and iced water always available. Finally the price was right, allowing us to grab a $79 per...
Clean and everyone was very friendly
Friendly staff clean no problems
We weren't taking a trip since we live in this area but just wanted a night to ourselves away from our 3 small children. The jacuzzi was a nice touch to our room and the breakfast the following morning was superb. All the staff that we dealt with were very nice and personable. We were greeted everytime we walked through the front doors. I just wish the computers there were able to pull up my...
Very comparable to other Courtyard hotels. Nice, clean, good location. No complaints.
The hotel is located in the middle of a commercial site with lots of restaurants and basic shopping but there is nothing extraordinary about it. Yorktown is a historic town but to get that feeling, you will have to drive 15 to 20 minutes somewhere else. We did not use the pool but it looked cool.
The experience was not at all good.1. The coffee maker was not clean.2. The hair dryer had lot of hairs stuck in it. Very bad site when we checked in3. The breakfast was timings were 7-11am. But around 10am the staff did not even bother to replenish the empty buffet pans. We had to just eat some cereals etc.4. Only wired internet works. If you come with your PDA, forget getting connected to...
The property, while adequate to our needs, was not up to the standard that I expect in Marriott's Courtyard chain.
We had the nicest time when our team went here for a nearby softball tournament. They had a good breakfast that you got a coupon for when yo...
In ShortThe first Marriott hotel opened in 1957, and has since expanded to several different brands, with Courtyard serving business travelers. In addition to free daily newspaper delivery, media-equipped meeting rooms and buffet breakfasts in their on-site restaurant, most locations also offer The Market--a 24-hour shop for food and refreshments. Rooms include well-lit work spaces, ergonomic desk chairs, separate sitting areas and free high-speed Internet (participating locations). The front desk offers faxing, copying and printing services.
I love staying at the Courtyard by Marriot chain, and this location is one of the better I have found. Very clean, good dining area, and the staff is exceptional.
This hotel is quite convenient and business friendly for people conducting business at NASA Langley or other government agencies located on the Langley government campus.
