Try this place out. It will not disappoint. What a pleasant surprise to "Come Home" to. A great addition to the Richmond scene!

My sister, my daughter and I decided to visit Carena's for Sunday lunch. The restaurant has a nice ambiances, colorful artwork, reggae music following throughout. When we arrived the restaurant was busy with the usual sunday church goers. We didnt have to wait for a table and the hostess got our drink orders right away. There was only one waitress...

The food is what it is; GREAT!!!!!
MR. Wiggins.

Temporary Closure.

The food was okay. I ordered the soup of the day and it was luke warm. I also ordered the curry goat which was good. The service was poor. Friendly enough staff but very very slow. Overall it was fine but they should work on the wait staff. But I'd blame the management more than the staff.

Oasis on Midlo. Lunched there yesterday. arrived very hungry. got a warm welcoming from the staff as soon as i entered. i eat vegetarian, with the occasional seafood dish, and had plenty of choices on the menu. we started with conch fritters, and devoured em. ordered the vegetarian pannini and it was terrific. the sides of HOME MADE potato chips and sweet slaw were delicious. service was...

Yelp

Now, as I understand it, the woman that owns Jamaica House also owns Carena's, and that leaves me with some blaring questions. Considering how good the food is at Jamaica House, I thought that the…

Yelp

The food at Carena's is delciious! I especially enjoy the fantastic, authentic soups which are not to be missed. I have had several of the soups but I really enjoy the chicken soup the best. I…

Yelp

Locating really good jerk chicken in the DC/VA area is a not easy and if you know a place that slipped under my radar than please massage me and tell me the details. I might possibly make a list on it…

Ox tail. Absolutely loved it. Passed it by a million times and never thought of eating here. Finally decided to and would definitely come again. Ordered the Conch fritters, absolutely great. The ox tail was awesome also. They could probably use another waitress. Really good crowd. Too bad I was too full and didn't get a chance to eat a beef patty. I guess I can order it to go this weekend.

Wonderful. Went there with a lunch group and we were all very happy with our meals. The Jerk Chicken was so good...I'll definately be back. I will say it was a little slow but there was only one waitress helping the whole restaurant...she did pretty good considering they were pretty busy. Here's a tip...go to thier website and sign on for updates. Each monday I get coupons and it makes it much...

Yelp

Carena's has an great collection of unique food, decent service, and an okay atmosphere. Painted an eyecatching pinkish orange, the building is a former cookie cutter chain (Fridays maybe?), that has…

This is a wonderful resturant. The food and service are both excellent. The island decor and music creates a very soothing atmosphere that compliments the jamaican cusine. I have taken many friends and coworkers there and they all have enjoyed it. I highly recommend it.

I was very disappointed in Carena's.
The waitress was very friendly but could not explain, with any detail, how dishes were prepared. The food that we did order was not very good.
The appetizer, Jerk Chicken Wings, were still bloody when delivered and had to be re-cooked. The taste was OK but nothing special.
The Island Fried Chicken was a small portion of bland fried chicken, presented with a...
