It was okay but not special. It was notable as a place the local Republican Party met. I understand it is now closed permanently but I have not confirmed that. It is definitely closed at this time and has been for a couple of weeks.

Overpriced, messy, understaffed, disappointing

Went for ice cream. No one attending area. Had to get waitress to scoop ice cream then follow her into dining area to pay. Ice cream area leaves little room to stand in line. There was a sticky ice cream mess on the floor that had been there for awhile. Ice cream wasn't even that good. It was also pricey....

I've been to Cagney's quite a few times as it's close to my house.
The service is usually very good with polite, attentive servers, but the food is not great.

Waste of space

I've visited this place for the ice cream bar only. This particular day I wanted to try the food. The food tasted like it was from the freezer. The chicken was dry and the corn was not seasoned. I will never be back

Loved the trains around the ceiling and the down-home breakfast. REally nice prices for the senior meals, too. Love the ice cream parlor on the side and the friendly wait staff. Only biscuits were a bit doughy and gravy gummy but all else fine.

I haven't been here in years, living in IL, but I remember we liked it so much (Peking lo mein) we went back 3 nights in a row for dinner. So good. I haven't found anything comparable. I will go back to VA one day & take the family.

My wife and I returned to Cagney's just over 1 year after our first visit. It was a completely different experience.
Waitstaff was again excellent. This time, the food was as well.
The menu has beeen rearranged to make it more logical.
All food was served well prepared and in a timely manner.
It was worth the return trip

My son and I went there the other day. They had hear food and great friendly service. Great atmosphere. We had a good time. Plus their Health inspection is good. That's always a plus for me.

Positives: Server was friendly and attentive. Atmosphere was good.
Negatives: Food was disgusting. Kids hot dog resembled a dried up dog treat. Bacon on BLT was undercooked and nothing but fat. Kids PB&J was bad. Tasted rotten. Fries had a bucket of salt on them. And comp. cornbread rolls were dry. Also, Nachos were similar to movie theater.
