Very poor experience. The room I booked and the description I received while booking was it was non-ocean view. It turned out to be across the road in the parking lot. I called several times to secure an early check-in. There were still no rooms available when we arrived early at the hotel, but only had to wait an hour or so before a room was cleaned for us. It was wonderful. They allowed us to check in early (7 HOURS early), let us keep our car in the parking lot the next day and change in their restroom. The onsite restuarant was wonderful. The food was fabulous. The location was perfect. The room was clean, cool and had all the amenities you could need.
It was a horrible experience. This hotel's separate building with a NON-OCEAN VIEW is an OLD MOTEL that Best Western must have purchased and use as part of their hotel. The motel (rooms in a separate building) were across the street for the real hotel attached to a parking garage. They were dirty, scary, and stunk like mildew. And there were buses below th room reving their enginines at 4:00am....
It was very clean for ocean front. I watched guest come into the hotel with sand all over the bogie boards and beach chairs. It made me wonder how they kept the rooms so clean. this was great didn't have a lot of time but it was a hectic couple of days and getting up and watching the sun rise from the balcony was great. throw in the walks on the beach early in the morning before the crowds and it was great.
We absolutely loved this hotel! It had an awesome heated indoor pool and an outdoor pool! We had very quick access to the beach. VERY VERY CLEAN ROOM! The maid even called us before we left to tell us she enjoyed cleaning our room and hoped we had a great stay! EXCELLENT HOTEL! Will stay here again!
after a 8 hour drive was able to check in 3 hours early, choice of floors for our room, staff was helpful and friendly, beautiful ocean view. can hear the ocean at night with the patio door open, private balcony, fantastic. The Hotel was a pleasant surprise. It was the best price I could find Beach or non beach. They gave me a room on with a water view. It was clean and quiet. There were lots of little problems. No Soap, no Kleenex, but if I got a favorable price from them I certainly would stay there on my next trip

This is a great beachfront location with very easy access to the beach. The indoor pool was nice too. Staff was friendly and helpful but we had consistant problems with our keys not opening the door even after we got new ones. There were also plenty of towels which is nice in a beachfront hotel. The view was gereat and they gave us a choice of floors.
The hotel was in a perfect location and the oceanfront balcony was wonderful! The room was in the "older" section of the hotel, but it was perfect for us...we didn't seem to notice. *grin*

Attended business convention during the day but was able to run out to the beach in the evenings, walk the boardwalk and be back in the room without having to travel back to the hotel. Shopping was on the front side of the hotel. Very convenient.

The room pretty much was as advertised- nothing fancy, but it was clean and relatively quiet (though my section of the hotel was pretty empty while I was there). Enjoyed the outdoor concerts in the evenings; upon check in desk personnel did not go out of their way to explain attractions, features, areas of the hotel to see, or restaurant info. Room was clean, however it was VERY noisy at night. I even complained to the front desk, several times, however, the noise didn't stop til around 2am. It was just "ok" place to stay.
The hotel experience was a great one. I was a little leary about booking this hotel, but from check in to check out my experience was a great one. The staff was very friendly and made sure our every need was met. The location was great, looking out the balcony window and admiring the great oceanfront view. Lots to see and do in Va Beach and I did almost everything that I wanted to do.

The hotel and the pool was very nice. My Family really enjoyed the stay. The only things was that there was nothing for my daughter to watch on the tv, and the tv was so old that i could not connect he dvd player.

We have stayed at this hotel several times in the past when it was called the Colonial Inn. We love watching the dolphin playing in the ocean in the mornings when we look out on our balcony. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is located within walking distance of a lot of shops and eating places. We will stay there again when we return to Virginia Beach.

We had a very enjoyable 2-day off-season sightseeing vacation: walking the beach, climbing the lighthouse, touring the Chrysler Art Museum. We would stay there again. The motel is not the newest, but friendly staff and good restaurant made up for it.
I found my room sufficiently clean and spacious. It was a good location for the event I was attending and I would not hesitate to stay there again.
The stay was okay. TV didn't work that well, no microwave. Room was small but for the price OK we just needed a place to put our head at night. It seemed clean enough. we were staying 5 nights and after the 4th discovered that we weren't the only ones in our bed. BED BUGS!!!!!! i traveled with my boyfreind to this location, we had great time.
Vacation was nice despite the rain. They advertised pay per view in the guest book and online, but they had been dropped by the cable company. I had to call the front desk at 11pm to ask about all the missing channels. Housekeeping started work early and the noise in the hall carried like we were in a college dorm.
The non-ocean front rooms are in a different building away from the main hotel. The hotel website didn't mention that at all. The rooms were worse than a cheap motel. We paid $80/night for the room, which wasn't even worth $40 / night. The hotel staff were rude and not helpful. We wished we had never stayed here or had paid not more than $40/night

Room was semi-renovated, but very clean. Balcony overlooking the water added a wonderful bit of romance to our trip. Got up to watch the sun rise each morning and listen to the waves. Very relaxing and we would definately stay there again.
