The Beech Tree Inn is the place where you want to check in, spend a couple nights and relax in the country.
Upon arrival, I was greeted by Mr. and Mrs. Hobbs (Owners).
Mrs. Hobbs (wants you to call her Jackie), gave me a tour of the houses and informed me of the history of the Civil War houses they...

A lot of dog hair on the floor. Dried puke on the rug and loose change. In bare feet, floor feels very VERY dusty. Dead bug carcasses under the bed. Cottage is lovingly restored but needs a thorough cleaning badly. Microwave interior... eww, coffeepot... ick. Giant Sam's club tin of cheapass coffee that is lumpy with age. Old dry chunks...

We stayed in Flat Branch Cottage over Memorial Day weekend with our 2 dogs. We visited Edenton one day and Merchants Mill Pond one day. So appreciated having a pet friendly place to stay since we had decided on fairly short notice to take the trip and there was not place available on such short notice to board the pups....

The owners have restored a collection of pre-civil war era buildings that they moved to the site. You stay in them. They are beautifully decorated with great respect for the historical details of the original. Tour the garden, meet the chickens, or take a daytrip to the Great Dismal Swamp or Merchant's Millpond SP. They offer woodworking camps, and we...

I stay here recently when I needed an overnight that was near the base I was working at. It was a wonderful stay. Nice room (actually a small civil war era house but it was about 900 sf), very quiet, comfortable bed, nice shower and kitchenette. I will definitely be staying hear when I go back and hope I get...

My daughters and I spent Memorial Day weekend at the inn. It was idyllic, especially for two young children. The host showed us around her vegetable gardens, let us feed her chickens and gather eggs and took us inside the many Civil War-era buildings on the property. Our cabin was adorable, and for a small extra charge we were allowed...

Charm, privacy, chickens, fresh eggs, history and realxation...all in one place. Each house is seperate so lots of privacy. The Hobbs are wonderful hosts, gracious and wonderful breakfasts. Very accommodating. The restaurant on site is fabulous. Edenton is only about 10 minutes drive but Beechtree Inn and Beautiful Moon Cafe are fabulous.

We are glad we found this quaint B&B off the beaten path. The Hobbs' collect buildings and their collection is outstanding! We stayed in the Flat Branch house, a restored 1700's dependency building. Ben Hobbs makes outstanding furniture and his pieces are showcased in the cottages. Mrs. Hobbs is an excellent cook and her conversation was very interesting. We enjoyed...

My husband and I highly recommend this B&B. The details in the refurbishing of the original historic homes that you stay in is absolutely wonderful. This was the first time my husband had ever stayed in a B&B and he was so happy with my choice that he ran to the local store and brought me back roses! The comfort...

We loved everything about our stay at the Inn. We were looking for a relaxing weekend away- we go it !! The food and service at the restaurant was incredible. Mr. & Mrs. Hobbs were very hospitable. Every thing was clean, and so comfortable. We recommend to any one who just wants to get away!!

I loved the stay. Separate housing leads to a more relaxed stay for me. A delicious breakfast was served in the adjacent house and I also enjoyed the dining in the restaurant. Meals include local grown fruits and vegetables.

Some friends of mine stayed here when I got married and really enjoyed it. The Hobbs' have moved several old houses here and refurbished them. They also make their own furniture and hold furniture building workshops throughout the year. Since each guest gets their own cottage, the place is more kid friendly than your average b and b.
