this is a great place to go when the weather is bad. you can eat and DRINK while you and the kids watch a movie. we took a cab so that my girlfriend and i could drink. we both fell asleep while the kids watched the movie. :O)
We recently did dinner and a movie here and it was fun! It's much more reasonable to buy dinner at a theater rather than an overpriced bucket of popcorn. I wish they used real cups instead of disposables since it's so wasteful. The staff was attentive and got our order taken quickly. We'll certainly be back.

Wonderful service. If you arrive before the previews--you get to place your order for your food--from popcorn to dinner--with a worker from the theater. I'm not a huge fan of eat-in theaters because I like to see my food. That said, for those who enjoy it, it seemed to be a clean, well run establishment. They show up to date movies and are very close to the beach for vacationers. I didn't have anything to eat, so I can't comment on the food.

Beach Movie Bistro has some of the best staff of any dining facility in Hampton Roads. On top of that, the in-theater dining is pulled off so much more efficiently than those other guys. Killing two birds with one stone has never been easier than with BMB!
Don't bother. I had the bbq fries at 7 and then spent the whole night with them. A fun idea, turned into a nightmare. Even the burger and fries are mediocre. Just because we're watching a movie while we eat does not mean we'll be distracted enough to ignore poor quality food.

The food is great! Prices are clearly going to be more than cinema cafe but that's because the quality you're getting is much better. I do agree with some of the service comments, don't expect it to be great at a new and crowded showing.
