It was a nice stay, but there was definitely someone smoking in an adjacent room while these rooms were clearly marked non smoking. The smell was even noticeable in our room with the door closed.

Rooms not very sound proof. Could hear shower running from adjoining rooms. Guests upstairs came in at 3:30 AM sounded like they were in our room. Room was clean and location great. Breakfast very good.

Everything was A-OK with exception of mold in the bathroom. The mold was on tub wall, bathroom wall, and in corner on floor.

The only complaint I would have is that the walls are a little thin and can easily hear others. The hotel is in nice shape, nearby to restaurants. Good daily breakfast.

We had a wonderful stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Kitty Hawk! The staff is so friendly and we were very impressed by the cleanlines of our room! Also they had a great breakfast with lots of choices & a convenient path right to the beach, not to mention that the hotel is walking distance to three really great restaurants. We will stay here again!
The property is very old and in desperate need of upgrades. Frankly it was the worst Holiday Inn I have ever stayed at. Not trying to beat them up but the ceilings were flaking, bathrooms were falling apart, just not a comfortable place to stay.
Great place for the price and location
Stay was great, breakfast spread was wonderful (I only used it twice in my week long stay). Included parking is a major plus. Housekeeping is wonderful and thorough, but comes in a bit too early. Hotel location is ideal for access to major attractions. Beach access located in the back of the hotel requires you to cross a road. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.

Arrived on a Friday night after working all day, guests were loud and rude. Couldn't sleep because of all the noise from guests, loud talking, laughing & doors slamming. Holiday Inn Express Kitty Hawk is an excellent location with beach access…however, the hotel is very much in need of a good overhaul. Rooms are musty and have damp carpeting and an unplesant odor. Bathrooms need to be re-caulked as the showers are moldy. On the up side, staff very friendly.

The hotel is within walking distance of the beach, but is not on it. Also, even on a holiday weekend, $300 a day is too expensive considering the age and cleanliness of the hotel. Fine hotel for decent price on outer banks. Clean rooms. Walls were not too thin. I could hear some neighbors turning shower on, but couldn't hear anything else.

Flew down from Boston for a weekend reunion. The hotel was clean and very quiet, staff friendly and helpful and the breakfast was included. Would recommend for weekends or longer stay.
Everything was awesome. Breakfast can get crowded but everyone was offering tables as they left. Staff was top notch. We have two little ones that were so welcomed and the staff enjoyed their company as much as we did. We are coming back next year 100%

We arrived at 10pm to find the air conditioner had been left running on cold & high I guess for hours. The room was freezing. We cracked the window to let the warm air in and condensation formed on every surface in the room there was so much difference in temperature. Breakfast was okay and well stocked in the morning. I reserved a standard room (Queen Bed) and was given a room with two doubles. Then, when I asked to have a late check-out, I was told I could buy into their membership and get that as a benefit. Not very friendly, but the place and room were clean.

Just looking for a quiet pre-season weekend by myself (and with my bike). Weather was cooperative, front desk staff were pleasant and helpful. I was steered to the 2nd floor because of the risk of noise from a higher floor transmitting to my room, but I opted for a ground (1st) floor room. As it was there was some noise from the room above me, although it didn't bother me (this time).
