Though many restaurants are within walking distance of my office, my coworkers and I usually choose to go to Mai Thai when we are in the mood for Thai food. The service and food quality have always been excellent and their space is large enough to handle a lunch crowd without making you feel "crowded" - whether you like dining inside or - weather permitting - outside.
Mai Thai, oh Mai Thai. It's that quintessential Georgetown student spot for a bit of Asian flavour. A great ambiance with patio and indoor dining options It's almost like a love-hate sort of thing. Appetizers are a bit pricey.
Good Thai food and sushi. Had the larb gai, dynamite roll, and spider roll--all were tasty.
Given the proximity to my office, Mai Thai is a regular go-to. On this particular day, however, they were particularly understaffed and it took 15 minutes just to get our water. Thankfully, the food was up to the usual high standards.
The menu is extensive and has some really nice options and the staff are very friendly. Overall a very nice experience!
Solid Thai restaurant with nice outdoor seating in Georgetown area. A bit on the expensive side, as are many places in Georgetown.

I went with friends for happy hour. The food and drinks were cheap and of great quality! Recommended!
After eating for a while and tasting something not quite right I finally got an overly strong cigarette odor in my mouth. Then... I saw pieces of cigarette and ashes in my drunken noodles... spent an hour in the bathroom the next day.

We did take-out, the Pad Thai - Chicken (sp?) was too dry
The food was tasty and so were the drinks. The atmosphere was calm and lovely.
The food was really good! We had a big group for a birthday, and they were very helpful!
For the price of take-out at your local cat mortuary, you can get some tasty, high-end fare here.
Took my mom to lunch. She had flamed spinach. I had extra spicy, vegan drunken noodles. Both were awesome.
I will definitely be back.

Cashew nut Chicken was greasy as was the appetizer - service was good, but the taste and food were a deal breaker - website claims they have a happy hour but not the case at the restaurant - rather unlikely to return when there are other good Thai options around.

This is my usual go-to for "take-out/order-in" but this past order was pretty bad. I ordered 3 sushi rolls, one of which was a "specialty roll"- the Dynamite Roll- which came to me completely ruined. We ate outside, which was wonderful in nice weather, but made service more difficult as the waitstaff rarely came to our area. The food was excellent. A little pricey for Thai food generally, but not for restaurants in Georgetown.
As always the food is very good. The restaurant is in a busy area and friday and saturday nights can be difficult to get a table. Always good to book ahead. The staff still will try to accommodate you. Food is always good and that is always the best best reason to go here.
One of my fav spots in g-town. The food is always delicious and plentiful. I always end up with one or two meals worth of leftovers. Very cost-effective!

Mai Thai is my go-to restaurant for lunch and dinner in the Georgetown neighborhood. The food is consistently good, and staff consistently friendly!

I love the food here! There are so many delicious options that I am always tempted to over-order just so I have extra to take home with me. The ingredients are fresh, and the portions are very large as well. This is my go-to Thai place on the west side of DC--I recommend it to all of my friends and take out of town guests here.
I've ordered a lot of Thai take-out and Mai Thai Georgetown is by far the best! I have had a few issues with my order (receiving the wrong items, taking two hours to deliver) but the issues were all worked out in the end. Their sushi is delicious and fresh. Their Thai food is excellent.

Good Thai food and close to my house.
the papaya salad was delicious! we went during happy hour so they had drinks for as low as 3 dollars. Also the food portions are really big so it's great to share family style. would definitely visit again
The drunken noodles were absolutely delicious. I asked for them to be the spiciest possible and indeed they were! Very satisfied that the chef listened.

So many delicious items to choose from! I love the green curry, just a little spicy (wouldn't mind if it was a little hotter) and the veggies are fresh. The drunken noodles are fantastic as well, and the portion is very large!

The pad thai was delicious and the portion size was excellent.
the only issue was the lack of spice. I asked for it to be extra spicy and there was no real kick to it.
The food was fine; however, my biggest complaint was the delivery man. He shows up late after telling me he was at my building and then asks for his tip before giving me my food. That was extremely rude and the delivery men should be more courteous if they want a tip.

My sushi was not that great. One of my rolls tasted fishy. Another roll, the spider roll, which typically consists of the claw/leg of the soft shell leg had the innards in it, guts etc.

Bangkok Bistro is one of my favorite places in Georgetown - great food, student-budget-friendly prices, and excellent service. Plating and dish presentation is sophisticated - try the trout or the mussels. Inside, the ambiance is low-key and relaxing with colorful, modern decor; and the sidewalk cafe is great for enjoying a nice day. Customers can dress up or dress down.

The food was fine, as usual, but the delivery left a lot to be desired of. When I order in from a restaurant it's because I don't want to go out. I'm willing to pay the delivery fee and the tip in exchange for the food being brought to my home.
When I last ordered from Mai Thai, I got a call from the driver that he was waiting on the street and that I had to leave my building to get my food....

Don't order the seafood fried rice. If you do, please tell them to omit the squid or whatever the hell the white rubber tire pieces were in the rice. The rice was delicious but I almost choked on that squid. It is inedible.

After 5 years in the city I think I finally found my favorite bar. George is a great place to meet friends for an early drink, listen to good music all the way to the end of the night when you find yourself murdering the Dance floor with some beautiful babe. The bartenders were great and always remembered my tab the whole night. Back Bar Biggers poured me the best shot of Jamo I have ever had!
