Help us make it rightDon't waste your time. Find another company. Very unprofessional, no calls returned after four voicemails, no updates provided after first visit. Ryan, the owner, would not make eye contact during our discussion. If this company was assigned to you by AHS, call back, ask for their escalation team and ask to be reassigned. Reviews of this company are similar on facebook, google and many other sources. One can only assume their positive Google rating is inflated by artificial reviews. Run, there is no negative star rating.
I have a condo that I rent. My tenant noticed some water pooling near the air handler. My property manager put in a call to American Home Shield, who called out Arctic Heating and Cooling. They were not ready for the job when they arrived (asked my tenants for a bucket to do the work). During the work they cracked the bi-fold door (no response to e-mail sent after a preliminary phone call), which I repaired as it was less than replacing (because I try to be reasonable, not that Arctic Heating and Cooling makes a good case for such efforts). At the end of the repair Arctic Heating and Cooling was way outside the box of the home warranty, as they asked my tenant's teenagers for $50. They called their mother, who said she didn't have it at home. The repairman said not to worry about it. American Home Shield (AMS) said they had no call back from Arctic Heating and Cooling and that when their are additional fees not covered by a warranty call, it is procedure to call AMS first. Arctic Heating and Cooling made no such call, but they filed the appropriate paperwork to show call out and completed repair. In summary, unprepared, destructive, opportunistic (at your cost) and non-responsive (after 7 business days, 11 calendar days).
Technician came to troubleshoot my bad AC, told me I needed a new zoning system. Had he taken the time to actually look at my system he would have found a piece of insulation blocking airflow to the evaporator. $75 service charge for bogus inspection and no work performed. Company refused to refund my money. Horrible customer service too... won't return calls.
First American Home Warranty insists on sending their service requests to Arctic Air and their technicians not only are incompetent to make appropriate repairs, the last one actually broke the ignition switch on my boiler, reported to the warranty company that a part was broken so now the warranty company is denying coverage because of a broken part...the part that was broken by Arctic Air. Unbelievable!!!!
Hands down the best service ever!!! As a long time customer of American Home Shield, Arctic Heating and Cooling provided us with the best service we have ever had. Technicians were dressed in uniform and provided Identification immediatly. The system was repaired the same day and the tech even left our home to go get a part instead of rescheduling for another day or saying they needed to "ORDER" parts like all other companies done in the past. The owner even called to ask if we were completely satisfied!!! Awesome Awesome Awesome guys!!!
unfortunately, my home warranty company is contracted with this Jon doe AC place,meaning there are too many people unprofessionally trying to run an AC business,in Hampton roads. My AC was leaking, they sent a tech out, he claimed he fixed it, still leaking. Then a second tech, different guy, and he claimed to have solved the issue. Not solved. Still leaking and now ceiling needs,replaced :-(
Can anyone tell me what kind of boss has his techs driving around vans without ladders? Lol what a joke. They come to you asking for a ladder and you are the moron if you do not have one. Such a shame.
I understand people want to own their own business,and feel important by doing so..but if you do not have a clue as to how to run one efficiently, meaning all tools, brains and funds required to be successful and of good service to your,shareholders(clients) then please...RETHINK your Career plans. I hope others who have AC issues do a little research before choosing a company. I learned my lesson :-( I have a ceiling to go repair now. Ciaos.
I was without heat for 2 weeks! I too had the misfortune of having to deal with company because of my home warranty. I was not satisfied with how long it took them to initially access my hvac unit. On their website is says that they do emergency visits and this is NOT true. We sent our claim to the insurance company on Sunday morning and they did not even come until Tuesday. Did I mention that the temperature outside was in the 30's. If you don't consider this an emergency I don't know what is!
When I got called for pricing, I was told one thing but charged another. I do not consider this good service and I would not recommend this company to anyone because you will end up cold in the winter for weeks like me.
I have the misfortunate of having Arctic through my home warranty company. They have paid numerous visit attempting to repair my heating/AC unit. At one point a technician left the cap off of my AC unit and did not bleed the lines on his visit. I was charged a second visit for a repairperson to recharge the freon and bleed the lines.
It is next to impossible to get a return phone call or even a timely first phone call to set up an appointment.
I do not recommend this company for your heating/ac needs.
This just gets better and better by the minute...Today Arctic Heating & Cooling returned to blow out the blocked AC line. The first day the technician came he said the AC needed to be turned off...
If there were a 0 star rating then that would appropriate for this company. Their lack of customer support and skill is only found in companies that don't care about the work or the customer. Do NOT use this company. My home warranty sent them out to fix my heating system and they never came back to replace my compressor (like they said they would). I waited a week for their call back (thinking they were waiting on my part) but it turns out, they told First American that they weren't qualified to fix my unit so they weren't taking the job. They did not contact me and I waited two weeks with out heat. What a scam.

You guys saved the day! After struggling with a different company for 2 weeks through my home warranty program, you guys came out within 24 hours and had my AC fixed within an hour. Your service tech was extremely knowledgable and explained maintenance to me in layman's terms which I greatly appreciated. He pointed out what should have been differently by the other company and even took a lot at my filters and let me know when I should change them. Customer service through the office was excellent too. Thank you again, I will definitely be recommending you
