Editorial reviews from the web (1)

The odd name is rather appropriate—if you weren't hungry before entering this cozy place, you will be after the enticing smells reach you. A rich looking dining room outfitted with plush leather couches and stone walls makes you want to linger. Breakfast burritos and Belgian waffles are nice ways to start the day. Or end it with Southern caramelized barbecued shrimp over a mound of grits, and...

My parents and I came here after dropping brother off at Christopher Newport University. They both ordered the Portabella burger, my dad asked for scrambled eggs on his. The barista's were very...

Don't sleep on this place! So, the sister and I are out and about and she mentions this place. I will say the name almost deterred me but because of location and the fact that she'd been eyeing...

This place doesn't have quite the cozy feel of the Aromas in Williamsburg. It's still a cool place with good drinks and baked goods.

I visited Aromas 3 times in one day!! And, the day before, I went to the Williamsburg location. Can you tell I liked it?I love this place and love the music they play (both locations). This...

Breakfast platter seems all premade and just warmed up; bacon and eggs were extremely dried up. Espresso is pretty weak, more like a strong coffee. Not much choices around the neighborhood.

Best shrimp and grits I've had outside of South Carolina!!! My wife and I stop here regularly before catching a movie across the street. Love the food and coffee.

Stopped here for lunch. I have been here several times for a coffee and a baked good (mostly cookies), but i was pleasantly surprised to see the soup and salads they had for lunch! The salads were loaded with fresh vegetables and a generous portion. I had a roasted red pepper and brie soup which was …

Food was great, as was the drink selection (even for a non-coffee fan like me). I was particularly happy with the number of teas they had available, which is something I've found many cafe's lacking in. I came in to Aromas for breakfast one Sunday morning. At that time, there was hardly anyone else there. I …

One of my favorite spots. Very down to earth and very relaxing. Delicious coffee and teas with a wide selection. Great to just go and study or just bring a book and relax. Would recommend to any of my friends

Coffee. Went and just got a couple of coffees and hot chocolate. Also the chocolate fondue. Will be back again for coffee. Reasonable priced and tasted great. Better than a 5bucks (although I do frequent there as well)

Full Bodied Coffee Shop. This place was a great stop for a cup of joe and carrot cake. They had six different brews ready to go and their pasty/bakery selections were all across the spectrum! One of my favorite places to have coffee on the Peninsula now for sure. Enjoy the flair on the walls, and the large tea selections as well!

Tiny servings for lunch. I like their coffee and desserts and it's a cute place for a date. Don't go there hungry. I thought the lunch was overpriced for what I got.

Great hang out. Love the coffee here! Also love that it's a locally owned coffee shop. Great atmosphere and wonderful place to meet with friends or study. The food is okay, but the coffee is what you go here for.

Good place to grab a cup of hot coffee. I have eaten lunch here a few times, and enjoy their coffee. Indoor and outdoor seating, and on Wednesday nights' they have open mic night so you can enjoy some live music.

This is a fun place to catch up with an old friend and sit and chat over coffee. Their hot choclate is the best in the world, and the food is good too. Reasonable prices and a friendly staff.

I think April's review was exactly right! The food is absolutely delicious! And the atmosphere is pretty sweet! The service is good and food is prepared in a very reasonable amount of time for its quality. I would definitely reccomend the brie stuffed french toast and biscuits & gravy for breakfast. One of the great things about Aroma's is that breakfast is served until 12!! (and 2 on sundays).

Aromas is my favorite stop for coffee or tea, great breakfast, good sandwiches and tapas, friendly staff, and free wi-fi. Their location and hours are wonderful too. Be sure to order their brie stuffed french toast, shrimp and grits, club sandwich, house salad, and any of their wonderful cakes and pastries. They have soups and quiches and live entertainment also. Their food really is...
