Academy Veterinarian Hospital is great. When we had our guinea pigs they were so helpful. Now we take our dogs there. And the price is reasonable. They are excellent.
This use to be amazing place to take your animals. Not anymore I was turned away today with little to no help. Thank God I found another vet my dog is stitched up and is going to be fine. Also huge shout out to SPCA for there help. I know if Dr Jones was still there I would have never been turned away.

The best thing about Academy Vets is that they care about their customers, but even more, their customers pets.
They took care of my dog when they were about to close. I called them like 5 minutes before they were going to close. and they were able to take me in regardless of their schedule. They really went out of their way.\r
Dr. Jones has always been there for our animals, no matter what time of the day (or night). When he received a call from us at his home at 2am when our chihuahua was having seizures, he didn't even think twice before telling us to rush her to his office and he would meet us there. He saved her life. He has also had to put down several of our old cats (Biscuit was 25 years old, and had a really bad infection on her face, and Mr. Whiskers was 14 and had a large tumor on his face), and Dr. Jones and his staff very sympathetically helped us through letting both of our very special friends go....
I like that Dr. Jones is fast and that he takes his time depending on what we have going on with Strudel. Sometimes I don't need 45 minutes when 20 will do\r
The people who work there were very friendly, informative and had very much patience with my dog. They were very caring and attentive to my needs.\r

A very special thanks to Lisa for caring for junie B because Lisa knew her personality and knew what attention Junie B needed and cared for her before I arrived to pick her up. Lisa has a large, kind, loving, and compassionate heart and is very good at what she does and her calling is to be around animals.\r

I have been going to Dr. Jones at Academy Vet for awhile. You can tell right away that all of the employees really care about your pet. I have 3 dogs, and they all come here for everything. Coming here won't empty your wallet, either. Academy Vet Clinic does not charge an office fee when you are just coming in for routine vaccinations. You can get all of your dog's annual vaccinations, and a heartworm test, for under $100.00, which is almost unbelievable for the Richmond/Chesterfield/Petersburg area.\r

I have taken my pets to academy vet and once i had a newborn pup that was not doing well , it was stuck in birth canal i had to revive the pup and it was too weak to nurse the doctor re hydrated the pup and gave me instructions on tubing the pup if needed so it wouldn't aspirate on the milk but also told me to keep trying to get pup to suckle he was very informative and two years later the pup or shall I say dog is doing fine, its all due to the excellent care i got. They genuinely care about animals and the fees are reasonable.\r

Love this vet, much much cheaper than other vets. Got a quote to remove a cyst on my cat of $1200 from the vet on Ironbridge Road across from Walmart, I immediately went to Academy Vet for a 2nd opinion, They removed the cyst for $150.00, I was amazed at how much cheaper they were and will never go to another vet\r
I have been going to Dr. Jones for years....he was very reasonable....all my family and friends go to him...because he is a good vet and doesn't try to rip you off...but recently in the past several months...some one else has taken over and now the prices are just as bad as all the other veterinary clinic's around...not sure what I am going to do now...as I have 4 dogs and a cat....if anyone knows of another reasonable vet nearby...please let me know...Thanks\r
We have been going to Dr Jones for over 10 years now. My mother in law has been using him for over 20 years. He has saved our cats lives, that another vet said put him to sleep he is just a stray. He has performed surgeries, helped us out with a litter of pups dropped at our home. He has also been honest and upfront when it was time to let a dear friend pass. His walk in hours are convenient and his staff are awesome. Cant say enough good about him.\r
Highly recommended. He has saved my dogs from snake bites, set broken legs, done surgery to remove kidney stones, and compassionately done what needed to be done when nothing else could be done. They are MONSTERS!!! The put to sleep an "aggressive" puppy. Myself and one other person offered to take the puppy but those heartless monsters killed her anyway. My dog was growling and barking at the "aggressive"...
