We visited Abuelos on Sunday (9/15). I wanted Mexican, but I also wanted to watch the Redskins game. Venues like Green Turtle & Bar Louie were filled to capacity so we landed at Abuelos and I was pleasantly surprised. It was clean, calm atmosphere, and good energy around the bar.

This is some of the best Mexican food I have had in many years. The food is rustic, fresh with a wonderful taste. The servers were prompt, helpful and knowledgable on all items on the menu. The decor was subtle and did not distract from the dining experience.
On our next visit, we will eat in the patio area.
