This place is a small Fish Market with a Restaurant. The restaurant is informal, with about 5 tables and help-yourself style. Seems that the best option is having your food to go. Parking lot is...

This place is good when you eat it fresh right there in the restaurant or bring it to the hotel and eat it right away.It is run by Korean and the setting is a fish market and a few tables and...

If you're looking for fine dining look elsewhere. If you're looking for local fare from local folks this is your place. It is a fish market but once you get past the initial smell it is good fresh food at a very reasonable price. Very limited seating.

There was more dough than oyster in my fried oyster order. I paid over $30 for garbage. Horrible food.

Good Food. Good seafood. We had crab cakes, oysters, shrimp, and whiting. Everything was well above average. Not the best seafood I've ever had, but very good for a reasonable price. I wouldn't call this place a "dive" but we did not have cloth tablecloths or napkins. Nice family-run business.

I called the restaurant for a carry-out order of steamed crabs and was able to order them with Old Bay seasoning, as I am accustomed to having, being from Baltimore. I was surprised at the reasonable price and didn't expect much but they were ready on time, packed in double brown paper bags and were very hot - temperature-wise and...

This place is a fish market with a couple of tables. They seemed busy with take out orders while we visited. The seafood was fresh and the food was good. The prices were very reasonable. The parking is tight and is on the right side of the building, this place is close to Colonial Williamsburg.

My fried shrimp seemed to have been frozen and covered with a standard frozen shrimp batter. The fried oysters had way too much breading, which was all you could taste. The fried catfish was very good. Overall, average at best. The fries were nasty, the grease needs to be changed. Nice people, though.

I was in the Williamsburg area for a week on business, and was looking for a place to eat besides the 'usual chain' fare. Searched online and found 6 Crabs, along with several positive reviews, so I thought I would give them a try. First, parking is very limited and tight. Not a problem as there was no one else...

We were looking for real seafood options at a reasonable price while visiting Williamsburg, VA. After all, we are in a sea shore area! So we came across 6 Crabs, they seemed more known as a seafood market but serving meals as well. We thought we couldn't go wrong with a fresh seafood market for sure! The place is a...

We had read reviews on Urbanspoon and were happy to confirm that this is the kind of out of the way place to be discovered. We ordered 4 dinners to go when we got there. The calamari, fish, scallops, oysters were all very fresh. The shrimp were tender but I could not say they were absolutely fresh caught. We were...

ordered a couple shrimp baskets. shrimp was large and butterflied. tasted just fine. my sons devoured it. not sure how fresh it was though. the breading seemed a little like the shrimp came from a box. if I lived in the area i would take the time to experiment to see what fresh fish they really have and what is...

This place sure wouldn't draw you in from the looks of the outside of the building, but we'd seen a few reviews and decided to give it a try. Wide selection of seafood to choose from. I got the combo plate for about $13. All fried, and all delicious. My wife enjoyed her dinner too. About the comments on the...

Stopped by for soft shell crab. Knew not to expect much as far as atmosphere but expected better food. Soft shell crab were in a thick tempura batter, didn't care for. Tried a crab cake - mostly breading. Oysters same tempura and overcooked. Staff abrupt.

Food was great and the price was really reasonable. Wait staff was very friendly and the place was exceptionally clean

Hole in the wall fish shop at Williamsburg, Va. None of the fish looked too good. The fresh blue crabs were small but lively. I ordered the fried oysters. They were breaded with a Tempura batter and over cooked. Wife ordered crab cake. The crab cake was mainly filler, very little crab. All food was OK but no home run....

We selected this place as a "best kept secret" kind of restaurant. We were definitely disappointed. While the service was friendly, the food was nowhere close to the reviews on here. We are accustomed to Eastern NC/SC fried seafood and this didn't hold a candle.

We ordered the catfish dinner. It was good but not the very best fried catfish I've had. It was served hot and fresh out of the fryer. 6 Crabs is more of a take-out place rather than a restaurant. You order at the counter and most people were taking it with them to eat elsewhere. They do have drinks and...

I had the crabcake lunch which came as a sandwich (which I never eat the bread). The crabcake was very very yummy and the fries were great too. Obviously the locals love it and now we know why. Friendly staff. Crab cakes were some of the best I've had. I had never tried fried clams before now.....the verdict is good. I would highly recommend this little diamond in the rough.

My wife and I decided to try this place out after seeing the good reviews, we were greatly disappointed! I have never seen anyone fry oysters in tempura batter and the shrimp and oysters were not seasoned at all. Found the food to be fresh and delicious. The place is suited for carry out but there are a few small tables to eat in. I had a fried porgie meal. It came with fries and cole slaw. It was fried just right and not greasy. The crab cakes are really really good. The prices are just right. Th

We arrived a few minutes after 8 pm and the owner agreed to make us our selections even though they were closed. Are we glad he did!
My C2 combination of catfish, scallops, oysters, and shrimp was awesome and reminded me of NC Calabash fried seafood. Others in my party had the soft shelled crab, with 2 crabs, and fish sandwiches...

Fantastic food, atmosphere rustic. But you can't beat the price. Definitely will be back and recommend this to anyone! Just fresh, good seafood!

It was tough to vote against 6Crabs when so many others have voted in favor but ultimately it came down to whether I would come back or not and the answer was NO. I ate the 6Crabs Special which had crab cake, shrimp, scallops, oysters, and whiting. Other family members had crab sticks and catfish. First the positives - the portions were large, the whiting was very good. The crab cake was tasty...

Disappointing Crab Cakes

We ordered four crab cakes to take back to our hotel. These had little resemblance to true Maryland syle crab cakes Instead of lump crab meat, these were thin patties with mashed crab and filler. Included with our order were dry hush puppies and tasteless coleslaw. In fairness, the pricing was also lower than we would have expected for a...

We went here based on the reviews and am so glad we did! Great place for inexpensive fried seafood, huge portions, 12 fried shrimp with fries and hush puppies for $9.99.

Really Simple Seafood. No ambiance. Just good, fresh seafood at "dirt cheap" prices! Our $15 dinner would be $35 or more, anywhere else.

I was craving seafood but didn't want to visit one of the expensive old school establishments in the area, so we picked 6 Crabs and it satisfied. Frying scallops and oysters perfectly without overcooking them is a trick, but the chef here is a master of the art of frying. Perfectly crisp outside, perfectly cooked inside, served in heaps with...

We went here for dinner one night due to the raving reviews. The food was okay but I wasn't wow-ed by it. We decided to eat in, since there were tables, instead of taking it back to the hotel. The people working there were very sweet and the service was great.

After reading glowing reviews about this small, local seafood restaurant/market, I guess I was just expecting more than what I really received. I was expecting "delicious," but only received "okay" food. Here's my review of this place:
Just as I expected, the place is small and very plain, which was fine with me. There were four small round tables, a...

6 Crabs is a neighborhood take-out place frequented by locals. It is the proverbial hole-in-the-wall with only four small tables if you choose to dine in. The restaurant is run by a Korean couple, with the husband up front and the wife cooking.
Peaking behind the counter into the kitchen, you know where the money was spent. You won't find...

We saw the 4 star rating and decided to catch a quick lunch here for good seafood. It is a hole in the wall kind of place with a few tables, no real decor. We placed our order with an Asian fellow who came in the front door and took our order then went in the kitchen. Hmm. 3 different...

We are a family of 5 and like to eat at places with family friendly prices and atmosphere. This place met both our criteria. It appeared to be a family owned establishment. Simple display cases containing the fish. Simple and limited seating. Simple menu.

Went here for lunch while on vacation with the family. Its a non-descript hole-in-the wall kind of place with really good seafood. One of those kinds of places you'd expect to find when you go to the beach. This was the best "meal for the price" we had in Williamsburg. If you wan expensive seafood that's overpriced for no apparent...

We stopped here on a Saturday evening. I have passed this place a million times but have never stopped in so we decided to try it. Kind of a hole in the wall place. Few tables, odd location, no one eating but us. We ordered the fried combo platter: fish, shrimp, oysters, and scallops with a side of fried onion rings. For around 16 bucks, it was all very good and we could hardly eat it all. Staff was friendly. We would eat here again.

I wanted to get a steamed or boiled shrimp lunch, but the only single-serve sizes of shrimp they had were fried, and the sides were very limited. A fourth to a half of a pound of steamed shrimp would have been more than enough, but alas! not available.
The driveway is very narrow, and parking is limited. I guess for...

We are so glad we decided to try 6 Crabs! We went for lunch and loved everything offered. The scallops were so sweet and delicious. My husband had found this restaurant when looking online for fresh seafood while in Williamsburg. It is off the beaten path, in the "blue collar" section of W'burg. A small, non-impressive exterior but the food was superior. The prices unbelieavably low. Because I had anticipated eating there all week I got the 6 Crab special. For 13.99 I got two...

it's a hole in the wall that is mostly for carry out, however we ate in and were extrememly pleased with the quality of the food. There are 4 or 5 tables for eat in and you order right from the counter. The display cooler shows the fresh catches of the day; soft crabs, shrimp, clams, etc.

My family had awesome clams, oysters, and fillet, all fried. I had a dozen of the biggest freshest oysters I've seen in the last 20 years. They charge $7 and $3 to shuck. 6 crabs really is a hole in the wall. It's just down the road from Second St. Tavern. They sell fish and crabs to go or meals to eat in. I originally stopped in the buy fish to take back to our hotel and cook. It had been a long day at Water Country so we decided to eat in....

We were in Williamsburg for a week and stumbled across this restaurant. What a find. It doesn't look like much, just a little shack really, but the food is outstanding.
