Coriander Bistro continues to receive local and national acclaim as “stylish and professional” & “well worth the visit” (Boston Globe); “sophisticated but relaxed” (Boston Magazine); “great food & exceptional service” (National Culinary Review); "a jewel of a restaurant" (Boston Event Guide); "it's brilliant" (Boston Business Journal); and "an engaging restaurant with a great atmosphere, warm...
This Indian-Nepalese rounds out the "vibrant flavors" of its more familiar picks with "some interesting Himalayan dishes", "much appreciated" in suburban Sharon; it's run by "nice folks" who "help with" the à la carte menu and the daily lunch buffet – the latter "you can't beat" for the "excellent" price.
The Scene
This intimate bistro, located directly between Boston and Providence in blink-and-you'll-miss-it Sharon Center, has no problem filling its 50 seats on most nights (reservations...
My first long-intended, but totally spontaneous visit to this local Himalayan treasure, Coriander Bistro, was a delicious surprise! I found this delightful Indian-Nepalese cafe to appear clean, cool-ish on an unseasonably hot spring afternoon, busy but achieving all within a calm, atmosphere. The gracious atmosphere of the dozen-tabled (deuces & 4-tops all of which look combinable) lunch-set-up...
I have been here for dinner and lunch. I probably go 8-12 times per year.
It is a place where you can sit quietly and not be bothered or pressured to leave by the wait staff. Elegant surroundings and very reasonable prices.
The lunch buffet is very good with several main course offerings. Appetizers include pakoras and one other appetizer...
I have reviewed Coriander Bistro previously, but wanted to add an update. The food is very good and my family visits frequently. However, this week we had a 7 pm reservation on Saturday night. It was crowded when we arrived, and the young man they had dealing with the front of the house was also taking orders and getting drinks....
We go there quite often and like the food a lot. Some of the dishes we liked are the mixed pakora platter, chili chicken, chicken dumpling, lamb curry. The food is really yum!!!
My wife and I were introduced to this place by another couple. Menu is comprehensive and you get a lot for the money. This became our favorite Indian place after only the first (of many) visit.

For a long time, the best place to eat in Sharon was Coriander Bistro, an upscale French restaurant that closed earlier this year. In July, a new restaurant opened in the space, and surprise! It’s called Coriander Bistro. The name suits this incarnation even better than it did the original: The restaurant now serves Indian and Nepali food. (It’s owned by the same people who run Himalayan Bistro...

My husband says he had the best meal of his life and I must admit that it is on the top of my list. The chef clearly knows what he is doing. He offers fresh and seasonal items with each month's menu. The portions are perfect and the sauces aren't too heavy. Yummy! It's worth the money.

The never-ending chef's tasting menu ($65, available Tuesday-Thursday) is perfect for special-occasion dining.
While the menu rarely features vegetarian entrees, the kitchen is pleased to prepare something herbivorous upon request.
Be warned: The impressive, mostly French wine list is not for the budget-minded.
